The House 1937's
6. Take Grass

That afternoon after dinner papa and my aunt were still at the dining table while eating the rest of the fried tempeh that was still served there with the pasta made by their favorite grandmother. In addition to the two of them, there was a maid aunt who was cleaning dirty eating utensils and was washing them in the dishwasher behind them. Grandma stepped up to go to her room and left those who were still having a conversation.

"Is it really that rich ko kemaren so in the rice warehouse?", My aunt saw my father with flabbergasted eyes after hearing my father's story about the terrible thing that you experienced in the rice warehouse with the farmer's pack the other day.

"Truly neng, very horrified, said Enah used to pas Babah who takes care of rice fields also never saw.", Papa showed a serious dream of vaja as if he did not want to be told a lie by his youngest sister.

"When next year's harvest what?, Koko will be going to the warehouse again.", my aunt looks afraid to imagine if she herself saw the terrible creature.

"Yes designed before the afternoon neng.., if you can", papa ate back his fried tempeh with a face that was a little resigned while thinking, papa, grandfather had long taken care of and managed the family-owned rice fields that would automatically always go to the warehouse for the process of storing rice sacks. About how many times has Grandpa seen this terrible creature?, he even knew about this from grandma.

"But Koko was once horrified who had not lost serem loh neng.", papa again put up a serious mimic, a little amused to see his sister look frightened. If there is a grandmother, she may have been scolded because it was considered to scare her sister.

"What else ko?,", my aunt again looked curious, while occasionally rubbing her cheeks because of itching, and, indeed, if it is late in the evening so many mosquitoes are flying here and there from the empty land behind this kitchen.

"Pak Tani himself who told Koko, at that time the same permit man Enah take the grass behind for his car.....",

That afternoon Pak Tani came to the grandmother's house to ask permission to go to the back of the house to carve the weeds for her buffalo feed. Usually he ordered one of his sons to come during the day to ask permission to the grandmother to go to the backyard carving the weeds. But because his son was unable to come and he was busy in the rice fields from morning until afternoon, finally after finishing his work in the rice fields he immediately brought his celurit, a kind of sharp crescent-shaped weapon and went to grandma's house.

"Excuse me Nah.", Mr. Tani knocked on the front door quite loudly while calling my grandmother. Because the house is quite spacious, Mr. Tani had to knock it a little hard to be heard by people in the house.

"Oh yes sir, what's the matter here in the afternoon?", Grandma thought she might want to meet papa, but she remembered not usually in the afternoon like this.

"Oh Well sorry to disturb, I want to hitchhike to the back Well used to take the grass. My son who used to take it again can not come here. I was in the paddy field until afternoon, so I'm perfect now.", Grandma saw the celurit brought by Mr. Tani, and I saw the celurit, my grandmother knew that Mr. Tani had long served his family for the management of family rice fields since my great-grandfather was still alive who at that time was still the Father of Pak Tani who helped his stewardship, after his father died, he was the one who replaced him, but still seeing people come in this afternoon and carrying weapons made my grandmother a little afraid.

"Oh yes sir, gapapa ngarit aja behind. Let the kebon back not really bala*.., just be careful sir is afraid there uler.", replied my grandmother.

"Yes thank you Enah.., the Engkoh where Nah?, again out huh?", Mr. Tani a little mince to ask the whereabouts of my papa.

"Yes again out he, understand young people.", answered my grandmother casually who was greeted with laughter by Mr. Tani. He understood very well with the shadow of the papa who terbesit in his mind is still relatively young, 25 years old. But it has been busy with its merchandise in the Market and also takes care of family rice fields.

"Yes if that's what I'm sorry Nah.", the farmer begs himself to go directly to the back of the house and my grandmother just nodded briefly.

When it was near the granny chicken coop that was shaped like a rickety hut house, Pak Tani stopped for a moment to use the mosquito repellent lotion that he had prepared beforehand. Empty land with wild plants like this is a favorite place for mosquitoes and other insects. If you do not do "preparation" like this, it could be bitten by dengue mosquitoes or malaria mosquitoes. After he finished, he again put on his gloves and grasped his celurit back then walked to the part that was overgrown with clay and then sawn carefully. He noticed that around the weeds there was a snake hiding among the grass. It sliced quite a lot of grass and according to his estimation the grass he had sawn was enough to feed his buffalo for four days. After he finished carving, he then cleaned the grass by putting it in the sack he had prepared, binding it, binding it, and form a rope tied to the sack it becomes like a large white backpack with a green color on it. He picked up his sickle that was on the ground but near the proper tool shed next to the rice barn as wild as he saw something, something strange black. If it were a snake, it would definitely not look like that. Mr. Tani was silent for a moment by tightly grasping the celurit in his right hand. He was afraid of dangerous animals or foreigners who would have bad intentions to enter without permission to this land. Before long strange sounds began to be heard, like the sound of a pig fluttering just that his voice sounded short, yet loud and frightening. He flinched and vigilantly searched for where the source of the sound was. And with his own eyes not far in front of him was seen a pitch-black pig of an unusual size, too big for the size of a pig. The big pig looked quite scary coupled with his piercingly sharp gaze and again let out a quite disturbing sound. The gaze of the unusual pig creature on Mr. Tani who tried as calmly as possible immediately raised his palm, closed his eyes and prayed reciting holy verses. And the Pig creature seemed to be in pain, unable and overheated by what Mr. Tani did and the creature slowly vanished, it completely disappeared and the farmer rubbed his palms on his face slowly the sign he had finished praying and did not hear any more disturbing sounds from the creature. He put his celurit on the sack strap at the top, carried the sack like a large backpack, then moved away from the land with a step that was getting almost half running. When passing through the front porch of the house, look papa who just arrived and amazed to see Mr. Tani with sack of grass with facial expression tense tend to pale walking half run away from home. My papa was just grouching looking at Mr. Tani's expression earlier.

See what else?
