Not Wanting (So) the Second
Chapter 47: Anna

Anna Valerie

Agam knelt down and stretched out his hands, then the girl threw a hug at him.

"Why is papa so long? Anna has been waiting a long time. Papa says just for a moment." whine the child in his right hand carrying the rabbit doll.

"Sorry, Papa has to take care of something." Agam rubbed the boy's head.

"Mas..?" Nisha nudged Agam's shoulder with her forehead folded.

Everyone is gathered in the family room. Nisha sat next to Agam. In front of them was Ambar, and Anna beside him. The little boy looked confused by this situation.

"Ma, you better get Anna in first. Let me explain this to Nisha."

Ambar moved, and took Anna up to her room.

Agam touching Nisha's knee, both of her eyeballs implied something quite curious.

"Honey.., I did intend to tell you after you were free. I'm honestly afraid you don't accept this situation."

"What's the matter exactly..?" Nisha grew curious, as Agam paused his words.

"Anna, her mother had brain cancer two years ago. After only a few months of treatment, his mother died. Because he often met me, Anna refused to be treated by anyone. She was a kara, so I took her home for a while. At least until his mental state improved. But as time went on, Anna made her own place in our hearts. The atmosphere of the house is quiet because you are not there, because Lukka began to mature. That sense of desolation was slightly colored due to Anna's presence."

"Where's Dad?" Nisha looked flat in response to that, but still her mind was a little stuck up. Especially considering why Agam did not tell this from the beginning.

"When her mother's condition was critical, no guardian came to Anna's mother."

Nisha took a deep breath. "So he really has no one..."

This made him think of Yasmine. A girl whose life is ruined. The door of his heart was knocked to approve what was Agam's decision.

"You don't mind Anna's presence, do you?" Agam lowered his head, highlighting the wife's seemingly empty face.

Although it was heavy, Nisha had to accept this. He will not be able to expel children whose age has not even seven years. Moreover, seeing Anna was already very close to Agam and his other family.

"But what about him? Will he get used to me?" Nisha was afraid that Anna would not be able to get along with her. Just like her who was never familiar with Farah, she said.

"I've told him a lot about you, shown him your picture, and even taught him to call you mama. I know it's gonna be awkward for you and Anna, but try to get along with her. I'm sure you'll be close."

"What about mama? Did he accept Anna too?" Ask Nisha again, was Ambar not the most opposed if Agam and Nisha to adopt a child?

"At first of course you were against it, but thankfully now you're starting to accept Anna."

Once again Nisha nodded heavily. "Alright, if this decision is already unanimous. I'll follow you, mas."

Agam looks relieved because Nisha wants to accept Anna, as their adopted child. However, as husband and wife, they did need a child to complete the marriage, and it was fortunate that Anna was there as a substitute for their children who had died before birth.

"By the way... How is Yasmine? Do you still see him often?"

Agam shook his head softly, "Since the last trial, he broke contact with us."

"Either... I don't think it's appropriate for a married man to look for another woman, while his wife is in jail." Agam developed an awkward smile. He no longer wanted to bother Yasmine. Either the girl lives comfortably or is stranded. I really don't want to bother him anymore.

"Is Nisha really coming home today? Where is she..?" Lukka who just came home immediately ran into the house of Agam.

When Bik Sati says Nisha is home, the boy goes straight to Agam's house.

"Sister Nisha...! Sister Nisha....!" Lukka was running fast when he saw Nisha's face there. He misses his sister-in-law very much. During Nisha's time in prison, Lukka only visited her twice, because Ambar strictly forbade Lukka to visit the dirty place.

"Lukka..." Nisha stood up, and welcomed her sister-in-law's warm embrace.

"I miss Nisha very much." Lukka was very happy, because he was finally able to regroup.

"Sister too.., but... What's wrong with you? Why do you call yourself I? "

Lukka let go of his embrace, then showed off the back of his suit that read Agro International. Yes, instead of going to college or following Ambar's request to become a Doctor. Lukka is now studying at one of the companies that sell a variety of plants. He was more interested in learning how to plant and care for all kinds of plants, rather than sitting on a university bench.

"I am an adult now, brother. Not a kid anymore. I'm developing a rare orchid, which is fantastic in value. If successful I'll get a certificate to join the company directly."

"wahho... That's grand. It turns out you've changed a lot." Nisha was amazed at the drastic changes that Lukka experienced.

"Lukka, shouldn't you take a shower before you hug your sister? Look at your pants, filled with rice husks." Agam broke the warm reunion of brother and sister.

"he.. Then excuse me..." Lukka ran up the stairs to his room.

"Hey..! Where are you going with those dirty pants!" pekik Agam.

"My clothes are here, I will sleep here tonight." Lukka said without looking down.

Lukka entered his room, his heart is really happy today because of Nisha's return. Now the house will be crowded again. There's Nisha and Anna who will color her family.

But unfortunately another one really went far. Although for a while, the person has made most of Lukka's heart feel empty.

"Where are you now...?" he stared blankly out the window. Almost all the places in this city he had explored, but he had never met Yasmine.

Should he start looking out of town? Or abroad all? Was there really no trace in Yasmine's heart over their memories? Or indeed Yasmine only considers Lukka as a child, whose memories are not so meaningful.

.

.

Elsewhere, Yasmine was walking in the afternoon while enjoying the sunset. A dense orange beam bounces off the river water that is very clear. Flowers along the road swayed in the breeze.

Some people had picnics with their families and spouses in the park around the river.

"ahhh. I will miss the Indonesian wind." he breathed in the fresh breeze.

His savings were enough to take him to fly to the dream country, Japan. With the skills he had, he applied to one of the companies in Japan. Why so far away? Why should it be in japan?

In addition to the dream country, Yasmine also wants to pit her fate there. Companies in Indonesia will not accept people who only graduate High School, however much their ability will be inferior to those with undergraduate degrees. But not abroad, after taking the tests given by the company, he was received with a fairly good value.

Tomorrow was the day of his departure, for that he purposely took a walk in the afternoon for the last time. Because he's not going back there.
