The Black Iron Glory
Three Point Vision

Chapter 54

Three Point Vision

Oh, yeah, a week has passed. Claude apologizes to Borkal and Eriksson and says that he will not go to help at the dock. Instead, he summoned a carriage and headed to Big Hammer in the south of the city.

He was surprised to find that his three friends were riding the train with him. They wanted to broaden their horizons and find out what the scenery was for Claude to pay seven riyas thale to forge.

Well, I guess they can come along. Not a big deal. The four of them went there together. When Mike saw them arrive, he automatically went to take the view.

Although Mike looks like a burly man, his skills are rather good. The scenery he made was dark and black, yet smooth and the corners were sharp. They feel great to the touch.

Claude is worried about the straightness of the pins for the front view and uses Mike's tool to measure them, only to notice that it's not the slightest bit of measurement he's asking for. Claude smiled in satisfaction and thanked Mike for his work.

Mike also breathed a sigh of relief. He usually receives the money before starting to work on the commission and he worries that the customer will find a mistake when it is done and claims that it is not what he wants. Although Mike accepts the design from Claude himself and is not worried about being able to prove himself, it would be much better if the problem could be avoided completely, especially with a customer like Claude whose family should not be taken lightly.

Claude and Mike greeted each other. One was a customer who was happy with the work of Big Hammer, and the other was happy with an easy-to-handle customer. He asks Claude to come patronize him more often and says that Big Hammer will give him a tempting price. After making small talk, Claude and his friends say goodbye and leave the workshop with a view.

Eriksson suggests that Claude go home to pick up his gun so they can try out their new toy at the dock to see if it is as good as Claude says it is.

But despite the docks belonging to Altronis, there is still a chance for gunfire to deviate to injure someone as it is surrounded by stone houses and wooden sheds. The area was rather busy with people coming and going and there was even a small market nearby, so Claude shook his head.

"Are you fools? My house is by the lake! Can't you shoot towards the lake? You won't harm anyone" Eriksson said angrily.

"But we won't have anywhere to put the target in the lake ..." Borkal still hasn't found the answer.

"Why do you need a target? Can't you just throw a piece of wood into the lake and shoot them, you go in ?!"

Eriksson's idea sounded a bit good, so the four of them went to Claude's house first, the big house of red bricks. After he gets a gun, bullets, and gunpowder, they climb onto Altronis' private dock.

Borkal paid for the four sunars needed to board the train because he was the slowest to get off and was eventually caught by the coachman. As the train stops, Welikro, Eriksson and Claude run to the dock without warning. Borkal reacted too slowly. He wanted to ask the others to part ways and pay one sunar.

In the end, Borkal runs to the dock and grumbles about how horrible his friends are, only to see Claude adjusting the view to his weapon with Eriksson and Welikro watching from the side.

He oiled the outside of the barrel slightly and easily popped a scene on it, securing it with a small screw that passed through a hole made in the bottom utilizing the sight. Turning the screws enough to touch the barrel is enough to secure the view. But before he locked it away for good, Claude had to first adjust the scene until it was level with the center line of the barrel. After securing the scene properly, Claude proceeded to calibrate his front pin. Since the rear notch was mounted on a pan flash cover that did not allow it to be adjusted as usual, Claude had no choice but to settle for the calibration mechanism on the front steering pin.

The pins are divided into five sections, thick to thin from bottom to top. It looked like a long, segmented pipe. It was not an option Claude had when he calculated that the highest front viewfinder pin was one centimeter lower than the top of the rear notch on the pan flash cover. That would allow him to line up three dots into a single line to shoot a 50-meter target. But if he wants to reach a further target, such as one 100 meters away, he must align the vision openings with the second segment of the aiming pin. He used a pin segment aimed to replace the calibrated rear notch.

After much difficulty, he completed the calibration. Welikro threw a piece of wood into the lake with everything he had. It fell into the lake and floated well, but not too far away. It slightly floated up and settled 20 meters away.

"It's okay" Claude said, "Let me try shooting a few times first."

He put the gun in, secured the slow match, turned it on and carefully leveled the gun on the front backrest before he took aim.

Aside from other things, Claude felt more used to putting up front vision. He positioned the top of the steering pin on the U indentation above the pan flash cover and aimed at the drifting piece of wood before pulling the trigger. Slow matching enters the flash pan with hissing audible, and bam! Smoke rises into the air.

Claude was very confused as he could not hit the board on the lake. The bullet landed slightly behind the board into the water not too far away.

He proceeded to clean the barrel with ramrod, poured gunpowder and filled it with rods, added bullets, put the ramrod in the barrel again, cut the slow fire kore8k on the snake and lit it. Once again leveling the gun on the front backrest, he aimed and shot.

