The Black Iron Glory
The Drunk Arbeit

Chapter 27

The Drunk Arbeit

A loud cry sounded from the side all of a sudden, shocking the father and son.

Claude turned to look and saw Arbeit appear out of nowhere. He stood at the entrance of the dining room and glared at thale and riyas on the table with red eyes.

Morssen furrowed his brows from the pungent smell of alcohol emanating from the Arbeit.

"Where are you going? You don't come home all night and even smell the alcohol. Are you drinking too much?" Morssen looked somewhat angry as his expression darkened.

"I ... I don't go anywhere .. I just ... just play cards with some friends .. and .. and drink alcohol ..." Arbeit burps as he walks astray. "No ... Not that .. Why did you give him so ... so much money ... You ... you've never given me so much money before …"

Seeing Arbeit extending his hand towards the money on the table, Claude slapped him and said, "This is not money for me. I'll pay someone else. I borrowed money from behind to buy an antique cookbook."

"You ... You're making it up!" Arbeit nearly fell down and he gripped the side of the table to regain his balance with much difficulty. "What ... what cooks antique crap ... cookbooks ... since when is there an antique cookbook there ... you .. lied to me is you …"

Arbeit pointed at Morssen. He was so close that the finger almost hit Morssen's face. "You ... you pick a favorite .. give it so ... so much money .. If I don't come back .. I .. I won't get a single clue about it. … "L

Morssen was on the verge of anger. Anyone who was directed directly at his face would feel annoyed, especially when the one pointing was his own son. He stood up and tried his best to suppress his anger and maintain his dignity as a father. "Arbeit, you're drunk. Go wash your face, gargle, and tidy yourself up. As Sir Fux's personal secretary, you must look like a man in high society. You should always maintain your body status. Don't make yourself look no different from drunk bums on the streets. "

However, the drunk Arbeit could not be bothered to take his father seriously. He only saw two coins on the table. "You ... you cannot give him .. my money ... my money ... this is my money ... all this ... is mine …"

Arbeit grabbed Morssen's collar and burped loudly once again, disgusting his father completely.

"Let go now!" morssen shouted furiously at his son.

"No .. I won't!" Arbeit refused to stop. He had completely lost all fear for his father. "Give me .. my money ... all the money of this house .. is .. mine …"

What's the point of messing with alcoholics? Claude stepped forward, holding Arbeit's two hands and twisting them before pushing him back, causing Arbeit to release Morssen's collar and stagger back a few steps before finally stabilizing himself.

"You, move!" Morssen pushed Claude away and gave his eldest son a big slap. There was a loud and audible sound. The slap was extremely powerful, causing the Arbeit to spin twice before falling to the ground. The left side of his face could be seen swelling at a rate visible to the naked eye.

"Go to your room and meet me tomorrow when you wake up!" raung Morssen, before he ignored his son on the ground and prepared to go up. He turned around after taking two steps to the dining table to pick up the magic cookbook before returning upstairs.

Claude took two coins from the table and looked at the floored Arbeit. He then noticed that he was cold, either because of his father's slap or because of a hangover. He lay there, completely motionless.

After kneeling down to look at him, he noticed that the pitiful fool was still breathing. Looks like he's still okay. Claude stood up and gave Arbeit a light kick to wake him up, but he did not react at all. After scratching his head for a while, he decided that he would just let it go. But when he looked up, he saw his little sister standing at the entrance of the kitchen in a daze. The scene that happened in the dining room had shocked the little girl.

"It's okay, Anna. Arbeit had just gotten drunk and Dad took it a lesson for that," Claude said as he went to caress his head to calm him down.

"Are you going to let him lie there like this?" ask his sister.

"Yup. Not that I can carry it. Who asked him to grow so tall?" He really couldn't be bothered to deal with that shit.

But he still decided after a while to drag Arbeit with both feet into a corner in the dining room. Afterwards, she told her sister, "Anna, go upstairs to her room and get her a blanket. We don't want him to catch a cold right now."

Looking puzzled, he asked, "Sister, what difference does it make for him to lie there?"

Claude nodded and said, "Mom won't be able to see it from the stairs at that angle because the table blocks the view. That way, he would think that he had already gone to his room to sleep. Since I won ' "I can't take him upstairs, I better leave him there. He would return to his room if he woke up in the middle of the night. We don't have to worry about him. Oh, and have you cleaned the kitchen? If so, let's remove the candles and close the doors and windows. Get the blanket first. I'll be waiting for you. "

"OK, Big Brother," Angelina said before she ascended obediently.

. . . . . .

With the magic cookbook in his hands and no longer having to copy and decode the diary, Claude no longer had anything to bother him with. After briefly arranging his desk and considering what he should prepare for his trip to Egret tomorrow, he quickly went to bed and fell asleep. He was sleeping soundly and had just woken up when the bell of the wargod temple rang at six in the morning.

It was a good sleep. . . Claude felt full of energy when he woke up and was completely refreshed. He went to the bathroom on the first floor to take a shower before breakfast.

However, he only remembered the incident last night with Arbeit when he was in the shower and wondered if he had woken up.

