DEFENSELESS

The handsome young man with thick eyebrows, walked towards the sofa where two different-aged women were looking at him in different ways.

Aslan, who was wearing only those thin white shorts and t-shirts, sat down near Nandita.

"really right? You're my lover now." That statement made Nandita upset. Why was this man before him so willing to trap him in an increasingly complicated situation.

"Aslan," called Nandita with a disappointed look.

"Why did you set me up like this?"

"Who's trapping? Right no? With you accepting me present in your days, doesn't that mean you accept me?"

Nandita.

"Aslan ... Isn't that ...."

The girl could not continue her sentence.

"It has. Thats enough. Oma doesn't want to hear your drama anymore." Oma stopped Nandita's hanging speech. He looked at Nandita with a slightly different view than usual.

"Nandita, honestly Oma is offended by your rejection, as well as your lies. But this time, Oma forgives. Because Oma knows, Oma's grandson loves you so much. In the future, Oma doesn't want anything like this anymore. In this family, a relationship is not to be played with. So appreciate your relationship." He then rose to leave behind two human children with different expressions on their faces.

Scorching sun in spring, it was not too stinging to hit the face of the girl with black jeans. But the cool that was presented as a breeze, was not also able to dampen the disappointed rumble that stifled his chest.

Nandita stepped alone, hugging the sling bag of faithful leather accompanying her.

He left the house of Oma with a lump of regret, annoyed, and helpless.

Why is this the life he has to face?

Towards the nearest stop, the girl felt reluctant to return to the current onty Eby house. He decided to look for a different route, looking for a quieter place to think clearly.

The pace of the vehicle he was riding, taking Nandita down the winding road with natural scenery that spoils the eye. The hustle of the other passengers, did not bother him. He felt at home with his dream.

Down at one terminal, the girl stepped down the road alone, to a place she often visited when restless approached.

Nandita rested her body on one of the available benches. His gaze was straight ahead, yet his mind flashed to many places. Sometimes he was closed, when the breeze hit his smooth face.

Back rang the words of Aslan which made him unable to continue the conversation.

"What do you mean Aslan? Why not be honest? I came all the way here to tell Oma the truth. Why are you messing things up?"

The man didn't budge.

"I didn't expect you to admit this to me. That love cannot be forced by Aslan, even if I accept you, you will only get my body but not my heart." Nandita tried to give Aslan some understanding, restraining the resentment entrenched in her heart.

Can he forget that he is in a country of people? Wanted him to punch the beautiful face that looked at him without sin. But again, he was helpless in this country.

"What do you expect by telling these lies? Don't think I'll just shut up. Oma should know everything. I'll tell oma everything." Nandita rushed up to catch up with the old woman. All the annoyance he had spilled on Aslan. Now just dare to speak the truth. It is no longer necessary for him to feel shy or keep the feelings of others at this time.

"Go, tell me everything. And not only will you be hated by Oma, but surely onty Eby is also affected." Leisurely the man said, making Nandita freeze.

"What do you mean?"

"It's obvious, isn't it? Whatever you do, it will affect Oma's attitude towards onty Eby. Oma loving woman, yes. But he would love no one more than his own family. Understand what I mean, right?"

A thin grin rose at the corner of the man's lips.

"Oma's disappointment with you, could have been vented on onty Eby. After all, you are here because of him. So he's responsible for your actions."

Nandita's out of words. His mouth was tightly closed. Just a pushy look he gave to Aslan.

He then stepped into the kitchen to say goodbye to Oma and opa.

Without saying anything else, he left Aslan in the living room and stepped out of the house.

Ringing a cellphone in a bag that is still faithful in his arms, teasing Nandita until it awakens from daydreams.

"Hello onty," he said after receiving the call.

"Nandita, where are you? Oma said you've been back since?"

"Sorry onty, I forgot to tell you. I'm on the hill again. Maybe the afternoon is back." Legally.

"Oohs. Who are you there with? By himself? Be careful, son ...."

"Yes onty, don't worry."

The call then ended.

Nandita breathed heavily, the tightness of the sagging as if constricting the airways in her chest cavity.

Does living in a country of people weaken itself? Why are you so afraid of risks that may not happen?

But what if it really happened? Why involve onty Eby in matters of feelings and relationships that he does not accept this?

His phone clinks again, with no incoming messages.

💌 : "Guess who I am?" Fill Candra's message, really make him lazy to reply. Her best friend, since pregnant, really likes to do trivial things that are not important.

💌 : "Who" reply Nandita potluck. He did not even pin punctuation marks on his type, because honestly he was reluctant.

A photo was sent by the young mother.

Gunadh looks smiling looking at Satya. A dazzling smile yet implied the void there.

💌 : "I know you miss him, so I kindly send you the picture. Who knows, you can cure your miss. 🤭🤭" Candra captioned under the photo.

Nandita gently rubbed the image on her flat object.

This man is what he wanted, but why didn't he come to see him?

Is this miss just hers? Doesn't the same taste Gunadh feels for her right now?

💌 : "I'm no good at the moment." Nandita unknowingly writes the message to Candra.

Actually he wanted to complain to Gunadh, but he could not. And looking at the photo of the man made him accidentally pour out his heart.

Ringing cell phone call sign in, pulling back the girl from Gunadh's charm.

"Ta, what's wrong with you? Where else is this?" Candra's worried face is clearly visible, especially when she realizes that Nandita is outside the house.

"Huh yeah?" Nandita still does not understand the questions of her best friend.

"Where are you?!" Upset Candra

"Ooh, I'm on the hill again." His mouth while pointing the camera, circling it to some angle.

"You why? What's the matter? Did anyone hurt you?" No matter the scene Nandita presents, Candra again asks her friend's situation.
