Chapters. 8. What Truth, This?

Finally they all gathered in the living room and sat down at their respective places. Of course the atmosphere became very tense, making anyone who was in that place become uncertain uneasy.

Calvin kept glancing towards Zanna who was currently looking straight ahead, right opposite Rere. Meanwhile, Rere himself kept his head down because he was unable to deal with Zanna.

"When do you want to shut up, Calvin? What until I destroy this place?" zanna said sarcastically as she glanced at Calvin.

Glug.

Calvin swallowed his saliva violently. "N-no, Honey. I, I'm just afraid that you'll be mad at me."

"Don't you later, now I've been dying to kill you, Calvin."

Glug.

Everyone in the room was horrified by what Zanna said, including Lasmi who actually knew nothing about all this.

"What is this, Calvin, Rere? Why are you guys being like this?" lasmi asked confusedly. He clasped the princess' hand making Rere sob immediately.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry. This is all my fault" Rere said.

Zanna clenched her hands together furiously. Right now he wanted to hear their excuses, instead of such unimportant cries.

"Quick explain all this before I lose my temper, Calvin!" zanna's shout made everyone's body jump in shock. His face was already flushed red withstanding the anger that had ruled the body and soul ever since.

Calvin quickly tightened his body onto Zanna's body with a panicked face. "Honey-Honey. I'm sorry, I, I have to marry Rere."

Deg.

"W-what?" Zanna looked at Calvin with a look of disbelief. His eyes were perfectly rounded with his mouth also open. "W-what, are you crazy?"

Calvin shook his head with a sad face. "I had to, honey. I was forced to marry him because I promised his late father to always take care."

Zanna raised her hand to stop what Calvin wanted her to say. "You, you said you had to marry her?" Zanna pointed right at Rere who was currently sobbing in her mother's arms.

"Take me, Calvin!" zanna shouted again which was immediately answered with a nod of the man's head.

"I'm sorry, honey. Me, I just meant to help them. I don't have any feelings for her, I'm really just helping,"

"Helped in the way she married him, you mean?" Zanna looked at her husband in disbelief. How could the man lose his mind like this?

Calvin speechless. She is confused what else to say to Zanna, as she has already promised Rere's late father to marry the woman.

Lasmi who had been silent since then began to raise her voice. "Areally who is this woman, Calvin boy? Why are you guys like this?"

Zanna immediately smiled smirkily. "You're still asking who am I when you've seen it all?" He felt that everyone in this room was completely insane. "Then listen to me carefully"

"Darling, let me just yang-"

"Shut up, Calvin!" Zanna threw out the hand of the man who wanted to grab his hand.

"It's all my fault, ma'am. Let me talk to Mom, I-"

Deg.

Rere instantly shut his mouth upon hearing Zanna's words, while the woman stared at him sharply.

"Actually what kind of woman are you, who still dares to talk in front of the woman you've hurt, huh?" Zanna clenched her hands tightly, her chest rising up and down holding back the emotion that was burning her heart at the moment.

"Darling, listen to me first,"

"Enough, that's enough!" yelled Zanna while rubbing her face violently. He had been patient because he wanted to hear an explanation from Calvin, but what did he get? They seem to be playing tricks on him.

"Alright, just keep going what you want to do." Zanna immediately grabbed her bag on the table and left the place.

Of course Calvin immediately blocked Zanna's hand, and did not allow the woman to leave.

"Take me off." She rebelled as Calvin hugged her body tightly.

"No, I'm not gonna let you go, honey,"

"What more do you want, Calvin? Just let me go and take care of that woman, aren't you getting married?" zanna said bitterly. His heart ached painfully as it sliced out words that were like poison in his heart.

"No, Honey. Please listen to me first." Calvin then looks at Rere and immediately tells the woman to get out of her apartment, while taking Lasmi as well.

"But Mas-"

"Get out, Rere!" calvin snapped and Rere was scared, and the woman came out with her mother as well.

Zanna rebelled so strongly that she let the man's embrace loose. "Why, why did you throw him out, Calvin?" He smiled cynically.

"Darling, please listen to me first." Calvin tries to grab Zanna's hand but the woman pulls him back.

"Hearing your nonsensical remarks, is that it?" cynical Zanna.

Calvin rubbed his face violently. "I caused Rere's father to die."

"What?" Zanna was shocked when she heard what Calvin said.

"Yes, Zanna. I've made that woman's father go away." Calvin breathed out harshly. "I accidentally bumped into him on my way home from work a few months ago, and since then he's been in a coma."

Zanna was astonished by what Calvin said. His entire body suddenly became stiff, with breath as if stuck in the throat.

"At the end of his life, he asked me to look after Rere. He also asked me to marry him."
