CHAPTER 34: VALENTINE'S DAY

Finally the long-awaited day arrived. February 14th is the day when all the people of the world celebrate their day by saying loving words and doing things that are meaningful to their loved ones. No one wants to miss this moment.

Ever since setting foot in the schoolyard, a pair of Neutra Arunika kept catching the interaction of the students exchanging chocolates. It certainly carved a small smile on his face and made the thought to fill this day with excitement alone. Then he accelerated his pace towards the OSIS room.

"Happy valentine's day everyone!" arunika shouted from the front door, attracting the attention of everyone there.

"Happy valday too, Run." Hera was the first to reply, followed by the other members. After that, Arunika placed a medium-sized paper bag on top of the only table in the room.

"One person took one chocolate, yes," Pinta Arunika with her bright smile, the remark certainly made her team smile surprised as well as happy. They simultaneously thanked the chairman and were replied to a nod by Arunika.

Hera walked up to the friend and stood next to him. The two women looked at the members of OSIS who alternately took the chocolate given by Arunika.

"You remember your promise turned out," chirped Hera who made Arunika glance at him with a thin smile, then nodded slowly.

"How could I forget it." At the first meeting of the OSIS after Arunika was appointed as leader, Arunika promised to give chocolate to all members on the day of affection because he was willing to follow Arunika for the next year. Hence, when Arunika said that, all the members of OSIS were surprised, they were moved by Arunika still remembering the promise he said. By the way, why promise to give it to me on Valentine's Day? I don't know, Arunika also doesn't know the reason, maybe to make it feel more special?

"So, have you checked all the correctness of the buyer and recipient information?" arunika asked about the hampers that will be sent to the owner in a few hours.

"Already, everything is safe" Fernando replied as he showed his two thumbs. Arunika nodded in understanding, then turned her eyes to Della.

"Content on social media is safe, right?" ask Arunika back to make sure there are no problems in Unspoken Words activities. Della gives the answer by uniting her thumb and index finger into one so that it forms a round, then stretching her other three fingers—gestur hand 'OK'.

Arunika smiled with satisfaction and then patted her hand while exhaling a sigh of relief. Seeing Arunika clapping made everyone applaud, of course they understood the meaning of the applause.

"Thank you so much for your hard work over the past few weeks. Although this event is not as big as other events, I am happy to see your effort on the project this time. There is one last step left and after that you can be as happy as possible, before returning busy with the midterms." There was a whimper of dislike from some members after Arunika finished her last sentence. Arunika chuckles to hear her members ask her not to remind them of the exam.

After that, Arunika extended her hand forward with the back of her hand facing the sky. Soon one by one the members of OSIS do the same thing so that the hand is stacked on top of the other hand. Arunika looked slowly at the people around her.

"OSIS WG SHS ...." With the spirit of Arunika started their slogan, which was then continued compactly and loudly by all members of OSIS.

"Cheers, cheers, cheers!" There was a resounding clap of applause that was the closing of the slogan.

After saying that, they slowly left the OSIS room because the business was over. Arunika and Hera become the last two members to leave because they have to lock the room. During the trip to class, the two often get happy valentine from other students. Of course it was answered kindly by Arunika and Hera.

"You really are the flower of this school village, Run," teased Hera after seeing all the gifts that Arunika received from her secret admirer. Arunika shook her head slowly, rejected the nickname, then sat on her stool and began to open the letter one by one. Sometimes he laughs when he reads a letter that he finds funny. Actually, all the letters do not continue to contain expressions of feelings of like and admiration, sometimes some say thank you for being helped or so on. The heart of the woman warmed, it turned out that many people were happy with her presence.

Suddenly there was a knock three times from the door of Arunika and Hera's class. Yeah, who else if not Gavin, Maverick, and Floyd. Arunika immediately smiled widely and told the three to enter the classroom. The three men also complied.

"Come, change the chocolate!" take Maverick enthusiastically when you arrive in front of two female friends. The five teenagers exchanged chocolates while remembering the happy moments of their friendship over the past few years. These five people never expected to be close friends, but previously only knew each other.

When he finished, Gavin quietly watched Arunika who was talking to Maverick, then he realized something.

"Run, why wear a cardigan? Not feeling well?" Gavin's question immediately attracted the attention of others and realized they would look Arunika who is not as usual. Rarely does Arunika wear a jacket in her daily life.

Arunika shook her head slowly and replied, "just feel like today's air is colder than usual, so I want to wear a jacket." The answer was answered with a nod of understanding by his four friends.

"If you feel unwell, go straight to the UKS, yes," said Gavin in a soft tone as he gently rubbed Arunika's back, who was given a nod of attention. Then Gavin shifted his focus to Hera, Maverick, and Floyd who had been silent since then to look at his tender actions on Arunika. The three people gave Gavin a look with all sorts of meanings.

Gavin stopped the rubbing on Arunika's back and cleared his throat, leaving Arunika perplexed as she suddenly felt a strange aura around her.

"Why are you guys staring at Gavin like that?" asked Arunika while raising one eyebrow. Hera, Maverick, and Floyd shook their heads noisily.

"It's okay, it's okay," they replied simultaneously. Of course the answer was not able to fade Arunika's suspicions so that the woman still maintained her unsure face while alternately staring at her four friends.

In order to distract Arunika, Hera instead said a sentence that might invite a new feeling in Gavin.

"Arunika got a lot of chocolates, flowers, and letters, you see, from her secret admirers."

If you ask why Hera said that, of course to see Gavin's reaction. And sure enough, the man was now silent as he tried to digest the information that Hera had just revealed. Moments later, Gavin looked at Hera with a look as if to say, why are you like this to me?

Hera realized the signal from that gaze so she laughed inwardly. It seems like Maverick and Floyd can also capture the inner communication between Gavin and Hera so they laugh along. As they tease Gavin in silence, they leave Arunika standing in the middle with a big question mark over her head.
