Today grandma and papa are quite busy because today is the day that they are organizing the storage of rice crops this year in the rice warehouse located behind the house. The rice that had been harvested from noon had been packed all into sacks that had been prepared and transported to the grandmother's house to be put in the morning warehouse, only tomorrow will be put back out for drying. My grandmother, who at that time was sick with a recurrence, finally asked Papa to help supervise all their "annual activities" and finally papa memapah grandmother to rest in her room. After the grandmother entered her room and lay in bed, papa again stepped out of the room towards the back of the house towards the rice warehouse. The paddy carriers went in and out of the barn and Papa watched them all closely, and also helped them to re-tidy the sacks that had entered the barn. My papa is really happy because this year's harvest is quite abundant, although less than last year.
Today papa is really tired because from morning already in the middle of the rice fields to directly supervise the rice harvest process in aid with one of the farmers who I know as papa's right hand in the process this paddy field management. This rice field is my family's rice field which happens to be the management of this rice field grandmother entrusted to my papa after my grandfather died a few years ago because other papa brothers prioritize their business and business respectively. After all the sacks of rice were already in the warehouse, the last thing they did was to transport a fairly large and heavy rice scale that required up to at least 4 people to transport it into the warehouse. Rice warehouse buildings that are quite high from the ground require them to be careful to transport the scales otherwise their legs can be injured by the scales. After they had all finished bringing the scales into the warehouse, Papa began to order all the carriers to line up regularly to receive their wages. The day had begun to move in the afternoon, and the carriers and farmers had stepped out of the warehouse after they got their respective wages. Now they all go to the front porch of the house to enjoy fried cassava, a variety of wet cakes, and, and some warm black coffee cups that have been provided by the aunt of my grandmother's housekeeper at the behest of my grandmother to fill their stomachs after a day in the rice fields and rice warehouses. While my father was still behind the house in front of the warehouse with the father of the farmer trust papa.
"It's late in the afternoon, it's all done" the farmer's father wiped his sweat with a towel duster that he delivered around his neck.
"Yes sir, I want the key to the warehouse as well" Papa stepped up the stairs to the warehouse door to lock it.
A loud creaking sound was heard as papa was about to close the door of the warehouse and before he could reach the padlock on the door of the warehouse, he heard a strange noise from inside the warehouse. The hissing sound that was quite sharp and fleeting also sounded like the sound of giggling laughter that sounded so soft. Papa was stunned and his face immediately paled, his movements pecked and had yet to completely close the door of the warehouse. The father of the farmer who saw papa had not yet locked the door of the warehouse felt a little surprised and took the initiative to approach papa.
"What's Koh?, the door hasn't been locked?, is there an forgetfulness?",
"No sir, no one has forgotten. Just from inside me like hearing a strange voice sir, what you also hear.", Papa's voice slowly shrinks and slowly when explaining about the strange sound heard.
"Oh Allah, what is Koh?", the farmer was also surprised to hear it and immediately looked up into the warehouse followed by papa who pushed the door of the warehouse so it was wide open.
And how shocked they both saw the two mysterious black figures inside the warehouse, they were so jet black and only left their bright red eyes that looked very scary. One figure is like hiding among neatly arranged rice sacks, while the other figure was sitting on a pile of rice and was seen staring at papa and the farmer pack with a piercing sharp gaze accompanied by the sounds they had previously heard. Seeing that papa and the farmer immediately panicked, and papa also immediately grabbed the door of the warehouse to lock it with trembling hands while chanting the sacred prayers in his heart as well as the farmer who was incessantly reciting some holy verses. After papa was sure the door was locked, the two of them immediately ran off to the front porch of the house with a frightened and pale face. The farmer immediately joined with the transporters and other farmers to enjoy the dishes available there and papa permission to ask himself to enter the house. Papa went straight into the grandmother's room to hand the keys to the rice warehouse to the grandmother. Looking at the face of papa who was still frightened and deathly pale, grandma asked what had happened until papa's face was like that.
"Anu nah.tadi in the rice warehouse...."
Papa sighed for a moment and began to tell what had happened earlier as he and the farmer pack would lock the door of the rice warehouse. Hearing the papa story earlier, the grandmother remembered when the management of rice fields was still held by the late grandfather. Because grandfather also once saw the creepy figure and it also happened when the afternoon like this. Hearing that, papa reminded himself if later he would return to take care of the rice field harvest for next year, all must be done before the afternoon arrives so that events like this do not happen again.
