The Incomplete Love

The Incomplete Love
Struggle

In a private hangar, Devan, Qiara and their children say goodbye to Thoriq and Kala.

Not usually triplets are not chattering. Abby is holding Liam. The girl's eyes were puffy as it would leave her brother thousands of kilometers away.

Don't ask how Qiara feels. Two nights he could not sleep thinking of Kala who would stay with his father.

“Buna, say if you do not want Kala in Indonesia,” said Kala while staring at Netra Qiara.

“I don't peg Mas in Indonesia!” Abby half yelled.

“Mas home with us!”

“I want to same Mas Kala.”

Protests also came out of the triplets who now besieged Kala. While Abby sobbing crying in Liam's arms.

Qiara tried to toughen up. He knew Kala's desire to stay with Thoriq was not just to accompany him. Kala wants to be closer to her father. Fourteen years he met only through a video call with Thoriq.

“Qia, are you sure? Mas seneng Kala wants to stay here, but if it's hard for Qia, better Kala come back to London.”

“Mas come home,” Hayyan whine that has been attached to her brother.

Qiara stroked her son's cheek. Kala is not a child anymore who used to be always spoiled. His mind is getting older. Although Devan has never been lacking in love and guidance, it is time to get to know Thoriq not only through video calls.

“You're fine here yes, dear. You have to be good at adapting to the environment here. Keep praying and teaching. Sama nurut Aya. Buna Phone anytime. Buna ... Buna love Kala.”

Qiara and Kala hugged each other tightly. The mother and son were never separated except when Kala was kidnapped. Kala is the school for Qiara to be a mother. Kala teaches the unbridled affection of a mother to her child.

Reluctant to break off the embrace, Qiara finally cupped her son's face. His eyes stared softly, watching his son closely.

“Buna loves you so much, Kala. Always, always remember. We love you so much.”

“Kala also love Buna.”

Qiara releases Kala to now hug Devan.

“Hey kiddo, I bought you into this world. You are forever my son. Call me anytime. I love you, you know that?” Devan tried to hide his sadness.

“Daddy ..” Kala hugged Devan tightly.

“When you will live all of Daddy's messages. Wait after High School, Kala will study medicine in England,” he continued.

“Daddy wait.”

Now it was Liam's turn, behind the cool attitude, the seventeen-year-old held back the grief.

“Kala, we have no blood relation, but you are my sister, my best friend. Honestly, I don't like waking up tomorrow when your room is empty. But, Bro, you must realize your wish. I'll support you a thousand percent.”

They do the usual toss. Then cuddle. Their hands patted each other's shoulders encouraging each other.

“Kids ..” Kala calls the triplets then sits down to equalize the height with them. The three immediately hugged Kala. Sobbing crying on her brother's shoulder.

“Do not fight, take care of each other, yes.”

“Naggot,” says Barran is the most vocal of the three.

“Mas Kala, if I don't know what math?” Hayyan asked as he rubbed his eyes.

“Video call me. Indonesia is six hours faster, Hayyan timed it, okay?”

“If I want to play badminton how?” Azka.

“It's time you play against your brothers.” Kala shuffles Azka's curls.

The last Abby who immediately splashed into the arms of Kala.

“Mas, Abby promises to keep your figurines clean. My good one here. Abby is sure to miss.”

“Still, Abby. Anyway Mas go home, the room must be neat.”

“Ay ay, Captain.” Kala kissed Abby's cheeks and forehead. They promised to exchange messages as often as possible.

The co-pilot gave a sign that they had a flying permit.

Qiara turned to Thoriq.

“Mas ..”

“Mas will always take care of Kala. In shaa Allah.”

Qiara nodded. Devan shakes up Thoriq. Before getting into Devan's private jet, Qiara, and her children hugged. I don't know when they can be fully assembled again because next year Liam will go to college.

Thoriq looked at his fragile-looking ex-wife.

“Qia, Mas will not be disappointed you and Devan. Kala will always keep, in shaa Allah,” his promise in the heart.

Before long, the plane took off leaving Thoriq and Kala, which continued to wave until the iron bird moved away through the clouds.

“Good afternoon Ms. Hanna,” greet some of the santriwati who cross paths with Hanna in the school hallway.

Santriwati at the very back just nodded at a glance without a smile, continuing to pass with his friends.

Hanna stared at the witch until she walked down the stairs to her classroom.

“Mama is looking at you happy, son. Alhamdulillahot. May Allah ease your steps in demanding knowledge.”

It has been three months Aira became a santri in the pesantren. As he promised Thoriq and Kala, Aira would be polite to his mother but would not be more than that.

Aira considers Hanna to be nothing more than a teacher or an employee at her boarding school. He claimed to be an orphan to friends and teachers until it reached his mother's ears.

“Aira, so shy you think Mama is dead,” lament Hanna in heart.

Of all the punishments received, the toughest is the rejection of Aira. Hanna really struggled on her own. Thoriq is as good as Aira. It was not that Hanna was expecting the help of her ex-husband, but at least she wished she could wonder about Aira's likes and habits.

“If you want to know about your child, go for it. Did you give birth to Aira?” thoriq replied when Hanna met him during a visit.

Finally Hanna observed Aira from afar. At lunch, he noticed any side dishes that aroused Aira's appetite.

Chicken pepes and dried fried fish are his favorite side dishes.

The most sought after snack is fried oncom. Aira likes breakfast with pieces of fruit, only after that she ate the porridge of the ijo beans.

Aira likes light blue. When allowed out pesantren because the value is good and the deposit of memorization verse Qur’an is perfect, Aira chose to wear a long veil of light blue color.

