Spirit Energy
Chapter 2: Life in Prison

Jormac Seil soon realizes that his life has turned into a nightmare ever since he was first taken to this prison. In the eyes of other prisoners, he was not an innocent office clerk; he was an errand boy, a man suspected of having valuable information. Jormac was seen as a figure who could provide an escape from boredom and prison monotony.

Every day, other prisoners approach him with requests and pressure to reveal any secrets he may have.

"Jormac, you must know something. Speak up!" insist on a large prisoner with a harsh look.

Jormac, with a tired look, resolutely refused. "I don't know anything. I'm here for no apparent reason, just like you."

They ridicule and humiliate him, forcing Jormac to live a life of physical and mental torment.

One of the less friendly guards approached him and sneered, "How does it feel, errand boy? Accustomed to feeling strong, now feeling weak?"

Of course, Jormac felt angry and humbled himself. But he didn't want to give them the satisfaction of seeing her discouraged.

"You're wrong if you think I have what you're looking for" said Jormac in a soft voice, but his eyes remained determined.

But every day makes it worse. He felt trapped in this prison, hopeless and with no way out.

As time passed, Jormac began to feel increasingly isolated. No one wants to talk to him except to mock or urge. Even fellow prisoners no longer saw him as a fellow, but rather as a pawn in their game.

He hoped that one day there would be justice, that someone would come and uncover the truth. That is what kept him afloat, while maintaining his belief that he lacked the knowledge sought by prisoners and guards. Although it made his life even more difficult, he maintained courage and determination.

However, life in prison continues, with Jormac being the target of daily jokes and taunts. He must overcome the feelings of alone and frustration that continue to build.

But, behind all this suffering, Jormac harbors dimmed hopes. He believes that one day the truth will be revealed and he will be released from this prison. And on a dark night, fate will lead him to someone who will change his fate forever.

Every aspect of life in prison was a source of despair for Jormac, and the food he received was one of them. Every day, they are served with dishes that look like unhealthy blends made from cheap ingredients. This food is not only not nutritious, but it also feels very disgusted.

Jormac stared at the plate containing the food with an economical expression. "This is the food they gave us?" he murmured in a disappointed tone.

In worsening circumstances, this unworthy meal is just a symbol of how unfair his life in prison is. However, despite growing desperate, Jormac maintains his hope that one day he will find a way to get out of this situation and prove his innocence.

Day after day passed, and Jormac continued to be forced to work inside this prison. The task is not only boring, but also exhausting. He was often ordered to clean the cells of prisoners, move heavy items, or even do very menial work.

At times like this, Jormac pondered about his previous life in his office that seemed so monotonous. Previously, he had often complained about his strenuous work, but now, he felt as if he had been placed in a much worse situation. He missed the days when office work seemed to be his biggest problem.

Overtime work in the office is a forgotten complaint, replaced by forced labor in prison. Jormac now felt that he would give anything to go back to that time, when the problem was only a pile of office work and boring meetings.

As he ponders about the drastic changes in his life, Jormac increasingly realizes the value of freedom. Although his office job might not be as perfect as he wanted, he now understood that it was a form of freedom that he could not take for granted.

Then in the middle of a quiet night, when the other prisoners were sound asleep in their cells, Jormac felt awake. His mental health has been plagued by the uncertainty and dire conditions in this prison. Voices from outside his cell continued to buzz in his ears, haunting his constantly active mind.

Suddenly, in the middle of the silence of the night, Jormac heard a faint knocking sound. The knock occurs once, followed by five harder beats. Jormac frowned, trying to recall where he had heard something similar. Then it sprang up in his memory - it was the code of beats he had seen in a detective film.

In the film, the code is used to send secret messages. The first five beats represent the letter E, and Jormac assumed that this code was the way someone tried to communicate with it. Is this a sign? Was there someone among the prisoners trying to talk to him?

Without hesitation, Jormac decided to avenge that knock. He tapped on his cell wall five times, followed by four taps. This is the way he reveals "Yes," that he is in an emergency situation. Jormac had no idea who was behind this code or what might happen next, but one thing was certain, this was the turning point in his journey in this prison.

In the silence of the dark night, his hope rekindled. Perhaps, just maybe, he would not be alone in his struggle anymore.

The atmosphere inside the Jormac cell now felt even more excited. Having previously managed to understand the code of beats as a way of communicating, Jormac again heard a beat that is now different. This time, there are the first three beats, followed by the next four. Jormac pondered for a moment and realized that this was the code for the letter O. However, he was still confused about what this message might have meant.

But clearly, there was someone out there who was trying to interact with him, and that in itself gave a new spirit to Jormac. Every knock on his cell wall was a sign of hope, a sign that he was not alone in this dire situation.

Despite not knowing how to reply to this message, Jormac decided to stick with the code he used before. He tapped on his cell wall with five taps, then four taps, sending a message that he was still in an emergency and needed help.

With hope burning, Jormac waited tensely to see what would happen next. Who was behind these secret messages, and what was he planning for her?
