Nandithas
THE OMA HOUSE

A freshly rising sun leads Nandita's journey to the onty Eby house of in-laws.

Wearing black jeans, with a milk-brown sweater, the girl who did not like to stroke her hair was just smacking the origin of her dark brown crown.

Getting off public transport, he had to walk a few minutes to reach the quintessentially large house.

Nandita pressed the bell several times, then waited for the occupants of the house to open the door for her.

The sweet smile she gave when the face of opa emerged from behind the door.

"Opa" she said as she reached for the quiet man's hand to kiss him.

"Son, who are you here with?" Opa looked around, but found no one.

"I'm opa myself. Take the bus." Unmistakably.

"Come on, kid, you want to see Aslan?" Ask Opa as he leads her into the house.

"Mmm is Oma awake, Opa?" Nandita turned towards the tall man with a sideburn all over his face.

"Ooh do you want to meet Oma? All right, hold on a second. Sit down first."

"Canem ..." Opa called out to his wife in a slightly loud voice, yet still sounded soft in the ears.

Nandita smiled at him. He could feel the romance of a couple who might have been together for more than half a century.

Oma came out of the kitchen, still with an apron hanging around her neck

"What's wrong? Ask

"Someone is looking for you. Meet me, let me continue."

They then exchanged directions. Oma headed for the living room where Nandita was waiting for her, while opa headed for the kitchen finished her work.

"Nandita," the woman was quite surprised to see the girl he had only met for a moment.

Soon he took the other side of the sofa where Nandita was sitting.

"Oma," said Nandita smiling awkwardly.

"Oma, I'm sorry I didn't see Oma again yesterday. I'm ...."

"Oh, it's okay. Oma know, you must be so tired that you overslept, right?" The woman who still looked beautiful in her old age, gently stroked the arm of the girl sitting next to her.

Nandita's heart grimaced, feeling sinful when she agreed with Oma's words.

"You came here to look for Aslan? Aah that boy, very lazy to wake up in the morning. Wait a minute, Oma call him first." The woman who was no longer young, rose up to meet her grandson who was still knitting dreams. He was enthusiastic, because the girl he hoped to be his daughter-in-law's granddaughter, now came to his house.

"Ee Oma, no need. I came to see Oma," Nandita said she wanted to come to see Aslan.

A little confused, the woman returned to her original place. Sit down, while looking at Nandita who looks a little agitated.

"What's wrong?" Ask Oma

"Mmm Oma, I wanted to say thank you first. Oma same family here has been so kind to accept me and consider as my own family." Oma nodded her listening sign.

"And I also apologize, if there are my attitudes and actions that are less pleasing in Oma's heart."

Nandita doesn't know where to start to tell her story.

This time Oma's eyebrows fused together, trying to digest the girl's speech intent.

"Oma, my arrival this time will also definitely make Oma disappointed, but believe me I did not mean to do it ...."

"Nandita, what are you talking about? Oma doesn't understand. Don't be kinky, Oma doesn't like." Cut Oma fast.

Nandita kept quiet, gathering courage to say what she had been saying since the house onty Eby.

"Oma, I can't accept Oma's proposal for Aslan." The girl finally said. A little afraid he spoke while bowing his head.

There was no reaction from the woman in front of him.

The atmosphere of silence, added to the feeling of fear that had been tucked in Nandita's heart.

This was not his country, and the person sitting in front of him was not an indiscriminate person. Although not a person who has power, but the family has enough influence in the city.

Although as far as he knows, the family is a good family, but who dares to guarantee a person's heart when feeling humbled?

And he knew for sure, a rejected proposal was something very embarrassing in the family.

"What do you mean by rejecting our proposal?" The soft voice was no longer audible, changing a flat tone full of emphasis.

As Nandita had expected, Oma would definitely be offended by her refusal.

"I feel like I'm not the right person for Aslan, Oma. He deserves someone better than me."

Nandita ventured to look at the face full of wrinkles.

Oma smiled obliquely.

"Did you mean to play my granddaughter this whole time?" Nandita nodded quickly.

"Not at all Oma, that's not true."

"Then?"

"I never meant to play anyone here. All this time, Aslan and I had nothing to do but make friends,"

"There is no friendship between a man and a woman Nandita."

Refute Oma fast.

Nandita looked back.

"If you don't have any relationship, why would you want to be picked up by him all this time? Why don't you refuse every time my granddaughter invites you to come to this house, introduce you as her special friend?"

Smash that woman again.

"Oma, it's all ...."

"Have you now found a better man than Aslan, so that you could throw away my grandson so easily?" Oma's speech was far from the path Nandita wanted to discuss.

Back the girl shakes.

"Oma misunderstood. I never intended to use Aslan. From the beginning I only thought of him as my friend, as did my other friends in my country." Nandita tried to convince the old woman with her glare.

"Since she expressed her feelings, I've refused. That's why I rarely came here a while ago, because I wanted to keep my distance from him."

Oma smiled cynically, as if doubting Nandita's words.

For the woman, Nandita's reasoning was simply absurd.

"Then for some time now, did you avoid Aslan as well?" With a sharp look, the woman seemed to want to weaken Nandita's heart.

The girl seemed to think, did she have to tell all the details of the story that brought her to this foreign land?

Why should he be silent when Aslan declares that he is the man's lover?

"He is indeed my lover Oma," the voice of a young man turned Oma's hostile gaze at Nandita.