Many times Hanna was envious of the warmth of Thoriq, Kala, and Aira. He wants to be able to chat like his mother and daughter. That's the hope, nothing more.

As usual, Hanna peeked in the dining room to see Aira having breakfast with her friends. It looks cheerful and eats voraciously the variety of cut fruits that are prepared.

“Patience, I'm sure God will soften your son's heart.” Ella's Ustadzah was already standing beside Hanna as she looked into the dining room.

“In shaa Allah, Bu.”

“Hanna, di mejamu ada berkas Aira untuk ikut lomba tilawah di Malaysia bulan depan. Tolong persiapkan semuanya, ya. Dia sudah dapat ijin dari ayahnya.”

Hanna hid her pride with gratitude. As a depraved mother, she is still blessed with the son of sholihah.

“Oya, later you will be his companion.”

Hanna's eyes were wide. “Bu, is it right? Will his father come? Hanna hasn't

can ...”

“Must be because it's a job. Oya process also Latifah application. Dicky will also be accompanying. Parents will find their own accommodation and transportation. We just take care of santri-santri. Give a schedule to santri so they can tell their fathers. Don't worry, I'll also come.”

“Aira, Latifah, this is our schedule in Malaysia.”

A week after the conversation with Ella, Hanna called two students who would represent the boarding school for the Malaysia race.

“Thank you, Mom,” sahut Latifah with a friendly smile. Aira accepted and just nodded and thanked him at a glance.

“Please pass it to your father and uncle so you can adjust the clock to depart and go home. Because this is a school affair there you should not stay with parents.”

“I roommate Latifah, right?” Aira asked in a cold tone. Hanna knew this was how her son told her he didn't want to go to the room with his mother.

“In shaa Allah, Aira.”

“Yes, yes!” Latifah is two years younger than Aira.

Hanna and some administration officers smiled. Latifah is indeed very expressive, according to people the exact same nature as his late mother.

“We're back to class yes, Ms. Hanna. Come on, Brother Aira. I really like that we in Malaysia can room. This is my first time abroad,” chattering Latifah while holding Aira.

Hanna looked at her son who was just nodding at her with a cold look, without a smile.

A few days after Latifah delivered the scheduled departure and arrangement of events in Malaysia, Dicky looked into the ticket and accommodation search app in his practice room. He sighed.

He scrolls down on his phone screen again, looking for the cheapest round-trip tickets. It was the first time for Latifa to go abroad and Dicky was still not comfortable letting his niece go alone without her.

No one thought his life as a specialist was far from enough. Instead of having no patients, Dicky is a skin and genital specialist who deepens as well about beauty. Among mothers, he was quite successful in making their skin glow.

“Bismillaah, the blessing of God of love. Spirit!”

Dicky bought a Semarang-Jakarta train ticket, then he would wait at the airport. Finally he bought the cheapest ticket with a flight at three in the morning and arrived at approximately dawn.

Upon arrival in Kuala Lumpur he will wait at the airport until he can enter the hotel booked a bit away from the race venue. The price is much cheaper than the hotel booked boarding school for his nephew. He can take the MRT or bus to the race.

After finishing ordering, Dicky saw the time was already showing at seven o'clock at night. He took a jacket from his closet and turned on the app to receive an inter-message message.

Dicky was grateful that night the order was crowded. No one thought that the person delivering their packages was a specialist.

Until twelve in the evening, Dicky decided to go home because seven in the morning had to be in the hospital tomorrow.

He entered a rented house that was not too big. Usually he would look to Latifah and Fatimah's room before cleaning himself and sleeping.

After Latifah and Fatimah lived in the pesantren, the house felt very quiet. He broke his body and let go of fatigue.

A message came in:

Tomorrow's transfer of five million rupiah. Last month you paid less. If you are still backing down then I re-activate interest on flowers and fines per day.

Dicky sighed and replied:

Good.

\~Flash back on\~

“Oom Dicky, Latifah and Fatimah live where?”

His two nephews wept bitterly in front of the grave of his mother who died with the victims of a bus accident on the highway.

“Latifah does not want to separate from Fatimah, Oom,” isak Latifah on his shoulders.

Dicky looked at his only brother's grave. He recently graduated as a specialist doctor after receiving a scholarship from a foundation.

“Do not worry Oom will take care of you.” Dicky hugged his nephew.

Their father ran away somewhere after Latifah was born. Dicky's older sister Aisya is a dentist so can still support her children. It's just that Dicky was surprised because his brother lived in a very mediocre line as a dentist.

A few days after Aisya died, her home was visited by her husband's brother and sister. They show their father a house certificate and ask Dicky and his nieces to leave.

They said that as long as there was Aisya, they were willing to live in the house, but after Aisya died they wanted to sell their father's house.

Dicky tried to defend for the sake of his nephews, but the certificate bearing the name of his brother's father-in-law was much stronger. They were given a month to find a new home.

Not lost his surprise, a group of debt collectors came to declare that his brother-in-law has a debt of one billion and Aisya has paid off half of it.

Dicky's head was pulsing. Every month he has to pay fifteen million rupiah. The interest-bearing interest system keeps her sister-in-law's debt mounting. Now he understands why his brother lives so modestly for the size of a dentist.

Dicky had no choice. Aisha has little savings. The man undertakes to pay installments on the condition that there are no flowering flowers. Or he'll take it all viral. The debtor finally agrees and makes a black deal on white.

The foundation that gave the scholarship recommended him to work at the local hospital. As a young specialist with little pay, Dicky supported his two nephews, paid installments, and rented out. He took additional jobs as a purchasing supervisor as well as as a bulge driver at night after his hospital practice.
