The Fill - In Boyfriend

The Fill - In Boyfriend
Episode 33

I'm not playing your stupid game.

Let's play, said Nate.

"Well," Bec agreed without another argument.

I will start, I said. “Is it bigger than a box of bread?”

Hayden opened and closed his mouth. "Thul? That's your first question? Do people even have bread boxes anymore? Are you eighty years old? ”

“I played this game with my parents. That's actually a very clever question. Because if the answer is no, I can automatically rule out a person or place without having to throw two questions away. If the answer is yes, I can get rid of insects, rodents, and anything else that might fit in a backpack without having to ask a lot. "

That's what you should be asking. Is it bigger than a backpack? ”

“Do not criticize my question. I have a strategy. "

He lowered his head a little. "I didn't realize that I had played this game with the master last time. Even so, with the many questions you have about a name. "

"Is that? Is it bigger than a box of bread? ”

"How big is a bread box?"

"I'm the questioner, you're the answer."

She smiles. “Yes, this is bigger than a box of bread.”

Nate goes next. “Is that a monkey?”

Bec patted his chest. “You don't second-guess until you get more hints.”

“I want to guess. That's part of my strategy. "

“What strategy is it? The most stupid? ”

Hayden looked me in the eye and said, "Look, he needs help."

I laugh.

"No, it's not a monkey" Hayden said loudly. Your turn, Bec.

Is it cold-blooded? Bec looked at me as he asked this, like he was implying something more with that question.

Hayden seemed to have also thought of this as he stared at her sharply. "No."

I feel today may not be as fun as I expected.

CHAPTER 22

“I can't believe you guys took three hours to ask sixteen questions. Three hours."

It was Gia's fault. She took the longest with hers, ” said Bec.

I laugh. "If you don't analyze all my questions, Hayden, I won't take long. And we still got four more. ”

He stopped at the university parking lot. "I felt the need to turn my answer into something more interesting after this buildup, like last time."

He gave me a playful knock on my arm with his fist. "No, I mean there was a big buildup last time and I felt the need to change my name."

“You cannot change your answer. It's cheating. But we're going to stop the game because we're here. "

“Oh, good, more stacking.” He parked in a measured parking booth and turned off the car.

I looked out the window at the huge buildings that were looming in front of us. We got out of the car and Hayden locked it.

“I am very happy to surprise him. I've never done anything like this. "

He added a few a quarter meters. I'm sure he'll be very flattered.

“Or upset. After all, "bec said with a seductive smile.

Hayden chopped his head off and he screamed in a way I didn't think he could. “What is it, Bec? Pissed off? Which brothers have ever bothered each other? ” He let go and he punched his chest. He stood between us as we walked, Nate on the other side of Bec. A minute later Hayden wrapped one hand on Bec's shoulder and another on my arm. Oh, good, I belong in the sister category.

I took out a ticket to find the name of the building where the ceremony took place: Macgowan Hall. I've been to this college a few times, a few times for Drew and other couples when visiting Bradley, but I don't remember where it all was. So we stopped in front of the campus map.

My gaze was immediately fixed on the cafe where I met Bradley. I thought I would feel something, a sense of loss, a longing, but nothing.

Maybe in the theater and film department, right? Hayden's finger landed right next to the building I've been seeing.

You been here before?

"No, I haven't done it yet, but I'm finally thinking of moving here. They have an amazing theater program. "

Is that why he wanted to come? To look around the campus, motivate yourself? “Then, you should start from here,” I said. It would be nice if Hayden was at UCLA with me.

“I have to get my generals out in a cheaper place.”

“Yes, not everyone gets a scholarship,” Bec said.

How does he know that? Is he researching me or something?

“You have a scholarship to UCLA?” Hayden asked. "I learn more about you every minute."

"I need a picture" I said, partly to change the topic and partly because I have an idea. “Three of you stand near the campus map.”

Hayden started to object but I gave him a little push. "Just do it."

I took a few steps back and picked up my phone. “OK, hmm, Nate is one step closer to Bec. That's better. Actually a little closer. Good, now hug him like Hayden did. It'll look better. ” Bec's cheeks became a little pink and Hayden's annoyed expression of having to photograph turned into a smile.

“Say, 'UCLA.'”

After getting something to eat, we arrived at the theater about ten minutes early, but I didn't see my sister anywhere. “Should I call him?”

"It would be nice for him to see you in the audience" Bec said. "Then we can talk to him later."

"good. Sounds good." Sounds good because I'm nervous. He asked me not to come and I was worried I would ruin his special night by being here. I'm taking that feeling away. He'll be happy. I knew I would do it if our place was reversed, if I saw him in the audience on the day I gave my campaign speech or many times since then I had to make a presentation in front of the school.

A few minutes before six, the lights dimmed and the big screen lit up on stage. I was still trying to find my brother, who I now thought was sitting in the front row. However, the back of his head was very similar to the back of the heads of some others: black hair with a medium collar length. Just as the clock on my phone reached six o'clock, a tall man walked to the podium on stage and tapped on the microphone several times.
