Maple High School Academy Year 1
Journey to Nightshade - Wolfbane Poison

Wolfbane Poison's

THE MORNING IN THE DINING ROOM has never been this quiet. Not a single student spoke. Everyone enjoyed breakfast in silence. There was no morning wabble that would sometimes color the morning of Maple Academy students.

Elle stared at the empty chair next to her blankly. He finished his breakfast without taste. Although the breakfast time was still long, the glasses girl rushed to leave the dining room. The students who saw him were whispering.

“It must be heavy for him,” said one of the students from the Fallen Angel race.

“Sstt, we don't have much to comment.” Another voice unconcernedly sounded alerting.

Elle tried not to ignore the whispers she had heard before disappearing behind the door. He stepped into one of his favorite places, the potion room. Suddenly, he remembered the tragedy last night.

Elle immediately walked towards the sound as soon as the bang was heard. The instantaneous Fantasy Dormitory gathering room was filled with many students. Everything just stayed in place. It was impossible for him to know what was happening, he decided to avoid the crowd, Elle walked past the students while softly saying excuse me. His steps came to a halt when a surging red-haired girl grabbed his hand.

“He's your friend, isn't he?” His hand pointed at the figure of gray hair lying in the middle of the gathering space.

Elle shut her mouth in disbelief. The book he had brought had just fallen. He rushed to the lying body. That dark gray hair belonged only to a Peony. As soon as his hand was about to grab the Peony, one voice restrained his movements.

“Wait. Don't touch!”

The door opened and a blue light the size of a fist floated in with flashing powder. The light then slowly formed a bright blue silhouette the size of a human. The students immediately retreated and lowered their heads.

“Hold your step, Miss Thompson. Don't touch her, Madam Polina has sent her boat to come here.” The head of the Fantasy Dorm tried to calm down Elle who still wanted to get close to Peony.

Before long, there appeared some golden-coloured light which then turned into a Healer. They are forest fairies built by Madam Polina as her assistant. The Four Healers immediately blockaded the area around Peony. Two of them started to touch and change the position of the Werewolf girl.

“Kids! Get into your room right now. The curfew is advanced. No one leaves the room until morning, and no one visits each other's room.”

The chorus of disappointment echoed instantly. The students immediately dispersed as soon as Miss Nania showed her sharp gaze.

As the other students left the gathering room, Elle was still unmoved in her place. His eyes were fixed on the healers who were still examining his friend. Now he can see Peony's face after being changed to his back.

Peony's pale face now looked blue. Elle could see around her best friend's neck were red and blue stripes that looked lifelike. The girl even blinked her eyes repeatedly. He hallucinated seeing the lines seem to move even slowly.

“Miss,“ call Elle worry.

New-looking Miss Nania realized Elle was still around the gathered room approaching her. “Come back to your room. Your friend will be fine,” pinta Miss Nania.

“But, that blue-red line ..”

“You can see it?” ask one of the Healers. Elle nodded.

“Someone nature gift.” Miss Nania reveals the power Elleanor has. Then the beautiful Dormitory head looked at his student and said, “Miss Thompson, you better get back to your room. Your friend is now in proper handling.”

After looking at the old Miss Nania, Elle finally chose to comply with the request of the head of her dorm. He turned and headed towards the room.

“All Werewolf students ?”

Elle heard a tone of disbelief in Miss Nania's question to one of the Healers.

Elle lifted her glasses and wiped away the tears with the back of her hand as she heard the door open.

“Wah, I feel flattered. This half there are already students who are ready to learn potions.”

The girl jumped on top of her chair when she realized The Prof had entered the classroom.   “Sorry, Prof, I think there is no one here.” Elle bowed to apologize. Facing the potion teacher, it always made Elle feel uncomfortable. Not because of the unfriendly attitude of the Prof. It's just that The Prof's unusual style of dress makes Elle always snorted every time he saw it.

The Prof almost never opens his hood. During his teaching, he never let go of the large cloak he wore. Even so, the potion lesson was still Elle's favorite. In addition because he felt close to the main ingredient of the herb itself, also because The Prof taught them with easy-to-understand language. Not like Mr. Samael who always delivers the material enigmatic.

“How's your friend doing?” ask The Prof while pulling a chair at his desk.

“I don't know yet, Prof. I'll see him later in the day.” Elle stared at The Prof in doubt, “Sorry, Prof., may I ask a little?”

