Maple High School Academy Year 1
The Soul Blower - Treason

Treason

LILY SMILINGLY STARED AT so many flowers hanging in every corner of the room. Like spring, the colorful flower petals occasionally scatter to the floor that is getting colder.

"Darlingly, soon you'll have to come back, Sibyl." Lily leaned back her tired body from dancing and jumping around the room.

You can still talk to me later.

Sibyl swung her wooden arm a few times, causing some flowers to re-grow beautifully.

Lily unceasingly looked in astonishment, even occasionally she clucked involuntarily. "One day I want to be like you."

Wh why?

"Because you're beautiful, kind, and amazing." Lily turned around Sibyl's wooden body. "Look at this, very pretty golden hair. How did you get this?"

This is not my real hair.

"Yes, I know it's just a statue. But your real hair must be prettier than this. How'd you get it?" Lily began to stroke Sibyl's mane made of real gold. A little heavy, but very beautiful.

You want the same hair?

Lily stared enthusiastically, "Can you?"

I got it after Loki's son Laufey made me bald. If you want, I can pull your red hair to the root.

Lily held onto her curly hair. "I changed my mind. Watch out if you dare to fuck around!"

Sibyl's laughter echoed in Lily's hearing. A knock on the door interrupted their conversation. Efron and Maya enter the room with anxious looks.

"Wine. This is so bad!"

The academy is in chaos. Lots of people passing through the hallway. Some of the students were examined by the academy staff.

"What's going on?" Jace stepped up with a slightly limp leg. It had already been a few days since his leg was injured in Gingko Forest. However, it seemed that Sleipnir's footwork was not an ordinary thing capable of healing in an instant.

The man with the honey-brown hair turned his head, Adniel. His hands crossed and looked back at the crowd before them, "Come. Soon a long holiday, we'll just wait for the announcement, but someone's acting."

Jace still doesn't seem to understand what Adniel is saying. His eyes continued to look curiously, "Are you? What do you mean act like?"

Adniel pointed his chin at an object far enough away from them. "Pa-tung?" jace asked a little.

Adniel gave a small nod, then explained about the disappearance of the Sif statue from the museum. Even worse, the statue was replaced with an ordinary sculpture carving with fake gold hair derived from Medusa's hair.

Jace's mind immediately floated on the barrage of events in this past month. Ditch the curfew, meet Fire Hair, my lost bracelet, Sibyl, Sleipnir, magic, potions, Gingko For—ah, it feels like my head wants to explode.

"Jace, here's your bracelet!” Lily's hand held Jace's chocolate bracelet.

Jace looked confusedly at Lily. "A-pa .. but our mission is not finished and Sibyl's spirit has not returned."

"Thank you I was being kind to you. You've been a great help and I'm grateful for that." Lily painstakingly applied the ointment on Jace's injured leg. They had arrived at Villagic a moment ago. "And yes .. I don't think you're that bad."

Jace rolled his eyeballs, "What's bad do you mean?"

"You've always been bad in my eyes" Lily said, holding her eyes down. "Whatever concerns you, I consider it bad."

"Oh, one more! You're like a chirping bird, you know? Just keep blabbing that doesn't matter, making my ears hot" Lily added.

Jace looked at Lily. It could be likened to a bird chirping. "Just like you equated me with birds chirping!"

"If you can call me Fire Hair, then I can also call you Twitter Bird" Lily replied casually. "The call was given by Maya," he continued with a loud laugh.

"You! Looks like you're so content mocking me, huh?" pissed Jace.

"Ah, not really." Lily flicked her right hand right in front of Jace. "I'm not mocking you. I'm just telling you the truth that you're like a chirping bird. Your mouth can never stop babbling for a second," continued Lily who ended with a ruckus. His hands moved like they were mimicking the lips of the one who spoke.

Jace threw an empty bottle of potion to Lily. Just a slow throw, but able to represent her frustration at Lily's taunts.

"Thank you."

"For?"

"Have helped me, what else?" Lily got up from her seat, then stuck out her right hand right in front of Jace. "Friends?"

"I don't think that's a bad idea" Jace replied as he grabbed Lily's palm, then they chuckled.

Jace flinched from his daydream as a hand patted him tightly. Adniel who was standing beside her right hinted at something. In front of them was Miss Aimer Venmaris. Accompanied by her assistant, Miss Aimer begins an examination session for Jace and Adniel. Several times questions were asked and they answered him well—though sometimes Jace looked nervous.

Miss Aimer was feeling a little suspicious of Jace's actions. He carefully observed the movements of his blonde pupils. "Sir Kalandra, is there anything you want to say?"

“Friends?”

