"Sir, Miss Rebecca called you to the greenhouse." A polite pitched voice followed the knock three times on the door of Gavin's private studio. The young man gave a rude snort when he heard the name of the woman who had been his mother for seven years.
Not hearing a reply, the waiter standing at the door knocked back and called out to him, Gavin finally replied, "alright, I'll be there." Without babibu, he stood up from his seat in front of the piano and walked out of his room.
During the walk, Gavin's eyes are spoiled by the view of the courtyard which looks very cared for by the park rangers. In his heart, he hoped that one 'it' plant could grow in this beautiful courtyard, unfortunately, it was the only plant that was forbidden to appear in the house like the mansion. Gavin could only smile bitterly and accelerate his steps towards a dome-shaped place with glass as its walls.
Various types of flowers fill the house, it is also seen that they are very cared for, showing how unfortunately the owner. But Gavin ignored the flowers and walked straight towards the woman with a beautiful look. The way the woman's eyes and the way she stroked the flower in front of her showed that she was the owner of all the flowers in the dome.
"You still wear school uniforms?" The woman turned her back and smiled when she saw Gavin flat-looking standing about three steps away from her.
"Why call me, Rebecca?" As if not hearing Rebecca's question, Gavin overcame her with a to-the-point question, making the four-headed woman curse at her heart.
"Why do you still call me by name? My heart became sad," Rebecca said as she held onto her chest.
"If there's nothing you want to ask, I'll go." Gavin turned his back and was ready to walk away. But Rebecca's voice held him back.
"How old are you now?" ask Rebecca seriously. Gavin snorted mockingly.
"Don't know the age of the child but hoping to be called mother" said Gavin, who made Rebecca's eyebrows twitch.
"Jawab, boy."
"Sixteen." Rebecca nodded in understanding.
"Sit down first," Rebecca asked as she pointed at the empty seat in front of her. Gavin looked at her suspiciously, but eventually followed the woman's words.
"Do you have a boyfriend?" Gavin grew suspicious when he heard the question and inexplicably, his premonition was unpleasant.
"It doesn't seem like it, yeah." Rebecca immediately concluded when she saw Gavin's suspicious gaze, plus there was one factor that corroborated her conclusion.
"Why?" Finally, Gavin opened his voice. Rebecca smiled gently and drank the warm tea from her cup in a very graceful and classy manner.
"You want to meet the children of my friends?" That's when Gavin realized where the conversation was going. Without waiting for long he immediately stood up with a hardened face.
"You want to match me? I'm sixteen years old!" he said in a loud voice and almost sounded like a voice of anger.
"Then tell them to stop taking care of my personal life. It's not his time to be a matchmaker." Rebecca put down her cup and raised her head slightly to look into Gavin's eyes.
"You know how many times they say it, they won't hear it, Gavin." One sentence full of that fact made Gavin put both his hands on the table and lowered his head while laughing.
"For the first time I agree with you" Gavin commented while still laughing. Rebecca looked at him with an indecipherable look.
"They don't want a marriage like your father and mother to happen again." Gavin's laughter stopped immediately, he raised his head, and gave a sharp look.
"Don't say as if my father and mother's marriage was a mistake, they married out of love and there's nothing wrong with that." Rebecca smiled casually and raised both of her shoulders.
"But to them, your father and mother's marriage was a fatal mistake. For them, their gifted and gifted offspring should not be with ordinary women and tend to live in deprivation." Gavin was silent to hear it. A moment of his heart agreed to the word, while his logic balked.
"You as hard as you can say about your mother's kindness, they will forever close their eyes and ears, because what? Because from the beginning your mother never got into their criteria. Their main criterion is the last name here" said the woman with a forefinger pressing on Gavin's right chest, where her name label is attached.
Gavin quickly brushed Rebecca's finger off her chest, "enough, Rebecca," she said with a stern face. Rebecca lowered her hand and went back to sipping her tea with a calm face.
"Sir Gavin?" Gavin looked over when he felt himself being called. About five steps away from him, a little boy stands with a toy truck in his arms. A second later Gavin's expression instantly changed from full of firmness to full of gentleness.
"Erlan's? Why is it here?" Gavin approached the boy and knelt one foot to equalize his height, then gently held the shoulders of Erlano, the son of Rebecca and Harris, and his half-sister Gavin.
"Erlan had gone to the studio to get her to play, but she wasn't there. Then Erlan heard that brother was here with mama, so Erlan came here," Erlano explained with his slurred voice, making Gavin smile gently, lifting him up and putting him in a sling.
"But it seems like big brother is still talking to mama, it's okay to continue, Erlan can wait," an understanding speech with an innocent expression made Gavin even more anxious with him. He stroked his bright brown hair slowly and stared into those blue eyes.
"Sister's done talking to your mother, so come on, let's play together." Erlano's smile was immediately broken, although his lips said that he could wait, he was still happy if it was not needed.
"Mama, Erlan played with brother Gavin first, yeah!" pamit Erlan was full of enthusiasm, he waved his hand at Rebecca who had since noticed the interaction of two children with the age of about nine years. Unlike Erlano who gave a feisty speech, Gavin only lowered his head once with a flat face and walked leaving Rebecca carrying Erlano. Rebecca could sense how close the two men were just by looking at their interactions.
"Why can you accept my son but not accept me?" muttered Rebecca with a wry face.
Ever since Rebecca set foot in her husband's home in England nine years ago, Rebecca has never understood why Gavin is so hard to accept. At first he thought because Gavin was still imagined by the figure of his mother, of course Rebecca could understand that. Losing the person who is the strongest grip on life is certainly very painful. However, year after year passed and Gavin still could not accept it. Rebecca asked in her heart, What's wrong with her?
