I feel like this room is so stuffy. As if there was no oxygen I could breathe, my chest felt increasingly claustrophobic. The tears I couldn't stop had soaked Dimas' shirt. Yes, the man still hugged me tightly.
"This place is not comfortable for you. We'd better get back in the room." Dimas seemed to know what I was feeling and I needed, he helped me stand up and pushed me out of the place that almost made me out of breath.
"I'll just go home, I'm afraid Rama took Susan from me. Please let me go home." These lips quivered every time I spoke, I could feel Dimas clasping my hands tightly.
"So, is that the man who was the reason you were there?" Dimas didn't heed my request. With one hand he opened the door of the room and sat me on the sofa.
"I've made a mistake. I was too rash until all the evidence I had was taken. Susan is my only hope and passion. But, Rama wants custody too."
I cried while hiding my face behind my palm. Confused where I complained and asked for help. Not long after, my hand reached Dimas. The man gave me a gallon of water that seemed to have just been taken from a dispenser in the corner of the room.
"Drink, after that tell me what makes you this confused," said Dimas, there was not the face of the leader I saw, but the face of the man who cared so much for me. I flinch for a moment considering whether I should tell her my problem.
Rama brought the end of the glass he held to my lips. "Drink a little." It was the first time I drank from another man's hand. I really can't think any clearer.
"Thank you" I said, wiping away tears. I stared at Dimas after the man sat down before me.
My hands crumple to each other. Between confusion and nervousness it feels like these lips cannot be opened. I try to breathe in as much air as possible and then I exhale slowly. After feeling calmer, I ventured to speak.
"I decided to accept my father's offer to use a lawyer, because I thought it was the right choice. Because I don't have much money to pay a competent lawyer. I've decided to sue bang Rama. But, now all the evidence of his affair with Citra had been taken. Now, I'm at risk of losing Susan's custody."
I cried again in front of Dimas. The fear of losing Susan made me lose my spirit. Guilt cannot be removed from me. What if in court I lose?
"So that's why you're crying like this? Your husband was having an affair with Citra?" Dimas clucked while clenching his hands. "Not shameless!" There is a tinge of emotion in every sentence.
"If they are proven to be corrupt, Rama asked me not to report them to the police. Rama will take custody of Susan if I don't comply with her request! I was confused as to which one to choose. I don't want my personal business to hurt your company. I can't lose Susan. Now, what should I do?"
Dimas flinching to see me, I don't know what's on his mind. Then the man moved to sit behind his desk. Contacting someone while opening a laptop.
After ending the short conversation over the phone. Dimas' eyes focused on the flat screen. His face looked red and serious.
"You still have proof, Rima. This cctv footage could incriminate your husband. For a while we forget the alleged corruption they have committed. Just focus on your divorce. My lawyer's on his way here. I'll make sure Susan's custody falls into your hands."
The words of Dimas revived my hope that had died. I don't know what good I did in the past until now there are good people who want to help me out of trouble.
