Olavia
At some point, I woke up and saw the large body of Angga bending over Oleander's bed. She was talking in such a soft voice while occasionally stroking my baby using her fingertips. It was a funny sight as well as tear-fishing.
Angga is a good man. Too good in fact. And that thought reminded me of the words I had spoken to her before.
I've never really apologized to him for any of that.
"I'm sorry, Ngga."
Hearing my voice, Angga suddenly looked up. "Eh, Honey? I don't know if you're awake" he said with a sigh as he straightened up and walked closer to me. Instantly, the smile on his face faded, replaced with a forehead that turned wrinkled. "Cok you're sorry, anyway? Apologize for what?"
After putting a kiss on my forehead, the guy turned to Oleander and his eyes were rounded. "Oh!" Angga. He then began to speak nervously. "I ... sorry. You sure don't like seeing what I did just now, huh? I'm just making Ole talk, really, Yang. She ... she didn't wake up, you were calm. I just wanted to talk to him, so .. so ...."
"Hey, no." I circled her waist using both arms. "Not that."
"I'm sorry. I ... I haven't had the same baby experience. But, I promise to learn and be your most competent assistant" he continued. Angga still messing around.
"No!" This time I pinched his stomach, but it didn't work. Why is he still this fit, anyway? Even though two weeks yesterday can be said he just because I continue. When did he have time for sports?
"Ow!" screeches with joking.
I pat him again because he was upset. He made me feel bad. "Observe you, yes."
Angga laughed at the threat of my least intentions and placed his butt on the edge of the bed beside me. His body is facing me.
Silence in kalakian down. I exhaled a long breath. Admitting a mistake is hard for me, in case you haven't caught it from all the actions I've done before. However, a man like Angga did not deserve to be treated that way. He has done his best for me. I also need to start doing something for him.
It starts with apologizing. "I'm .. sorry for everything I said to you back then, in front of Ms. Lina again. I ... I was carried away by emotions. I ... I let the anger control all my speech. I ... sorry, Ngga. And, for your info, I've actually been feeling sorry since I got in the car upon my return from the restaurant. But, yes. I'm going crazy. I don't want to heed the signs given by the world."
"Hey, Honey. Stop. You can't talk about that. I–"
"Noah-uh." I stopped his sentence and shook my head. "Just .. let me get this out of my chest, okay? Pleases. I need to get this out of my chest."
He took my hand and then frowned at the back of it. "Okay. Okay." okay."
"I don't understand what happened to me before. Suddenly you came back to my life after ten years had passed. Like, what? Those ten years you were desperately trying to avoid me, then when I was close to someone, you thought you could directly interfere with that? No ba bi bu, no excuse, no apologies and no explanation. What do you think I am? Who do you think you are? And, with a very, very, very nice attitude again."
She laughs.
"But, I guess, I was still hurting. And meeting you, makes the pain even more so. So, you know, hurt people hurt people." I put my shoulders down. "I'm sorry for saying such evil things to you. If I look with my glasses now, I'm just saying those things because I want to convince myself that it's the truth. Though, deep down, it wasn't. So, yeah, I'm sorry. And to see you here, with us, after all of that .... God." God."
He captured the meaning of my residence. "Marr ...." The man nodded, then he laughed. "That's pretty heavy for a very late night chat" he said with a faint smile.
Whats? "What time is it?" It didn't occur to me to check the time when I woke up earlier. My attention has been distracted by the view ahead.
Angga checked the clock on his hand. "Half three. Early morning."
Oh, my God. I really didn't know it was that late. "Why haven't you slept yet?" todong.
Again, he just put his shoulders down. "I've finished the call with papa and your mama, keep the same Oliver. He's gonna get a red eye tomorrow, uh, today. Om same aunt can not exchange flights, so they remain on schedule. It's okay, huh, Yang? He said he wanted videocall. I also sent them a picture of Ole. Sorry, I didn't wait for your permission first."
"No, it's okay." I'm shaking. I can't stop thinking about what this guy did. While I was asleep, he was busy contacting Papa, Mama, and Bang Oli to tell them about Oleander's birth.
I also feel very appreciated because he does not want to treat Oleander at will. He won't touch Oleander without my permission. She .. was able to make me feel so meaningful.
"Thanks, yes, no, you helped me a lot today. Thank you for bothering."
Soon Angga denied my words. "Come on, honey. We talked about this, right? I don't bother, anyway. Seriously. So, stop saying that. I don't want to hear it any more than this. You hear me, Olavia Marie Arifin?"
Welp! If Angga has issued a style of calling his full name, it means he is very serious about what is said. "Okay. Thanks." Thanks."
"Stop!" I looked at my eyes straight.
"Okay, okay. I'll stop." I defied his gaze.
Staring competition this time feels different. No more hatred fuels the ego. There is no desire to come out as a winner. Now, the longer we looked at each other, the harder it was to hold back the laughter.
In the end we gave up on Kakah.
I was greeted by the sound of a baby crying.
At once we were silent. Angga immediately stood up and headed to Oleander's bed. On top of the baby, he looked up. "I can ...?"
"Oh, you stop." I protested. "From now on you don't need permission if you want to hold Oleander. Got it?"
The smirk that was sprawled on his handsome face could easily illuminate the entire room. "Got it."
