"You are so outrageous, Adriano! There are other ways to express your anger at Carlo's attitude" Mia protested firmly.
"That's something simple, Mia. Carlo will not die just from a light blow like that," Adriano argued lightly.
"Carlo my son too! I love him so much! Especially because now he has married Bella, even though he does not know what kind of marriage they have lived." Mia looked so angry at what Adriano had done earlier.
"I've told you that Carlo's position is currently in transition. He had just been appointed the clan head of a large organization. However, the organization itself gained by overthrowing the power of someone, who had long received a special protection from some Russian government. Just so you know, Mia. There were many parties who did not wish for the Red Wolf Clan to return to its former glory. That's why it seems like there has been a refurbishment over the last decades" explains Adriano who is either understood or not by Mia.
"You're the owner of Tigre Nero, Adriano. Your power is huge. You can do something" Mia responded.
"You even know what Carlo doesn't understand. As someone much more experienced, you should have helped her, dear."
"Mia, My dear ...." Adriano paused his speech. The man closed his eyes for a moment, then sighed and took a deep breath. He could never say in a stern tone, to the mother of the two daughters whom he deeply cared for.
"When Fabiola's mother Charles's mother arrived at the residence of Alessandro's uncle, my uncle soon found out about the rebellion against Nikolai Volkov. From there, Alessandro's uncle discovered many irregularities. He thinks that there is interference of the power holder in the body of the government, which seems to be a shield for the rebels," Adriano explained, although again he did not feel confident that Mia would be able to understand it well.
"Then?" ask Mia who is listening carefully. The middle-aged woman in a neat bun tried to digest every word that slid in the form of an explanation from her husband.
"I don't know what caused them not to want the organization to exist. The Red Wolf Clan had been formed a long time ago. I think it might be the same age as Klan de Luca or Clan Moriarty." Adriano took out a box of cigarettes from his shirt pocket. He slightly moved away from Mia, as he began to ignite the object until it gave off a thin smoke.
"I'm old, honey. My energy is not what it used to be. Right now, I just want to take care of Tigre Nero who I don't even know who I'm going to pass on to." The blue-eyed man with a strand of gray hair between his black hair earlier, set his eyes on Mia for a while.
Mia also stood up while folding both hands on the chest. His attention was full of the husband who was already getting older, although actually Adriano still seemed so healthy with the posture never changed at all.
"You can still beat up Carlo" the mother of Miabella quipped.
Adriano laughed too. "I haven't done that in a long time" he said, observing the fist he had used to beat Carlo.
“You really suck, Adriano!” Mia grumbled, then left her husband in the room just like that.
“Where are you going, Darling?” adriano asked as his wife's slender body had disappeared behind the door. Immediately, he followed Mia's quick steps down the room corridor.
“I want to see Carlo's state. My daughter-in-law!” answer Mia with emphasis on the word ‘menantu’.
“Gosh.” Adriano clucked slowly. "Is your attention now being distracted from her? I realize that I'm getting older" Adriano thought, muttering softly. Forcibly, he walked behind his wife while continuing to smoke the rest of the cigarette. While the left hand he hid into the pocket of his pants. He did so until they arrived in front of Miabella's room.
When Mia was about to knock on the door, Adriano first knocked on it with a fairly tight movement. Since it was already midnight, then his voice echoed quite loudly. “Adriano!” sergeant Mia while glaring at the husband who was even chuckling softly.
Not long after, the door opened slowly. Miabella's face appeared from there. “What else do you want, Daddy Zio? Don't tell me you want to add your punch to my husband's face,” said the girl who had just taken off her bachelor time.
“No, Dear. We just want to see Carlo. Can we come in?” sahut Mia before Adriano had responded to the words of his favorite daughter.
“Carlo, My son.” Mia rushed over to Carlo while observing every inch of that battered handsome face earlier. “My husband is outrageous,” regrets to be clean. Adriano was standing in the doorway. He leaned his right arm while watching every detail of his daughter-in-law's movements. Occasionally, the man smoked his cigarette which stayed a little.
“It's okay, Mistress. Um. I mean, Mom. May I call you ‘ibu’?” ask Carlo for permission.
“Of course, Son. You may call me by whatever name you want,” Mia replied gently as she rubbed off Carlo's bruised cheek.
“I think you better ask daddy zio, ma'am. Who knows if he wouldn't have accepted my husband calling you that. I don't want Mr. D'Angelo's overprotective attitude towards his family, until it makes my husband have to be battered again,” said Miabella who stood not far from the bed. He occasionally glanced at the father who was smiling faintly.
“Already, Cara mia ” reprimand Carlo. “I fully understand what Mr. Adriano is doing. If I were to be a father, then I would also definitely do so.”
“Look at your face until it's messed up and you're still defending my father,” Miabella grumbled.
While Mia is instantly transfixed, hearing Carlo's name for her daughter. It has evoked memories of decades ago of the figure of Matteo. However, Mia tried to shake off all those feelings. He looked back at the daughter-in-law's face.
It is true, the handsome face of Carlo at that time was decorated by several blisters on the temple. Bruising under the eyes and nose, and tearing on the lips. Not to mention the swollen jaw, so Miabella had to compress it with an ice bag.
“That's just the beginning, Carlo. I will do more than this if my daughter is in danger because of you,” chirped Adriano who is now walking closer to the bed. He then stood gallantly at the side of the bed, with sharp blue eyes raining down on Carlo.
“Tell me. Has there been no sign of anyone threatening you or trying to hurt you?” adriano asked in a flat and cold tone.
Hearing this, Miabella froze. He secretly glanced at the husband who also looked at him. Slowly, the gray-eyed beautiful girl shook her head.
“Ya, Sir. I received a threat while we were on our way to Russia,” Carlo replied without releasing his gaze from Miabella.
“Yes for mercy.” The princess continued Adriano was upset. She really hoped that her husband would be willing to lie. However, it seemed that Carlo preferred to speak honestly.
“Have you found out who did it?” Adriano raised one of his thick, dark eyebrows.
“Not yet, Sir. There are other matters that I have to deal with first, before investigating it,” explained Carlo.
“Basic!” grouse Adriano. He shifted the body of the wife who was still sitting on the edge of the bed gently, then leaned her body on the daughter-in-law. Without hesitation, Adriano gripped the front of the T-shirt that Carlo was wearing, then pulled him tight.
“Daddy Zio, stop!” prevent Miabella. However, Carlo immediately raised one hand to his wife as a signal to keep her from interfering.
“One thing you must understand, Karl Volkov! Being a clan leader, is not just about enlarging the territory and coffers of wealth. However, you must also be able to prevent the arrival of dangers that can be present from various sides. The safety of your extended family is the ultimate responsibility! Can you understand that, huh!” adriano Sentak. His blaring voice broke the silence of the night at Casa de Luca.
“Ya, Sir. I can understand it well,” Carlo replied calmly.
“Good.” Adriano let go of his hand, then turned away. “Oh yes. One over. Don't call me ‘Tuan’! It doesn't feel right when my own daughter-in-law calls me that,” she said as she passed by and didn't turn her head again.
