Chapter 3: Nightmares

Rania arrived in Bandung after about two hours drive. He looked at his grandmother when he arrived at the hospital. Rania greeted Nindi and her cousin's sister, Berlin, while Eyang Arum was already in the action room. While waiting, Rania tells the details of how Logan's father died and the will he left behind which asks Rendra to immediately marry Carla. So did Rendra who suggested Logan and Rania get married together with them in the same day and time.

After waiting long enough, the act of installing the ringpun is completed. Eyang Arum was so happy when Rania was there. They talked about many things until the doctor said that Eyang Arum was allowed to go home.

Ranie took his family home. After chatting for a long time Rania came home. Eyang and also the mother did not forbid Rania to leave because they understood the situation of Logan who was still grieving would be in desperate need of Rania's support.

At about nine in the evening, Rania arrived at the penthouse. Rania saw the shoes Logan was wearing this morning already in the shoe cabinet. She immediately looked for her husband.

"Gan.." Rania called out to Logan as she entered the middle room. But Logan is not in the living room, kitchen, and dining room.

Rani stepped into their room. In front of the room Rania heard a voice from inside the room. While opening the door, Rania sees Logan lying on the bed still in his work clothes. Logan looks restless and delirious in his sleep.

"Dad..dad...!" Logan kept mentioning the father's name in his sleep.

"Gan, wake. Logan..." Rania sits next to Logan and tries to wake him up by patting him on the cheek.

Logan awoke and looked at the face of Rania sitting next to him. His eyes were wet with tears. Logan got up from his sleep and hugged Rania.

"You're dreaming?" rania asked while patting Logan's back.

"From yesterday I dreamt of my father, Ran." said Logan still hugged Rania tightly.

"You must still often think the same father. That's why you dream." Rania feels grateful to have arrived home when Logan needed her.

Rania let go of her embrace and looked at Logan's face which looked very tired and pale.

"Have you eaten?" ask Rania.

Logan shook his head.

"Gan, it's nine in the evening and you haven't eaten yet?"

"I was very busy earlier and did not taste well to eat" said Logan.

Rania took a long breath.

"Yes, now you take a shower first, let the body rest. Keep eating, I was brought food with Mama. We eat together."

Logan did not answer and instead hugged Rania again.

"I don't think you're going home" said Logan.

"And I said, I must have gone home. I'm just sorry I just left at 6 from Eyang's house. I was talking to Eyang."

"Father. Oh yeah, what's the operation?" Logan let go of his embrace.

"Currently. Not long after installing the ring, Eyang has been taken home." said Rania.

"Thankful for that. I should've seen you look at Eyang. Sorry yes."

"Reprize, Gan. The same mom knows your situation. Yes, now you take a shower. I'm ready for the food."

Rani kisses Logan's head and steps out of the room.

Rania opened the container she brought from Bandung. There is rice, beef rendang, pickles, and also potato fried sambal. Rania serves rendang and also chili fried potatoes on a plate and arranged them on the dining table.

Logan finishes cleaning himself up and joins Rania at the dinner table.

"Mama made this?" ask Logan.

"Yes. Mama cooks for the restaurant before, but is made for her favorite daughter-in-law in part. Yes, you try it." said Rania while taking rice and others to the plate in front of Logan.

"So I want to meet Mama-in-law" said Logan while eating his food.

"Keep I've met you to do something?" ask Rania.

"You say thank you" said Logan.

"Thank you for the food?"

"Yes. Just thank you for being born as beautiful and as good as you" Logan said with a serious face.

"What the hell, Gan." said Rania misbehaved, both hands holding her red cheeks. Rania is thankful that Logan is able to joke around a bit.

Logan did not answer just a thin smile and continued to devour his food until it ran out. Logan got up from his seat and brought the dirty dishes to the sink and washed them.

"Gan, let me go." said Rania to Logan.

"Udah gapapa just like me. You take a shower first."

"Yes really. This is a little."

"Yes already. I'll take a shower." Raniaun passed to his room and immediately cleaned himself up.

When Rania came out of the bathroom, Logan was already lying on one side of the bed. His body was covered in a blanket, his gaze staring blankly ahead. Raniaun went into the same blanket as Logan and lay down next to Logan. Rania turned her body towards Logan. It seems Logan still has not realized that Rania is beside him.

Rania touches Logan's hand, and Logan looks very surprised. Logan was clearly daydreaming at the time.

"Gan, you haven't slept?" ask Rania.

"Not yet." Logan changed his position and faced Rania. Both of their hands held each other.

"Why?" ask Rania.

"I'm waiting for you" said Logan.

Rania smiled and looked towards their hands that were clasping each other. Rania stuck her finger in between Logan's fingers.

"So how does it work? Smoothly?" ask Rania.

"Yes that's it. The stockholders did not like it because the shares of my father fell into the hands of me all. But they can't do anything. Documents are also still a lot to be machined." said Logan is still not excited.

"Eagerness yes. The same mom is worried about you. Can't say you're on leave for a week."

"Can't, Ran. I have to clean everything up. Next month I have started college, before that I have to finish all the documents and also I still prepare everything for the headquarters that will be moved to Bandung for a while."

"Why should his office be moved, Gan? Isn't that eating a lot of money and energy?"

"That was my dad at the time. He wanted me to manage the company, but he thought I would not want to move to Jakarta again" Logan said with a sad face.

Rania decided not to discuss that anymore.

"What did you eat last lunch?" tanya Rania shifted the topic of conversation.

"I didn't eat" said Logan hesitantly.

"Huh? You're a malem who just ate at nine. And you don't eat?" rania said with a fierce tone.

"Yes, it wasn't perfect. And I don't taste." said Logan.

Rania looked at Logan's slightly thin face.

"You can't do that, Gan. You can get sick later. If you get sick, you'll be too late."

"Yes tomorrow I will definitely eat" said Logan to calm Rania who was so worried about him.

Rania sighed, feeling unsure Logan would actually prove his words.

"Sleep yuk, I'm sleepy" Logan said as he yawned.

"Yuk. Good night, honey." said Rania.

"Good sleep too" said Logan, closing his eyes.

Moments later, Logan seems to have fallen asleep. Rani also kissed Logan's forehead and looked at Logan's sleeping face that was so cute. Not long drowsiness mastered it too and he fell asleep.

Suddenly while asleep, Rania felt her hands squeezed hard. Rania awoke to realize their hands were still holding hands while asleep earlier. Logan looked delirious and his forehead was covered in sweat. Rania turns on the sleeping lights on the nightstand, and pats Logan on the cheek.

"Logan, get up, Gan!" rania. Logan woke up shocked.

"You're dreaming again?" ask Rania.

Logan got up from his lying position and rubbed his face violently. Rania got a glass of water that she prepared if at night she woke up thirsty.

Logan receives the glass that Rania thrust and then drinks it until it runs out.

"I kept dreaming of my dad, Ran." Logan said frustratedly.

"here.." Rania guides Logan to lie down again. Raniaun shifted his pillow closer to Logan. She lay facing Logan and hugged his body.

"You're sleeping again now" said Rania patting Logan's chest slowly.

Logan turned his body towards Rania and placed his hand under Rania's head, then grabbed his wife's body with both hands. Logan felt the warmth and fragrance of Rania's body in his arms made his mind more relaxed. Slowly Logan began to feel his eyes begin to weigh and he fell asleep again.

Logan no longer woke up and slept soundly in the arms of his wife until the morning.
