My phone rang loudly pulling me from Auriga's letter. Min-wook's name is on there. I thought she was nagging her sisters. I wiped the tears and then received his call.
“Yeoboseyo?” my spoken. There was no answer, only the sound of breathing.
“Min-wook? Why?” I asked again because I didn't get an answer.
“Nuna in the apartment? I'm there now,” Min-wook makes a sound. I glanced at the wall clock, now at three in the morning.
“This is already...” my word is truncated. Min-wook closes the call. I breathed a heavy breath. I fell asleep on the sofa while staring at the letter from Auriga. I don't know how to. My heart no longer chooses it. Memories are beautiful but not to be resumed.
Min-wook's trip from his dorm to my apartment took at least half an hour, enough time to make a cup of coffee for him. I'm heading to the kitchen to boil some water. The front door bell rang. Min-wook came sooner than I thought. Not yet I reached the door, the voice of someone pressing the password sounded. The open door shows Ji Ah with her disheveled face. This girl doesn't say anything. Ji Ah with her tangle approaching me gave me a map and then left. It's a little weird but I didn't do anything. The heated teapot rang, I put the map on the dining table and turned off the stove. Password pressed back audible. This time it's definitely Min-wook. The open door raises Min-wook with an ash hoodie.
“Nuna want to go for a walk?” Ask Min-wook directly.
“I just made coffee, you want?” I said without answering his question. Min-wook looks at me firmly.
“Nuna just cried? Nuna is okay?” Min-wook asks while walking towards the sofa. I made two cups of coffee without answering her question. The reason I chose Min-wook was this, he was trying to be there. Always trying to be a place where I can lean my head too heavy.
“Auriga came to the new year's event yesterday, and I met again during the contract signature last afternoon, he also sent me a letter, he said he already has someone,” I said as I handed him a cup filled with coffee.
“Nuna still expecting it?” Ask Min-wook. Needless to say, I knew how hard Min-wook's heart was when he asked that question.
“Okay, I don't understand my own feelings,” I said honestly.
“Nuna knows, I'm always here.” Min-wook. I put my cup to the table then sat down next to Min-wook. I breathed a heavy breath. The man next to me clasped his hands and then pulled me into his arms.
“When can we really date?” Ask Min-wook. I don't know how many times we've talked about it. I didn't know what answer to give so every time he asked me, I would shut up. I'm not always ready to actually date. For a moment I felt bad. Four years already I've let Min-wook fight without an answer.
“Are you going to stay like this when we date?” This time I raised my voice. Min-wook berkehem.
“Then, come on, let's go on a date,” I said out of his arms.
“Are you like this because of a broken heart?” Ask Min-wook worried. I understand why the question came out of his mouth. He is also a man with feelings.
“No, I just started to let the memories remain memories,”. Min-wook smiles then pulls me back into his arms asking, “where should we go for the first date?”
“Don't know, I've never dated before,” my answer is still in his arms.
“Uuu, I'm the first. All right my girlfriend, I'm gonna make the best first date ever in the world,”
“Packery?” Tanyaku.
“Nuna don't like it? Nuna wants to be a wife? Ah, it's hard, we have to go to England to meet Nuna's parents first,” Min-wook replied which made me laugh. I got up from his arms and looked at him lovingly.
“I don't need a fancy date, just me, and you. That's enough.”
MY OWN KOREAN DRAMA
Back on Monday. Me and Min-wook actually went for a first date. This time we met in the morning. Really morning. We both left my apartment at four in the morning. I don't know where Min-wook is taking me today. It seemed that he did not want to talk about his plans at all. I don't know what's in his head right now, one thing I know, we're leaving Seoul.
After at least four hours of travel, I was finally able to stretch my body. The air outside is very cold, although it can freeze me. I get out of the car carrying a backpack, so does Min-wook. It seemed like the man was planning to spend today amidst the snow-covered trees. Min-wook comes up to me and puts a black hat on my head. Protecting your identity is very important when dating. Min-wook's hand goes down my cheek rubbing it long ago. We looked at it for a while before we finally walked down the hiking trail.
