CHAPTER 15: Being Number One

Fisa had been waiting for Jormac to arrive in the hut for a long time, until he finally asked Jormac when he had come with curiosity, "Who are you bringing here?"

Jormac smiled and replied, "This is Harley Jaw, a reliable hacker who will help us in our mission. He's the key to getting the information we need."

Fisa, with her cold demeanor, seemed to doubt the presence of Harley Jaw. He mocked Jormac in a condescending tone, "You really think this little girl can help us? Your taste is really bad."

"Huh?! Whatchu mean? You want to fight?!" Harley who was offended by Fisa's taunts, immediately inflamed and invited Fisa to a fight. However, Fisa only chuckled and looked at Harley with a sharp gaze, "Killing you is an easy thing, so don't think that you can get away from me."

Jormac tries to calm the tense situation between Harley and Fisa. But the situation escalates when Harley turns around and threatens to leak data about Fisa and Jormac.

Hearing the threat, Fisa did not look frightened, instead she looked at Harley with a sharp gaze while giving a threat back, "I will kill you first before you can do it."

Jormac tried hard to calm Fisa and Harley who continued to clash their mouths and ridicule each other. However, the quarrel intensified, until finally, Jormac reached the limit of his patience. He forcefully took a gun from the hut and pointed it at Harley, trying to end the quarrel in a drastic way.

Jormac told Harley, "Harley Jaw, remember your purpose. If you're angry just because you're being underestimated, how are you going to be number one?" Hearing Jormac's words, Harley began to ponder and tried to calm herself down.

Then, Jormac rebuked Harley further, "Don't apologize to me, apologize to Fisa!" In a stern tone, he asked Harley to apologize to Fisa. Harley who was already feeling guilty lowered her head and solemnly said her apology to Fisa because of her unwise actions.

"Yes, whatever! Then Jormac, can you explain the situation?" ask Fisa.

"Yes, let me explain" replied Jormac.

Jormac begins to explain the situation to Fisa, telling him how he was on Staten Island and meets Harry. He explains how he had saved Harry from being shoved and got some preliminary information about Harley Jaw from the girl. Jormac details what he has learned about Harley Jaw, that he is a reliable hacker who is very careful and loner.

He then explains a few things about Harley, including that the girl went to New York with a big purpose. Jormac tries to convince Fisa that Harley has potential that could be very useful to their team, though his looks may be deceiving.

After hearing Jormac's explanation and story, Fisa, with her sharp gaze, asked Harley directly about the meaning of his words that said that Jormac was a victim of his ignorance. Harley felt pressured and afraid to answer Fisa's question. However, Jormac who was standing next to her gave her encouragement and calmed her down.

After feeling a little bolder, Harley finally answered hesitantly, telling her that she deliberately leaked the secrets the New York government had. He explained that the secret he had revealed was about Spirit Energy, and when the 1000x Nuclear organization heard about the great potential of that Spirit Energy, it was, the organization, which was previously dead, is now resurrected with the intention to create weapons of mass destruction. Thus, Harley seemed to have accidentally triggered the return of the dangerous organization.

Fisa asked the question in a flat tone, as if she was holding deep anger. He never expected that this little girl was the mastermind behind his prison and Jormac. Fisa asked, "So, you're the one who got Jormac jailed, when he was innocent? And the same thing happened to me?"

Harley replied regretfully, "Yes, it's me." Harley explained that her goal is to become number one and be recognized by the world, perhaps even into the Guinness World Records. That way, his name would be known by many people.

Fisa listened to Harley's story seriously and then asked firmly, "Are you sorry?" Harley replied sincerely, "I'm so sorry, I didn't even expect that the matter would become this complex."

Fisa reminds Harley that she must make amends by working with them, Jormac and Fisa, to prevent the threat of Spirit Energy that could threaten the world. Then Harley agreed and promised to do everything necessary to make amends.

Then Fisa extended her hand to Harley and smiled gently, "Then, greetings, Harley Jaw! My name is Fisa McLanne, you can call me Fisa." Harley kindly replied, "Greetings know too, Fisa. I'm Harley Jaw, call me Harley."

The two of them shook hands with great relief at finally being able to work together on their arduous mission.

Finished with Harley's business, Fisa now sincerely apologized and faced Jormac, "Sorry, Jormac, if I mocked your bad taste earlier. I realized that your choice was not bad. How about you find someone with other special skills to join us?" Jormac nodded in agreement and said, "No problem, you can count on me!"

"People with special skills, can you explain it in more detail, Fisa?" ask Harley.

"Yes, maybe people who have experience in difficult missions, for now, we need a spy" answered Fisa.

Harley who was interested in Fisa's request regarding a spy expert immediately started working. He opened his laptop, typed in a series of codes, and accessed a seemingly deeply hidden site. Quickly, he popped up a list of the names and faces of several people on his laptop screen.

The curious Fisa asked Harley about what she was doing. Harley explained calmly, "This is a list of the spies who have been caught and have now been imprisoned. They have valuable experience that we can use for this mission."

Fisa and Jormac are shocked to see the list, realizing that they will be teaming up with the captured spy.

Then Fisa forcefully asked Harley, "Of all the spies on the screen, which one is the most skilled?"

Harley thought for a moment before replying, "Maybe Ryosuke Aka, a man of Japanese American descent. He was arrested for espionage. Based on the data here, Ryosuke Aka managed to prevent a cold war that occurred on the border of South Korea and North Korea."

Hearing that explanation from Harley, Fisa immediately made a decision. He tells Jormac to devise a strategy for Ryosuke Aka's release. Jormac was somewhat surprised by the order and asked why he should do it.

But Fisa answered steadily, "You are a suitable person for this task, Jormac. You have the skills and experience you need. In addition, this is our chance to add more experienced members. We should make the most of it."

"Alright, I understand," Jormac said with a smile.