He shot four shots in total. The first three shots landed right next to the board not too far away, almost touching it. However, the fourth shot accurately hit the board and caused it to fly several meters further before landing into the water once again.

Claude turned around only to realize that his friends were staring at the board he was shooting at, dumbfounded during his concentrated shooting.

Simple reason. When he was aiming at a target, he had to mentally estimate the offset of his gun and fix it. If he wanted to hit the board in the lake, he would be greatly disturbed by the waves of water and waves that still echoed as a result of the board falling into the lake. That would prove to be a major nuisance for correcting offsets.

Welikro was convinced that he had to rely on luck to hit the board on the lake. However, he did not believe for a moment that he could fire the first three shots so close to the board. It was almost a hit; they were so close to actually grazing the wooden boards.

"It's all thanks to this scene," Claude said indifferently as he drew a simple diagram on the ground with a cane. "I aimed two U-notch points at the very top of my front steering pin before I pointed the gun at the board on the lake. Two points in the rear view should form a line with one point in front After that, stabilize your body and pull the trigger to hit the target. "

"Boa, do you understand what he's saying? Try and do as I say," Claude handed the gun to Borkal.

Bam! The broken wooden board surged from the water.

"Haha, I said I have a talent for shooting and you don't believe me! I got it with one shot! Yay! Hurrah!"

Claude watched as Borkal leaped in delight with his mouth agape. It's a cursed fuke! How can Boa hit him with one shot when I need four?

Then it was Eriksson's turn. Claude's confidence in him recovered. That guy made seven shots, none of them actually hit the board, but they almost just bit off a little bit. Like Claude's first three shots, Eriksson's seven shots all landed right next to the board into the lake.

Borkal gestured and tried to show Eriksson how to aim, but he forgot how he did it himself and messed up his explanation the longer he continued. In the end, Claude demonstrated it again and taught them the three-point aiming method.

Eriksson shot three times more and ended up hitting the wooden board.

In the end, it was Welikro's turn. He only shot once and stopped. The shots were very bad and almost half a meter from the lake.

"What's wrong?" ask Claude. Welikro looked a bit strange.

Welikro smiled bitterly. "I can't use your gun and your eyesight to shoot. I was worried that I would lose touch on my ability to adjust the offset if I used your three-point aiming method. It is true that your method is easy and effective and will allow even a beginner to easily grasp the key to aiming. Even though the scene was truly terrifying, I must admit that it was indeed practical. "

Borkal came up to them and said, "Claude, I'm sorry for teasing you about this day before. What do I call again? Oh, I'm saying that these tights are just a waste of money. I admit that I was wrong. It was really useful and I wanted to put my gun in as well. Can you take me to Big Hammer and talk to the owner about it for me? "

Claude smiled and said, "That's a sight, not tights. If you want it, it won't be a problem. I've got a design here with me and I can accompany you to Mike if you want, but you'll have to pay for the trip. "

"You've stopped paying now and told me to pay the cost" said Borkal, dissatisfied. But it didn't take long before he had a brilliant idea. "Hey, Claude, what are you saying about making more sights for retail? Do you think many people want to buy it? It makes shooting so easy.Shooting three spots .. Haha, even a beginner can easily hit the target! It clearly has great selling power. "

Claude shook his head. "Sorry, Boa. I didn't mean to get involved in that effort. Don't hesitate to do it if you want, but be prepared to make a big loss."

"Why?"

"Well, first of all, these things cost a lot. The mine cost one thale and seven riyases and it was the discounted price offered by Mike thanks to who my father was. Also, it takes someone as skilled as Mike to painstakingly forge this. Do you think anyone else would want to spend three thales to buy this?

"Secondly, his vision can only be used on the aubass sign 2. It should match your weapon as well, and I should calibrate it first before it can be used properly. You can't just wear it and think it's going to work. Who else do you think can perform this calibration? I don't want to help calibrate every set of scenery sold.

"Three, old matches are not suitable to use this scene. Take Wero 3 as an example. It has a trumpet-shaped barrel and you will not be able to use this even if you want to. More crucially, as Wero said, he cannot use our methods to aim and shoot because that would negatively impact the skills he mastered after a lot of practice.

"So, I don't think this business is going to fly. Every gun user has a shooting method they like and not everyone will spend money on this, understand?"

"So .." said Borkal disappointed.

Claude shrugged his shoulders. He did not tell Borkal one important point: the true customer for this technology is the army. The scenery will be a great tool for new recruits and will allow them to become great shooters with minimal training and short time.

However, he did not think that Borkal would be able to make contact with ary. Even if their business was successful, the army would not offer them any benefits either. There were no copyright laws in this world and Claude could not stop them from copying his designs even if they wanted to, so it would be much better to monopolize this technique for himself rather than looking for trouble by starting such a business.