“I didn't expect that you chose this place,” I said.
“Two years ago, I came here to shoot the Winter Package, and it's so beautiful here. The first person I thought of was Nuna, so I thought I would bring Nuna here,” Min-wook told me.
“You happy? Can I finally get me here?” Tanyaku.
“I'm happy, what kind of dream date is Nuna?” answer Min-wook with a question at the end.
“Somehow, I seem to be dating too much in the drama, I so don't know which one I want to do first,” I replied as I looked up at the sky.
“Think of what Nuna wants the most, I'll grant it,” Min-wook said then took my hand.
“Uh, Nuna's hands are so cold, do we have to go back to the car? Looking for a warm place?” Min-wook's worried.
“No, there you are, I think that's enough,” I said teasing him then smiling innocently. Min-wook smiled, “ya! I should have seduced Nuna!” exciting Min-wook with style ‘men who issue any’. I snuggled up to her body then hugged her hand that held mine. I tipjit then kissed her cheeks. Min-wook turned his head then kissed my lips at a glance, we both giggled afterwards. This is called kasmaran. This is a new feeling for me, I never felt this while with Auriga. If asked if I would still live the past with Auriga, I'll keep going through the past with Auriga because she'll be a memory that tells me what I really need from a man.
Snow slowly descends. We were not far from the parking lot. Looks like a date in the middle of a snowy forest has to be canceled. Me, and Min-wook run the little back to the parking lot before it snows heavily.
The car was warm when we got in. I saw my reflection on the glass, my cheeks flushed with cold. I've never seen my cheeks this red, usually makeup will cover my real skin color. Snow began to cover the streets. Min-wook immediately takes the car away from the parking lot.
“Where are we going?” Ask again.
“Place we can park the car,” replied Min-wook.
“We don't go back to Seoul?” Ask again.
“It took us four hours to get here, and we left because of the snow? Just right?!” Min-wook Nags. I chuckle at hearing it.
Sure enough, Min-wook then stops at an empty land near a big road. I just found out that the backpack he was carrying contained a supply box. He really planned the perfect date. The smell of food instantly invaded my smell as Min-wook opened his lunchbox.
“Eomuk?” Ask wonder. The box contained the eomuk pliers.
“We ate this when we first met, did you forget? Shop near old dorm,” clear Min-wook. I smiled remembering those memories. I started biting this fish food. It tastes really good, I think it's the most delicious eomuk tang I've ever eaten.
“You bought it where?” I asked on the sidelines.
“I cooked it myself,” replied Min-wook who made me choke. I blinked my eyes a few times.
“You forgot I'm famous as chef Gu Boy,”
“Really? I don't know,”
“You never read the news?”
“You know I have trouble reading hangeul,”
“Then how do you read the script?”
“Application,” great-grandson. Min-wook then blows his breath while nodding. I giggled at him. We both enjoyed the eomuk tang amidst the falling snow. I didn't expect this to be a fun date. In my mind I asked if someday I would let this moment become a memory or continue it as an endless story.
“Wait, what date is this?” Min-wook asks between his meals.
“This is January 16,” I said while staring at my phone screen.
“I need to remember it,”
“For what?” I'm confused.
“It's our first day!” Min-wook. I'm so open to hearing it. Min-wook wants this relationship to be like any other relationship. Have an unforgettable date. Hopefully today's story is not just a memory in the future.
MY OWN KOREAN DRAMA
Like most drama stories, after having a sweet scene, the main cast had to return to the real life. I think drama really comes from real life. Now I'm dealing with my co-star in the snow ready to make anyone freeze. The sun will rise soon, I have to finish this scene before it happens.
“Alright, we just broke up!” Excited my co-star. I just stared in front of him. I looked as blankly as possible and then tears started to drip from the corner of my eye.
“Cut!” The director of this drama. The atmosphere was calm again. The crew came to me immediately. I blinked a few times preventing tears from coming back down. I approached the other crew to check on my appearance.
