“Can't you control your emotions? Notice also how your wife got hurt and sick like that. People talk about you and it makes our family's reputation bad. Your attitude embarrassed me,” Miss Castor's scolding of Titus.
The atmosphere of the breakfast meal turned tense. Lord Castor did not say much and only listened to his wife nagging their first son. Marcus and his wife seemed unconcerned. The Castor family's second son did not like to interfere in other people's problems. While Damian pretended to focus on his dessert, he continued to enjoy the drama that morning.
Titus' face flushed red with anger. He doesn't like to be cornered in front of a lot of people. But his mother always did that over and over again.
“Mom doesn't know what my household problems are like. Should not need to interfere,” said Titus with ketus.
Carlos nodded furiously. “I won't interfere if you can keep your attitude. Your domestic affairs should not be public consumption if only you did not make trouble,” he said sharply.
Titus kicked down the table and stood up from his seat. Everyone at the dining table, including the servants standing behind the table, gasped in shock. The face of Lord Castor, the head of the family turned furious. He looked at Titus angrily as he spoke sharply.
“Do not act in front of your parents, Titus,” growled his father wrathfully.
“I'm done eating,” said Titus stubbornly. He then left the dining room upset.
The atmosphere of the morning was completely messy. Damian's father and mother no longer have a taste for food. Tension was still left at the dining table, and so Damian was also forced to stop bribing his soberts solely so as not to make the atmosphere awkward.
“Why do you have to discuss that at the dinner table, Lauren?” lord Castor's rebuke to his wife.
Madam Castor immediately turned to her husband with a fiery expression. “This is all because you never paid any attention to children. You are always busy working and never have time for them. You don't think I'm ashamed that everyone talks about your son's behavior. Arabela's entire body was covered in bruises and wounds. People can't notice that shameful thing. They will only use this opportunity to bring us down,” lamented Mrs Castor at length.
The head of the family breathed a tired sigh. “Your imagination is too much,” the comment is short. Lord Castor wiped his mouth with a napkin and prepared to leave. He seemed to have no appetite to finish his breakfast.
“Because of your attitude that our children grow up to be dissidents. They do have a good job, but their personalities are really bad,”, Lady Castor did not stop nagging.
Lord Castor decided not to take his wife. He stood up from his seat at the end of the dining table and left without saying a word.
“See your father. Because of his attitude like that Titus became so stubborn and unruly. Though he already had a child,” grumbled Madam Castor nonstop.
“Already, Mother. Don't grumpy. If mom nags and keeps wrinkles on mom's face will increase.” Marcus, the second son, commented.
Mrs Castor looked unhappy. It automatically holds its own face which actually does not look old because it is supported by a thick glamorous makeup.
Marcus chuckled a little at the expression of his mother who turned anxious. He could not help but tease his mother whenever the opportunity arose.
“Let me talk to brother. The past few days it seems like big brother is having a lot of trouble with the members of the Legislative Council. Maybe the pressure of work makes it hard to be nice. I'll try to help him as much as I can. I'm calm,” Marcus said later. After teasing his mother, Marcus can always come up with a solution.
Madam Castor's expression softened. He was finally able to smile after a while ago looking so upset. “Thank you, Marcus. I can always count on you,” said the mother while looking warmly at her second son.
Damian doesn't like that. Muffling the atmosphere just for the sake of maintaining a harmonious atmosphere does not solve the problem at all. The wrong people should be punished properly. Not just being advised, let alone being helped.
Finally, the breakfast is over. Damian was getting ready to continue his work when he heard a knock from his bedroom door.
“Yes. Login,” Damian says short.
The door opened and Marcus emerged from behind the door. The man smiled at Damian and walked in before being invited. Damian sighed softly, a little lazy to deal with his older brother.
“You're leaving already, Damian?” satu Marcus while spelling out Damian's fingers in front of the mirror, looking at himself while wearing a long black coat.
“Iya, Brother. There's a case I'm dealing with,” Damian replied short.
“Is that? Looks like you're very busy, yes,” comments Marcus while embracing his sister familiarly.
Damian didn't try to escape. He could only complain in his heart. Damian doesn't like dealing with his second brother. Marcus is a difficult person to deal with. Marcus' calm and indifferent nature always leaves Damian at a loss for words. Marcus is a hard person to influence.
“Yah, passable.” Once again Damian only answered briefly. There was nothing he could discuss with Marcus.
“Then you better focus on your work. Use your abilities in the constitution. Don't take it home. Your habit is making our home worse,” Marcus said as he gripped Damian on the shoulder.
This also includes things Damian dislikes from Marcus. His brother could always read the situation. He knew that Damian was behind their family quarrel this morning. Therefore Marcus came to him and intimidated Damian personally like that.
Damian just took a deep breath, trying not to be affected. “This is not what you think,” turn to Damian in the quietest voice possible.
Marcus snorted shortly. “Stop instigating mom to humiliate our first sister. You know what mother nature is, and use it to make you feel uncomfortable. If you feel uncomfortable with our family members, you should talk directly to the person concerned. Or else you can talk to me about it. Maybe I can help.
“But speaking ill of others behind their backs, it was not a wise act, Damian. You're just gonna split our family apart. Isn't it enough to get Balbina evicted from home?” marcus is serious.
Damian gulped with a mute. The third thing he hated about Marcus was his brother's ability to read his gestures. Damian was almost at a loss for words, but he could not allow himself to be persecuted like that.
“I'm just talking about facts, brother. There's nothing wrong with what I said,” Damian was stubborn.
Marcus snorted small. “Not all truth contains goodness. Be wise in conveying something,” he said with a smile.
Marcus pats Damian on the shoulder. “Happy work, Damian. Have a nice day,” he said then walked out of the room, leaving Damian who now feels like he has been defeated.
