Chapter 1

Matchmaking

Silence felt in a luxurious house in the middle of the city. Two families were having dinner with each of their children.

Two young men were bowed, and each of their parents was waiting for their answer.

"How, Safira? You want to be Om's son-in-law" said Reyza, who is Rayden's father.

"Yes, Honey. Be our daughter-in-law. Rayden said he was ready to marry you." Alea, Rayden's mother added.

Sapphira, the hijab-wearing girl who was meek and friendly could only be bowed. He could not stop thinking, after the threat from his parents last day, the night Rayden family really came.

He did not expect to be betrothed to a Rayden Armadja. A cold guy who doesn't talk much. Just nodding, saying whatever his parents say. But Sapphira could see clearly how Rayden's real gaze also did not want this matchmaking.

Sapphira raised her face slowly. Take a deep breath and then take it out slowly. "I don't know yet, Om, Auntie, this is sudden." Looking towards her mom and dad who only seemed to give her an emphasis on herself.

"Darling, what are you doubting? If it's about love, it'll grow on its own when you're married. Like the twin brother Rayden. She and her husband did not love each other at first, but now, they love each other, and even have triplets." Alea explained.

"But I'm still in college, Auntie."

"It's okay, honey. When married to Om Reyza, Aunt was still in college. You're just waiting another year to graduate anyway." Alea assured.

Safira lowered her head for a moment, then looked at the conglomerate couple with a look full of doubt.

"Why does Brother Rayden agree with this matchmaking?"

Rayden, who was just silent, now showed a different expression.

"Rayden said that whoever he was betrothed to was definitely the best choice for him, so he agreed" Alea said.

"May I speak with Brother Rayden for a moment?"

Both of Rayden's parents nodded. Rayden and Safira went to the living room to chat for a while.

The gray-hijab woman sat herself directly opposite Rayden.

Sapphira looked doubtful, she only stared at Rayden at a glance, then looked down again.

"Tell me, Safira, don't be afraid" Rayden said.

"I wonder if Brother Rayden plans to love me?" ask her doubtfully.

Rayden's words surprised Safira. "If Rayden's sister has a boyfriend, why not marry him?"

"If I could, I would."

"Why, Brother?" Safira was curious.

"Because he died a few years ago."

"Sorry, Brother." Safira.

"I'm not here to get your mercy, am I?" Rayden smiled obliquely.

"Really, Brother. So, what's the conclusion of my question?"

"In conclusion, I will continue to love Hana until any time."

'Hana? So her boyfriend's last name, Hana?' inner Sapphira.

"And I won't love anyone else, I won't open my heart to another woman. If you ask me, will I love you? Then the answer is no, "look at Rayden flatly.

Safira. What is marriage without love? How is Sapphira going to be living this fake married life?

"If you want to cancel this wedding, it's okay, I'll tell our parents. You can't marry a man who still thinks of others." Rayden offers.

Safira was still down. 'If only I could, surely I would refuse.' her inner self.

"Saffira."

Safira raised his head. Looking at Rayden with a sad look. "If I love Brother Rayden, would Brother Rayden not mind?"

Rayden scrunched his forehead. "Why do you want to love someone who doesn't want to open his heart to you?"

"Don't answer questions with questions, Brother."

"That's your right. But I'm sorry, I probably won't reply. Don't sacrifice your life with this marriage. Marry someone who loves you. You're so pretty, you're good, don't waste your life." Rayden looked at Safira seriously.

Sapphira knew that it was a subtle rejection for her. But he realized, what Rayden said was true. Just now he wanted to say that he also did not want this matchmaking, suddenly dashed the shadow of the threat of his parents who were in crisis, that is if he did not want to be betrothed to Rayden, he was suddenly struck by the threat of his parents who were in crisis, then he must be ready to be betrothed to a rich widower who has been divorced five times, aged forty-six years.

"Safira, Rayden, are you done talking, son?" asked Alea who approached them.

The two nodded, then followed Alea to the dining table.

"How, Safira?" ask Alea.

"I'm willing, Auntie," Safira replied hesitantly.

The reply made the two pairs of parents who were there happy. Rayden looked at Sapphira with astonishment. Though he had convinced Sapphira not to marry him, but Sapphira instead agreed.
