The House 1937's

The House 1937's
57. Storeroom

After Papa was bothered with a lot of his business a few days ago, he finally decided to do a renovation of the warehouse which is located next to the rice warehouse in the back of the house. Papa had talked about this with his grandmother before, Papa spoke to Grandma that the warehouse needed to need renovation because the roof was fragile and seen in some parts already hollow. It could have damaged the items stored in it by rainwater due to a leaky roof. After a fairly tough discussion between the mother and the child, Grandma finally agreed to renovate the warehouse. Granny, remember since my late grandfather who had long died, the warehouse has not undergone renovation.

"Indeed should be renovated now?", asked Grandma frowned, seeing Papa who was so serious about explaining the renovation plan.

"Well, if you don't hurry in the renovation, fear leaks and items in the warehouse can be damaged.", he said...", Even Papa had to real buy time to discuss Mama's problems for the sake of this renovation plan

"Alright Jun, if the warehouse wants to be renovated, yes renovations only. The cave does not want if until all the goods in the warehouse are damaged or turned away because the warehouse is rotten...", Grandma knew exactly the last thing mentioned was still happening a lot today.

"Yes Well, that's why the warehouse had to be renovated immediately.", Papa gave a brief nod, indirectly agreeing with the grandmother's last statement.

"When will the renovation be done, Jun?", Grandma sipped her fresh warm tea, they were both chatting in the bale in the grandmother's house. Papa was somewhat surprised by the grandmother who even drank warm tea, even though the weather was hot like this.

"It will be done quickly, but not yet in the rainy season" Papa drank a bottle of cold sarsaparilla directly from the bottle.

"Lu want to call who for the renovation?", For matters of renovation or other things related to the house, grandma does rely on Papa.

Papa thought for a moment.

"Maybe Jun will call the handyman and the barber who was taking care of the roof renovation, Well.., they are all good at work..",

"Yes, I'll take care of the renovation...",

"Bi, later to put the rice basket and side dishes, just put it on the unused wooden table that is right next to the outside of this kitchen, the artisans and foremen will arrive", Grandma's orders to Bi Inah with a warm rice basket in her hand.

"Yes Well", Bi Inah slowly began to move one by one the rice basket and all the side dishes to the table that Grandma meant. Bi Inah had to walk back and forth to move everything. When finished, Bi Inah did not immediately return to the kitchen, he instead glanced at the warehouse that will be renovated today.

Bi Inah watched for a moment the old warehouse, the warehouse that exactly stood in line with the rice warehouse. At the look of it however, the warehouse did look fragile and old. Unlike the rice warehouse, which although also an old warehouse, but looks sturdy with walls and roofs made of real teak wood, with a section of warehouse floors made of cement, and, the cement floor section of the warehouse is deliberately made higher than the ground, to prevent flooding when the rainy season arrives. It can be said, one of the outside of this house is indeed rarely Bi Inah noticed, at most he only saw it for a while while while feeding bran to the chicken boiler. But today, the old warehouse was quite attracting his attention.

Bi Inah was silent for a moment and was still standing next to the table, waiting if Grandma's voice came back to call him?. After a long while he waited, no more granny voices could be heard, perhaps Grandma had returned to guard in her stall.

This is a good opportunity, I don't know what makes Bi Inah curious and eager to look into the warehouse. He did remember some people he knew once told me that this old warehouse was a haunted warehouse. However, it did not dampen his intention to enter the old warehouse. After all this had gone by noon, and he had absolutely no ill intentions when he entered the warehouse.

Bi Inah watched his footsteps as he walked towards the door of the warehouse. He really had to be careful because it could have been behind the grass that he stepped on, there was a snake hiding. One of Najim's friends had been patted by a snake because his foot accidentally stepped on the poor snake whose existence was scratched with grass until he had to be taken to the puskesmas because it was hit by a snake. Bi Inah stared towards the surrounding land and grass, and also stared towards the house. Seeing the condition was safe, Bi Inah held the door of the warehouse that was not locked. Grandma deliberately did not lock it for renovation today, if you look around maybe some days this house will be a little crowded by the builder and foreman, he said, because it took a long time to do the renovation of this warehouse. In view of the existing building materials, maybe the warehouse will be renovated to resemble a rice warehouse that is next to it.

Aunty let out a short sigh, opened the chain that wrapped around the door of the warehouse, the door of this warehouse also looks just as fragile, even tends to be easy if there is a thief who wants to damage the door. Indeed, the renovation is the right step planned by Papa and Grandma so as not to leak when it rains and is not prone to be entered by the thief. After a long time Bi Inah tried to open the old door jammed, finally he managed to open the door along with a creaking sound from the door hinge that sounded quite loud. And the darkness that came from the storehouse welcomed him.