Jace was slightly tiptoed when he suddenly heard Lily's voice. He turned his head, trying to find out where the sound came from. However, there was no sign that the red girl was there.

"What's wrong?" Miss Aimer raised her question again. Jace tried to neutralize his nervousness. "Looks like you know something" accuse the woman with her fur coat.

Miss Aimer nodded in understanding. He asked Jace to come to his room after this. Jace accepted Miss Aimer's request.

At each step, Jace's mind echoed as if stringing together some events as he was with Lily and her two friends.

"Friends?"

Again. The voice appeared without being asked. Jace closed his eyes. "Sorry," Jace muttered involuntarily.

"Thank you."

"The air is getting colder, winter is just counting the days. I hope we have enough time before our existence is known" said Efron, who was greeted with a nod by Maya and Lily.

"But .. are you sure the best time is in winter?" sela Maya who seemed a little hesitant.

The only way to Asgard is through the burning water, the air colliding with the light and causing the quarreling colors.

Lily nodded confidently. "Said Jace, the intent of the clue was bifrost. Bifrost is the guardian of the gods. It's very hard to find a rainbow if it's not in the right time."

"You mean?"

"You know polar night? When the sun barely appears all day in winter, then that's the best time to see rainbows gushing all over the lagit—aurora borealis."

"I agree with Lily," said Efron who was still busy struggling with the potion bottle. "Sibyl, can you wait another week?"

Sibyl who was asked did not respond at all. This made the three heads there look at him. Their gazes were greeted with a golden light that shot out from Sibyl's hands.

"Whoa .. it was beautiful," Maya marveled at seeing the golden light from Sibyl's hand slowly turning into very beautiful flower petals.

This is for you guys.

Sibyl handed over gold flowers that were larger than normal flowers to Lily. Lily grabbed him with an enchanted look. "This ... what?" He looked up for a moment, then looked at the flower again.

That's Golden Hibiscus, a flower of truth.

"But what is this for?" It was Maya's turn to be curious. Not far from Lily, he looked amazed until he did not blink.

It was a memento from me. One day you will need it.

"This is the most beautiful flower I've ever seen" Lily murmured.

Sweat continues to drip along with a racing heart beat than usual. Although the cold air is getting more and more piercing out there, but not for Jace. His hands clenched and occasionally squeezed him because of the increasingly nervous.

Faced with Jace, Miss Aimer focused her chin on the back of her interlocking hands. "Are you ready?"

Jace nodded slowly, doubt emanating clearly in his countenance. His seat was unsettled, so agitated that his legs were unrelenting to move.

"Alright, say it."

Jace started to open his mouth and explain everything. With a little spice lies as if he had nothing to do with Lily and her two friends.

"You've been very helpful and I'm grateful for that."

The voice reappeared. Jace closed his eyes tightly enough to shake off Lily's reflection, who thanked him.

"Are you okay, Mr Kalandra?" asked Miss Aimer who had since observed every expression of Jace.

Jace was just unmoved, not responding to Miss Aimer's question at all. His forehead frowned uncomfortably as his mind floated on the shadow of the girl he summoned with Fire Hair.

"Friends?"

"No!" Jace's shout made Miss Aimer jump in shock. Jace bemoaned his carelessness, "Ma-I mean .. I. my feet ache because the air is getting colder, Ma'am."

The air is getting colder. All Maple Academy students are busy preparing for the year-end holidays. However, the three students with white shirts attached were actually busy in the potion room.

Efron as usual, was always busy with small bottles filled with strange liquid. Lily was busy observing the Ephron-given paper containing a copy of the spell from the inscription on the Colosseum. Maya, I don't know. The girl has since been visibly riled up and continues to stare out the window displaying fine snowflakes that are beginning to fall.

"Looks like I'll miss Sibyl later." Lily's voice broke the silence between the three of them. He rested his shoulders on the back of the occupied wooden chair.

"Yes, she was so nice and .. beautiful" said Efron, who was presented with a paper throw from Lily.

"Basically a flirty man!" lily said with her small laugh. "What about you, Maya?"

Not getting a statement from Maya, Lily looked at her friend who was sitting in the corner of the room and looked out. "Maya, what's wrong?" ask Lily who is now approaching Maya.

"Yes, what's wrong?" Maya looked surprised. "What are you asking, Lily?"

"You why?" Lily grabbed a chair and sat down beside Maya.

"Nope-no. Why am I?" Instead of answering, Maya actually reversed Lily's question.

"What's wrong? You feel anything?"

Maya smiles, then switches to staring at window—again. "none. I was just admiring the snow that was falling.”

Maybe it's just my feelings.
