Chapter 105
Weapons and Spells
"You? A passerby? Stop joking!" Kamadi snapped, pointing at Jerad and his friends, "You must be the bodyguard! You're really great!" he shouted at Jerad, "You can't face us alone so you hired an outsider to fight for you! And to you" his gaze returned to Claude, "–Do you think I can't find you with that disguise? Show me what little punk you are so I know where to stab you! "
"I'm telling the truth. It's your problem if you don't believe. I was just defending myself. You didn't really expect me to be a punching bag, did you? If so, you're more stupid than I thought. Take your paranoia somewhere else. Are you going to let me pass, or do I have to beat you too? "
Kamadi's gray slices darted between his new arrival and enemies several times before finally sighing. The four people were as shocked as the arrival of this man as he was. This stranger was not with them.
But why did he appear at this time? That's too big of a coincidence for that. Why didn't he turn around and leave as soon as he saw them? No traveler would face two gangs in the middle of a fight. Something is wrong, he may not be conspiring with the Shark, but something is wrong.
Thoughts seeking answers have a tendency to fill the void with their wild guesses, and Kamadi is a professional. Obviously he was hired by someone. For what reason, he might not know, but it was not good for Blacksnake. There was no other explanation as to why he attacked his men all of a sudden.
That conclusion doesn't help at all, because Kamadi is still angry at the government for siding with the Sharks in their final confrontation and imposing this peace on Blacksnake when now is the perfect opportunity to clear the slate. His people have the same thoughts. Now is the chance to get rid of this disorder for good. However, for all his ambitions and pride, everyone in the gang knows that they have no power to fight the city watch. But their hatred for Sharks was even deeper than their fear of the city watchdogs.
They secretly make plans to annihilate their enemies if there is no leader of them. They would sweep the docks and wipe out any territory held by their enemies. Even Hanbas could not run a gang without the territory where they earned money. The gang will disband and that will be the end of it. .for now .
However, their plan hinged on the city watch standing still. They had no chance of succeeding if the city watches were involved. And that's what they do. Now the plan is in disarray and they are forced to watch this opportunity pass, literally.
The leaders clearly show a show for their egos. They were literally told to sit and be quiet near real bigshots in the city. But to their subordinates and gankies, they instead chose to give face to the government by kneeling down, begging them not to get involved in such matters.
Whatever the truth of the matter, peace is upheld, or at least it has been successfully enforced so far. For all the stories of leadership, Kamadi is tall enough on the ladder to know the true story. The government did not joke when they said it would remove the city from them if they caused any problems. They had the mayor's support in secret, but even he couldn't get in when the entire elite cabinet agreed.
The whole story flashed through Kamadi's brain several times since this confrontation began, and it kept him from starting a physical fight. That said, she had not expected to meet that whore and her cuck. How could he let go of such an opportunity? He had tried to provoke the other party into starting the fight so that he could claim self-defense, but for all his weaknesses, that Jerad had a cold head on his shoulders. He did not let his men start the fight. Now this fucking outsider has shown up and destroyed everything.
Does this really think Kamadi doesn't know he's from town hall? He sighed after a while, and his shoulders slumped. Well, he'll play for today. He won't make more trouble for those Sharks tonight, but he will properly teach this outsider a bloody lesson!
If he insisted he had no relationship with the town hall, then they would treat him like it was true and beat the holy shit out of him.
He smiled cynically at that thought and took a step forward.
The cloaked figure did not react at all.
"What kind of damage?"
The Kamadi people already knew what was on his mind, and surrounded the cloaked figure as the two spoke.
"One hand and one foot," Kamadi grinned viciously.
"Just because you said that?" the robed man asked as if he was talking to a child.
Claude doesn't mind fighting. He's already beaten three, five more won't be much harder. However, his eyes lit up when he saw the sparkling dagger in his opponent's hand and he quickly retreated. He can handle five unarmed opponents, but the weapon changes the equation completely. "No matter one's skill with boxing, one should always be tired with knives," as the saying goes.
But he could not turn around and run. Exposing his back would be the last mistake of his life. The only option was to retreat slowly, keeping his front facing his opponents so that he could block and retaliate against their attacks.
It was slower than he wanted, but still faster than his opponent expected. The old streets were a maze of puddles and pits, so it was not an easy thing to move quickly in the darkness, without even having to watch over a number of enemies, so how did this cloaked man do it?
"Get him!" Kamadi shouted a moment later, "Don't let him escape! I want both feet!"
About ten seconds after the chase, Claude's two closest pursuers were about five meters behind him. Claude's hand waved and four projectiles exploded from his palm.
"Acck!"
"Ouch!"
The first two collapsed a moment later in gasps and shouts. One was hit twice, once in the thigh and once in the neck. His shout was more than just a burst as he rolled between the puddles and gripped the sick places. The other was shot in the stomach and he bowed with his hands on his stomach while he was panting, which was not strange to see, considering how the power of the Magic Missile was more or less similar to his rifle in the test.
Although pleased with the results of his first combat player, he was unhappy with his accuracy. It was everywhere, he was lucky he scored a hit at all. If not for him having control over how the ball flies, he would have missed them all.
He did not stop scolding himself. His first priority was to get out of the passageway alive, so he continued walking. Lucky for him, the sudden attack shocked the remaining three pursuers, who stopped long enough for him to come out from under them. He only pulled back about seven meters so he had enough time to react when they started to recharge and could hit them at a full five meters distance. At the same time, he prepared his counterattack.
