The House 1937's
53. Seeking Truth (7)

They had arrived at that nice and majestic looking main altar. There were only a few guards passing by who seemed to be doing their work, cleaning the altar table from the falling hio dust and replacing the burned hio rods. While waiting for Chun In, the two of them walked to the washbasin to wash their hands, then to the large table on which was a pile of hio that had been rolled and rubbed with yellow paper. After burning all the hio on fire in one of the large enough candles, they began to pray in the outermost Altar of this temple, the Altar of the Almighty God, then proceed to the altars of the Gods that are in the interior of the Temple. After they finished praying, they returned to the main altar, waiting for Chun In while leaning against the wall near the entrance of this main altar.

After waiting for some time, finally the Chun In they were waiting for finally came, through the main entrance next to them. Babah Hwan's son greeted them kindly, and gave instructions to Papa and Om Herman to follow him in front of the large altar table, Chun In picked up two medium-sized glass bottles of water on the table, with a few sheets of yellow paper inscribed with strange letters, at first glance the paper is similar to a talisman that makes the vampire unable to move if the paper is attached to his forehead like in classic Mandarin horror films.

"What is this Koh?", Papa noticed for a moment both the bottle and the yellow paper. At first glance, the yellow paper was similar to the yellow paper that was affixed behind the door of the house.

"This water for Engkoh to drink, mix a little with ordinary water, so that the disturbance of the creature can be much reduced. Most importantly, Engkoh must continue to pray diligently, asking for protection from the Almighty God. And this yellow paper can be used by burning it in a glass, mixed with ordinary water to drink as well, this yellow paper can be used if the disturbance has touched or physically injured, the paper said, I gave this paper just in case of Koh.", Chun In explained in detail the usefulness of the rod he took at this large table.

"Well Koh, I understand.", Papa nodded in understanding, holding the glass bottle and the yellow papers in turn.

"For Engkoh's own house, sorry Koh, the solution I can give is, Engkoh and family do have to get out of the house, what I'm giving this is so that the creature does not interfere anymore or minimize other distractions.", Chun In actually wanted to convey this from yesterday when Papa and Om Herman came to his house. However, he considered and decided to explain it today alone on the main altar of the Temple.

"Okay Koh, it's okay. I understand.", Papa sighed for a moment and nodded his head. In his heart, he felt a little relieved. His arrival far to this temple was in accordance with what he expected.

"Why Jun and Engkoh Herman have prayed?", Chun In looked at Papa and Om Herman in turn.

"We have prayed Koh, before Engkoh got here.", replied Om Herman who was standing next to Papa, nudging papa's shoulder while nodding slowly with his pants pocket. Papa who understood the gesture from Om Herman also reached into his pocket. Papa and Om Herman took out a small white envelope they had filled with money. Om Herman handed the envelope to Papa, and Papa gave the envelope to Chun In, clenching the two envelopes tight enough into his hands.

"Koh, we've got a little windfall. To buy a cigarette, thank ya Koh.", Papa continues to clench Chun In's hand with the envelope in his hand.

"Yes Koh, windfall for Engkoh.." Om Herman added while patting Chun In on the shoulder.

"I also thank You Koh, Engkoh took the time to come here.", Chun In summarized his hands to Papa and Om Herman, respectively, they both did the same thing as a sign of gratitude.

"Engkoh-Engkoh already ate?, Ncek Afung said today his wife brought her cooking to the kitchen of the Temple..", Chun In pointed to the inner door of the Temple, and said, a few moments ago when he stepped in through the main gate, Ncek Afung approached him and told him that today his wife brought his homemade cuisine to the kitchen of Klenteng, the kitchen of Klenteng, because today his wife cooked quite a lot and was also told that in this temple the arrival of a guest who is the son of Babah Hwan's best friend.

"There's no Koh show, just bring the cuisine here. Ncek Afung said, today his wife cook excess, so brought here...",

"Oh so Koh.., I guess what event...",

"If Engkoh-Engkoh wants to go straight to the back. After this I want to go, there's business...",

"Oh Yes Koh Chun In. Thank you in advance Koh, want Nerima an impromptu guest to come here...",

"Together Koh. Don't feel bad. Whenever Engkoh wants to come here, I am happy.., Mari Koh.", Chun In begs to leave the main altar room. And now only Papa and Om Herman are left standing there looking at Chun In who stepped away from the main gate of the Temple.

"Where is Jun?, Mau ga?", Om Herman again nudged papa, and gave a black plastic bag to papa, the plastic he gave to wrap the water bottle and yellow paper.

"What?", Papa received the plastic bag, and immediately put the glass bottle and yellow paper into it.

"You want to go back?, good free food...",

"Regularly, listen to the free, immediately the spirit...",

Papa just shook his head, but he nodded and walked slowly towards the back of the Temple, precisely the kitchen to see the food that was told by Chun In. Arriving at the kitchen section of the Temple, Papa and Om Herman slightly overstretched. They were quite surprised by the white rice and various side dishes that were still warm and looked very delicious. There are yellow fried chicken, sour vegetables, fried anchovies with beans, tucked sambal, three baked petai boards, and vegetables that are really appetizing. Their attention was then turned to the sound of Ncek Afung greeting them kindly and allowing them to enjoy the dish he had prepared.

"Engkoh.., today my wife overcooked. This is what I brought to Engkoh Jun and Engkoh Herman..",

"Thank you so much Koh, I'm so not feeling good. To bother Engkoh bring a lot of food for me the same Herman...",