“Ya, “ replied The Prof in passing.

“Night I saw a blue-red line on my friend's neck. Suddenly the healer asked, ‘do I see it?’. What I want to ask is, not everyone can see the line?”

The Prof was silent for a moment. Behind her hood, Elle felt she was being stared at sharply by her herb teacher. Instead of staring back, Elle chose to lower her head and fix the position of her glasses that often go down if she often looks down.

Elle nodded.

“Moving slowly?”

Elle nodded again.

“Honey once,” whispered The Prof while shaking slowly.

“Eh?” Elle did not understand what her teacher said.

“This blue-red line is usually caused by several things. One of them is by plants. And this effect can only be seen by those who are endowed with power by nature. Like yourself.”

After lunch, Elle actually left for the hospital. He deliberately brought the white Lily flowers as a hand. In front of the ward door, he passed Madam Polina who only nodded her head as soon as she saw him.

Elle put the flowers she brought into the vase on the nightstand. He brought the vase into the bathroom because he wanted to fill with water. When out of the bathroom, then Elle realized that in the ward was not only Peony who was being treated. He did not realize before because each bed was covered with curtains.

The bed closest to the bathroom is now open curtain, so Elle had seen two schoolgirls who were surrounding the bed. One of the students had white hair and looked mature, while the other black-haired student who looked sad looking at someone lying on the bed.

Elle knows both Amara, the elf princess, and Shalima, Queen of Regeneration. The girl bit her lip as soon as she realized that the one lying down was Valdref. Werewolves are often seen with them.

In a hurry, Elle stepped towards Peony's bed. Immediately he put the vase and put the Lily flower that was brought. For the sake of a little privacy, Elle pulled the curtain to cover her best friend's bed. At first glance he saw one of the beds on the opposite side of Valfred's bed. Must have been filled in by another Werewolf. Elle exhaled in concerned breath. No one visited the werewolf. Even Elle herself had trouble remembering the name of the student. Either because he did not get along much other than with Peony or because the student was more often withdrawing. A Pitts Prince, Peony's nickname to him.

Peony still lay closed his eyes. Elle clasped her best friend's hand tightly. Peony said the other day after the talent development exercise.

“You should be careful talking, Peony. Look at you now,” Elle. “Please, don't sleep for long. You gotta get up. I don't want to see you like this. You know, I don't have any friends besides you.”

After 15 minutes of monologuing beside Peony's bed, Elle decides to return to the dormitory. He should be getting ready for Herbology classes. The girl pulled both ends of her lips up. The same day I met the same teacher with a different lesson. However, once again Elle did not regret it. Herbology was the perfect subject for him.

“Listen to me, you will surely soon realize! So, I'm going first. I'll be back here again.”

The girl in one braid left the ward. Valfred's bed is still accompanied by both friends across races.

As Elle exited the ward where the Werewolves were being treated, she heard voices in high tones. His steps suddenly came to a halt and was interested in listening to the chatter because one of the voices mentioned wolfbane.

Isn't that a forbidden plant? Especially with the werewolf race who attended school here? Thought Elle. Curiosity, making him tiptoed and approached the direction of the sound coming from the office of Madam Polina.

“So right the cause is wolfbane?” ask Miss Grewynn.

Madam Polina sighed, then confirmed. “Iya. I made sure of that. Coupled with a blue-red line that appears circling their necks.”

“Isn't there an antivenom for wolfbane?” The voice of the vice school principal.

Elle held her breath hearing there was a chance for Peony to heal.

“If it wasn't Werewolf who was exposed to wolfbane poison, I could still prepare the antidote potion. However ..”

“What?” asked Miss Elafir curiously.

“Werewolf only had two nights until the blue-red line wrapped around his neck perfectly. After that, there is no chance. Except ... Nightshade!”

“Could it?” Madam Polina expressed her doubt.

“There. However, the journey there is quite difficult. We need someone who understands about this plant, because I myself still have difficulty distinguishing it.”

“Can The Prof not help?” Miss Nania tried to give her advice.

“Entah, but he himself is so closed. I feel disinclined to ask for his help.”

“Is there not a student?” Madam Polina asked.

“Who?” ask Miss Grewyinn.

“My healer said, a student can see that blue-red line.”

Miss Nania choked up when she realized who the student meant.
