Cold floor, quiet and peaceful prison. Maybe he's the only inmate who linger in that prison because there's no annoying father and no annoying stepmother and Richard, he really felt peace inside the prison but that did not mean he wanted to linger there even though the place was calming because he wanted to avenge the two thieves who had entered his house then take everything from him.
Food was always in prison for me. Jansen did get other treatment than others because only he himself should not get out of his cell while others can go out to eat together and do other activities together fellow prison.
Surely that preferential treatment was requested by Anne Howard. With enough money given to the prison guards, Anne asked them not to give freedom to Jansen. All of that was done so that Jansen was depressed at his condition which worsened his mental state but until now, the young man had enjoyed his time of solitude in prison.
The sound of leg beats and the knocking of sticks in his iron bars made Jansen turn away. A prison guard stood at the door looking for the prison keys from some of the keys. Jansen who was lying down got up and sat on the floor. It seems like someone visited and somehow she wished for Elena to come.
"get out, someone's meeting you!" said the warden.
"Who?" ask Jansen.
"Just get out!"
Jansen got up, the warden almost hit him with a stick but Jansen caught the stick and looked at him sharply. The warden stepped back and gulped, preferably he did not seek because of the official's son even though he was eager to beat him to pieces.
"Don't try, I'll hit you without a doubt even you can die in my hands. I don't mind increasing the jail time because I'm already very comfortable in this prison so don't try if you still love life!" threaten her.
"No need to threaten, I'm not afraid of you!" the stick in Jansen's hand was pulled loose and after that the warden stepped back.
Jensen stepped out, he was sure for sure Alena because the two waji*ngan could not possibly bother waiting for him let alone his father who was already impossible to come to visit him. As he had expected, it was Elena who had come. The young man sat up haughtily and raised both his legs and placed them on the table.
"You again!" he said as he looked at Elena with a sneering look.
Elena could not help but care less about Jansen's gaze. After she finished giving the lesson, Elena went to the prison to find out the chronology of the incident that had happened to Jansen. He hoped that the young man was cooperating but Jansen's unpleasant eyes and the young man's unfriendly attitude were doubtful.
"Did you miss me that's why you came looking for me?" ask Jansen the stale base.
"Don't just talk, I came to talk to you!" said Elena.
"Speak what? I don't think there's anything to discuss, professor!"
"Please cooperate, Jansen. I wanted to find out what really happened to you that day so tell me so I can find the evidence."
"It's not necessary, I'm very comfortable here!"
"Jansen!" Elena shouted while hitting the table. Already he guessed that young man's attitude must have been very annoying and he had to be patient.
"You see, no one cares about me. My father didn't go then why do you care about me? We don't have any relationship then why are you bothering yourself for me?"
"There is nothing I believe in this world, nothing. My own real father can't be trusted then how can I trust others? you're new, we just met then how can I trust you let alone you're a stranger to me? Out there who hates me so much and you, there's no way not to hate me!" jansen.
"Alright, it looks like you've lost your sense of trust. I'm a stranger, new to you but I can judge and I'm not among those who hate you. I don't rejoice in what has happened to you, I don't even profit by helping you but I care about you. I can't just stand by the injustice that's happened to you. I know you need help, Jansen. I know you won't do anything beyond bounds even if you've been troublemaking a lot. As mischievous as you are, I'm sure you couldn't have done such a heinous deed let alone nearly killed people!" obviously Alena is at length.
"There's no need to say such a thing, I'm not as sad as you think!"
"Alright, now tell me what happened. That's all I want to know. Maybe you don't believe me because we're strangers but I'll prove that I'm not like the others. I'm gonna get you out of jail and make you a useful man so you don't get looked at by people anymore. At a time like this, you should show your father that you can stand alone without his help."
"Why are you helping me? I'm just the one who's causing trouble!" jansen.
"I told you, I care about you. I can't see you like this let alone I'm sure that you're innocent. I'm not a judgmental person, I'll stand up for the right if that person is right and I'll punish the wrong person if that person is wrong!"
Jansen was silent, trying to figure out the lie from Elena's words but she did not find the lie even Elena looked so serious as to help her. If so, he would try to trust the woman to be free and he hoped Elena would not let him down.
"You're telling me, aren't you?" ask Elena.
"I was resting in the garden but the twenty young men came and attacked me using sticks and sharp objects. Are you all blind? I couldn't possibly bring a sharp weapon to campus let alone challenge twenty people at once. It's still lucky I'm alive even though I managed to get them battered!" he was quite proud because he could hit those twenty people to the brunt.
"Why didn't you tell the authorities this?" elena asked, she wanted to know why Jansen was silent.
"Will anyone believe? There are only bad achievements that I do, almost everyone knows and when you do self-defense, will anyone believe? It's best to be quiet, not to expend a lot of energy because everything will end up the same!"
"Alright, even if no one believes but I do. Thanks for the information, I will definitely let you out so wait and don't look for things with anyone. Youunderstand?"
"Alright," replied Jansen lazily.
"Good, this is for you!" Elena gave him the food he had brought before he left.
"This only?" ask Jansen.
"Next time I'll come again. Remember not to look for things with anyone so as not to add to the problem!" elena who stepped away.
"Hey, next time bring me something better!" shout Jansen.
"Fill my wallet thin, I haven't got a paycheck but I've got a problem!" Elena had already stepped away because she already knew what she had to do. Jansen smiled then looked at the food on the table. Alright, he would really trust the woman even though there was really no reason for him to trust Elena.
