The House 1937's

The House 1937's
9. Who's Up Above?

Already this whole day the aunt lay weakly in her bedroom bed with occasional loud coughing sounds. Seeing the aunt who arrived like that, Grandma finally told aunt to rest in her room and also told papa to buy cough medicine for aunt. Maybe because he was too tired and because of his age he had already reached head six, making him no longer able to do as much homework as usual. You could say this aunt has been working in this house for so long since grandma just married grandpa. And the aunt also helped the grandmother take care of four grandmist children consisting of two boys, where papa was the second boy, then two daughters, and then two daughters, my grandmother's first daughter is now married and living with her husband, and my second daughter is my aunt who still lives in this house.

Bibi grabbed a glass filled with water, a glass made of cans with green and white motifs and then drank slowly. He held his chest for a moment to stabilize his breathing. This cough was indeed very torturous and made his throat hurt, at first it was only a mild cough and he only took ordinary medicine. But the more he got older he felt his cough was getting worse and increasingly making him uncomfortable. And today is the worst when his cough feels back, he gasps and his throat hurts. Tomorrow morning grandma plans to take aunt to the doctor assisted papa and aunt to accompany her.

"No need to go to the doctor. So bother.", replied the aunt when the grandmother told her she would take the aunt to the doctor.

"Ga nothing bi, tomorrow in Anterin Jun same Alin use the car. Don't say bother bi, aunt has been working here a long time, answered my grandmother who already considers aunt as part of the family. Jun and Alin that my grandmother mentioned earlier are nicknames of my father and my aunt.

"I.iya Well, thanks to me to be taken to the doctor.", Aunt felt touched by my grandmother and her family, she was considered family and treated very well during this time. Actually aunt had one daughter who was the same age as my youngest aunt, but now she is married and living in Sumedang with her husband approximately one year after the death of her husband. When her son invited her to come live with him, the aunt refused and still wanted to live here devoted to the grandfather's family who turned out to have worked since my great-grandfather was alive. Formerly her husband also worked with his grandfather's family as a farmer and rice hauler, he died of lung pain that he had long suffered. Seeing an aunt who was so loyal to her family, of course, grandma was very attentive to her especially now that aunt is only alone here.

In the evening after the bath and dinner, the aunt rested in her room next to the kitchen which was only sealed by a bamboo booth without a roof covering. the room is quite simple with an old bed with mosquito nets covering the bed and a closet with an old design.

after taking papa's medicine and sitting for almost an hour in his bed, finally the aunt decided to just go to bed and close the bed nets so that no mosquitoes entered. Drowsiness has indeed been felt after some time minimal papa giving drugs that may indeed be the effect of the drug itself.

"Mom, what is bi?, this is why there is a cup lid outside the bi?", asked papa who was half panicked but also restrained his sleepiness.

"I was gapapa Koh.., just surprised",

Finally, the aunt opened her cubicle door with a face that still looked terrified.

"Why bi?", papa asked with a worried face fearing something happened with the housekeeper who also nurtured him since childhood.

Aunty gestured for papa to whisper something, and papa immediately understood and brought his ear closer to aunt.

"So there was a head that peeped me from the top of Koh's room...."