“I'm satisfied with the result, what do you think Trine-ssi?” The director asked for my opinion. I nodded then replied, “I am also satisfied with the result.”
“Alright, enough for today, thank you!” The director then bowed in greeting to each crew.
“I have another schedule?” I asked when I was in the car.
“Sore later you have an appointment with the CEO of AAA,” replied Ji Ah.
“You've been looking for information about him?” I asked while closing my eyes.
“Don't say you haven't read it,” said Ji Ah probing. I frowned. Ah yes! Map he gave the other day.
“I'll read it later,” answered I don't want to extend. I changed my seat to face the outside window. Snow covered most of the land. It must be cold walking out there. I closed the window curtain and then went to sleep.
I looked for the map when I arrived at the apartment. It should have been in my study even though I put it carelessly, Auntie who cleaned my apartment always put all the documents on the desk. Sure enough, the map was under a pile of letters on the table, I exhaled a rough breath as I read his name. Auriga Walsh's. That really explains why I met him at the rooftop the other day. I sat in a limp chair. I threw the map on the table and stared at it. I'm really frustrated.
Long enough I peeked at the mirror before finally stepping foot out of the walk in closet. Black dress with length to calf. Black high heels. I can't come back before Auriga as 21-year-old Christina, I won't repeat the same mistake again.
“I'll go inside myself, you can go home early today,” I said on the way to the appointment.
“How do you come home later?” Ask Ji Ah.
“I can call a taxi,” I replied.
“Alright,”
I got off as soon as I arrived at the Japanese restaurant. I rarely go to this place but one thing I'm sure, the food in this place is expensive, costing over a hundred thousand won per portion. I walked inside. A waiter came up to me asking if I had ordered the table before.
“Auriga Walsh,” I told the waiter. Afterwards another waiter came to save the coat I used. The first waiter was driving me through the hallway. I had expected Auriga to order a private room.
Auriga looked at me darkly as I entered the room. The suit plus the black shirt he wore added a dark aura to him. I sat opposite Auriga. After the waiter took our order, the atmosphere grew more tense. I'm not interested in opening a conversation. I turned my gaze to the interior of the authentic Japanese room which added to the tense atmosphere.
“So this is the path you chose,” Auriga opens her voice.
“I came as Trine McKenzie, your company's brand ambassador. I did not come here as Christina Mackenzie, your former family bodyguard,” I reply to stop further discussion about the past. I've been round not to discuss the past again so that memories will remain memories.
“Can you be the Chris I know? At least for five minutes?” Tanya Auriga.
“No. Let the memories remain memories,” I said firmly. I could see from Auriga's eyes that she was very hurt.
“You're right, should memories remain memories.” Auriga repeated my words. This man in front of me breathed a rough breath then sat leaning back on his chair. I can catch a disappointed look on his face.
“Ehm...” I was about to open my voice but the waiter knocked on the door then entered carrying the dish that Auriga had ordered. After the waiter came out we started eating one meal at a time. I don't know the name of the food on this table. It seems Auriga ordered all the food out at the same time.
“You are suitable to use chopsticks,” Auriga said as I feed food into my mouth.
MY OWN KOREAN DRAMA
A rowdy voice rang out even as I was in front of the door of the dorm Gu Boy. I pressed the intercom then Hyun Sik raised his tired face letting me in. Il Hoon and Jung Seo. Two men who always melt the atmosphere. This time they didn't fight, they were playing in the kitchen. I put a white plastic bag on the kitchen table.
“What is Strawberry Halmoni?” Eun Hyuk asked who she was. His boisterous voice increased as he began to eat the red fruit. Dae Ho, the quiet man, came to the kitchen table and ate strawberries.
“You didn't wash it first?!” Min-wook warns in his high tone. I laughed at their interaction. Min-wook takes the rest of the strawberries and then cleans them. I didn't know that after actually dating, Min-wook would be two different personalities. Min-wook is calmer and more mature when he's alone with me. I still like the noisy Min-wook as much as the quiet Min-wook.
