The Fill - In Boyfriend

The Fill - In Boyfriend
Episode 23

Hayden was telling Spencer a story about some scenes he had to do for the drama. “. . so I asked the teacher, 'Can this be a monologue?' ”

Spencer laughs. What did the girl say?

"He thinks I'm kidding."

“And let me guess, you agree with that?”

“What else should I do?”

“I don't know. .May stop worrying about other people's feelings once and worry about your value. "

Hayden shrugged. "Bodo time. Turns out fine. ”

Spencer's eyes were on me and I was waiting for him to get to know me too, but he didn't. He seemed to be wondering why this strange girl interrupted their conversation. It's been two years and she hasn't even been my date. It is understandable that he would not recognize me.

Hayden's happy eyes met mine and seemed to return to reality. “Oh, Gia. Hi." Hey."

“Do you know this beautiful girl?” Ask Spencer.

“I do. He's coming with me. "

“You're a lucky dog. How does an average-looking guy like you pull a girl out of your league? "

"I think it must be the killer's charm."

Spencer looked at me. “Do you agree with that assessment?”

"He's quite charming."

“Hmm. I think I got it in droves. "

Eve, who had joined us as well, chuckled. “There is a difference between charming and annoying, Spencer.”

“I'm sure you know the difference well,” Spencer said.

Eve raised one eyebrow. I waited for him to come back to her but he and Spencer laughed. He rushed forward and threw it on his shoulder. "I'll be back. I'm just going to drop this girl overboard as part of her graduation gift. " He left as if he was going to do that.

"It's best not to" he said, lashing out at his back. "Save me, Hayden."

Hayden just shrugged with a big smile on his face.

Ryan! Eve shouted.

Both Hayden and I watched as Spencer trudged towards the sea. Before he succeeds, Ryan joins them and they have a fake wrestling match in the sand. Hayden sighs. He looked very happy for the first time tonight. I don't need to tell him that Spencer had been a jerk to my friend two years ago. Spencer obviously doesn't remember and he has probably changed a lot since then. He looks different, better.

“Your friends are fun,” I said.

“Ya, we have fun together.”

"You missed it."

“I missed how before. Everything is different now and there is no point in trying to make it the same. "

I hope that means he gave up trying to win Eve back. Neither he nor Ryan deserved it in their lives.

Hayden was sitting at the table chasing Spencer when I got back from the bathroom. I approached her from behind and wrapped my arm around her shoulder, pressing my cheek against her cheek. Take that, Eve, I thought as she walked past us with Ryan. The night had been very cold and Hayden's cheeks felt warm. I felt him smile then he tied his finger with mine.

Hayden stiffened and shifted in his chair. His fingers slipped from my fingers and he folded his hands in front of his chest. Oh naw. He feels guilty. He wanted to tell his friend that this was a lie. I can feel it because I know it. Lying to Jules is one thing — I feel she deserves it — is a completely different story to lying to Claire and Laney.

"Please don't" I whispered in his ear. He couldn't tell her tonight when he didn't know how Spencer reacted to this news. As far as we know, he's gonna run away and tell Eve and tonight's no use. "You can break up with me tomorrow and let him know."

Hayden offered a stiff nod. I smelled the skin right under his ear. He was so fragrant that I wanted to linger there, taking advantage of the last few moments of physical contact we made. I felt he was shivering so I pulled away.

You ready to go? She asked.

“Stay and talk for a while. I'll take your shoes. "

He looked at his naked feet. “Oh, correct. I left them on the rocks. Thank you." Thank you."

It's late. This time it was darker and the road to the rocks was a little less clear. I managed to get through the corner to see two people making out.

“Oh! I'm sorry."

Eve and Ryan straightened up and faced me, Eve flattened her hair.

"Sorry," I said again. "I just need to get Hayden's shoes. They're there."

I scooped.

"Are you going?" Eve asked.

"Yes." Yeah."

"Thank you for coming" Ryan said as I tried to escape. "It's nice to see Hayden happy again."

It was all just acting, asshole, I wanted to say it. You are the worst friend ever and do not use your happiness to ease your guilt. Of course not.

"Yes, sure. See you soon."

Hayden was already up and heading towards me when I emerged from the rocks. "Thank you" he said, pointing to the shoe as I met him. I'm so glad I was the one who found Eve and Ryan behind the rock and not her. He didn't need to see her rubbing against his face any more than he had tonight.

He hugged me and buried his face in my hair. "Thank you for tonight."

I closed my eyes. "of course. That's delightful. ” And I was surprised when I realized that I really mean it. Hayden's easy to get along with.

He tightened one arm around my waist and his other hand moved up and down on my back. Maybe he also wants to take advantage of the last few moments of physical contact we have. “I have fun too. Let's take you home. ” He let go of me and grabbed my hand.

I looked back and sure enough, Eve was standing beside the rocks, staring at us. I should have known the reason he made physical contact.

CHAPTER 16

We stopped at his house and he turned off the engine and jumped out of the car before I could stop him. When he got to my door and opened it, I said, "Sorry, I have to say that I need a ride home."

Oh. He looked up and down the road like he would see a car waiting for me there. “Did my sister catch you?”

"Yes." Yeah."

''He is very cunning.''

"Yes she." I sat in his car, waiting for him to close the door and return to his side.