When he got off, he saw the man pick up small ips of his tea at the dinner table. He looked completely pale and there was a slight swelling on the left part of his face with a clear red finger mark. However, she had already changed into her pajamas and even looked like she had taken a bath, as seen from her slightly wet hair.

Morssen must be lecturing him right now. Arbeit no longer looked as bold as the night before when he was drunk and only nodded nonstop to admit his mistake. But when he saw Claude descending, he glared at him with an angry look filled with hatred.

"Claude, come here" Morssen said in a heavy voice.

"Why did you leave your older brother in the dining room yesterday and go to bed by yourself?"

Claude shrugged and replied innocently, "I can't move it, nor can I drag it up. You were so angry last night, so I didn't dare call you to do it, and Anna is young and we won't be able to move her even with the two of us. Also, I didn't leave it completely unattended. I even had Anna get a blanket to cover her in case she got the flu. "

"Ugh ..." Morssen was at a loss for words. He forgot that the palm mark on Arbeit's face was his own. He was too angry with this son on the last night and forgot to take him to his room on the first floor. Although she suspects that Claude deliberately left Arbeit in the dining room, she can't do anything about it because Claude insists that the reason he did it is because he couldn't bring Arbeit.

"You must have done it on purpose. Aren't you usually really strong?" said Arbeit with surprise.

"You must have done it on purpose. Aren't you usually really strong?" said Arbeit with surprise.

"You still find yourself criticizing me for that? If you don't get drunk, it won't happen. You won't be slapped and won't lie on the ground. Oh, and last night you said that you went out drinking and playing cards with your friends, didn't you? You must have lost all your money. That's why you panic when you see money once you get back home. I wonder how many are missing, huh? " collapse Claude back.

"I ... I don't play any cards .. I only drink a little. Don't spout nonsense," said Arbeit a bit of guilt.

"Have you forgotten what you said yourself?" Claude was well aware that his father hated alcoholics and gamblers with a passion. Claude's alcoholic grandfather had left his father with a terrible impression of them and the greatest lesson his grandfather taught was on gambling: he was the perfect antimodel for it who had lost all his assets due to gambling!

"I'm .. I'm just saying shit because I'm drunk. I don't play cards" insisted Arbeit stubbornly.

"You two, shut up. Stop arguing" Morssen said angrily.

Claude sat down and started breakfast.

"Are you going fishing this afternoon?" asked Morssen after a moment of silence.

"Yes. We already paid the rent for the fishing boat. I hope I can earn money during a two-day break to pay off the debt" Claude replied.

"Since that's the case, I'll let you go. However, be sure to pay attention to your safety when camping outside, got it?"

"Yes, Dad. I'll be attentive."

"As for you, Arbeit, stay home and don't go anywhere during this two-day holiday. Let your face heal first so you don't embarrass yourself any further. Sir Fux has to return from the prefectural capital after a break, so you have to freshen up and work hard by his side. Don't disappoint me again. "

"I know, Father," replied Arbeit sadly.

. . . . . .

Every year on the 26th day of the 5th month, ahead of Restoration Day, Whitestag secondary and primary schools will hold a celebratory event to commemorate the holiday.

Every year on the 26th day of the 5th month, ahead of Restoration Day, Whitestag secondary and primary schools will hold a celebratory event to commemorate the holiday.

Basically, his activities have not changed much. First they would gather all the students and parade around the city led by instructors. They would then gather and line up neatly in the memorial square where Stellin IX opened the first shots that led to the restoration of the kingdom.

First, they will offer a ring of grateful flowers to the statue of Stellin IX. Afterwards, the principal will deliver a lengthy speech about the difficulties Stellin IX experienced during his recovery, before a student representative took to the stage and delivered a speech of thanks for their beautiful life and went on about how all their blessings were thanks to the graces and the legacy of the Stellin royal family.

In the end, the mayor will take the stage to end the event. He will call on everyone to unite under the banner of the Stellin royal family and the wise guidance of Stellin X to strive to build a better Aueras, a better home.

After all that was over, everyone would bow three times to the statue of Stellin IX before disbanding and returning to their respective homes. Schools can even save on the cost of lunch for the students on that day.

Claude had to go home first and change clothes. He could not wear such a uniform in an adventure to Egret. Instead, hunting was the ideal choice.

At two o'clock in the afternoon, they gathered at the Eriksson family's private dock.

Old Sunny was already docked in a fishing boat at the pier. It is about seven meters long and four meters wide. Excluding the front and rear of the ship, there was not much room to move around in it, with a seating area of only about ten square meters.

It was the most commonly seen fishing boat in the Whitestag. Each can carry two to three people and can be used for fishing and diving activities in shallow waters. But it cannot go deep into the sea because there is a danger of the boat capsizing from strong winds and waves.

Borkal paid the agreed fee to Old Sunny. The ship owner gave a few words of blessing before he left and everyone carried their luggage onto the deck of the ship.

Eriksson asked, "Have we got everything? We're not leaving anything behind, are we? Do a final check. We're gonna sail."

Currently, he is the captain of a small fishing boat.

"Wait," said Claude, "Oh, don't you also have a net in your shed? Bring too. I told my family I was going fishing, so I couldn't leave without a net. We "Will find a place to disappoint when we're there. Maybe we'll even be surprised."
