The Legend of the Sacred Sword Cultivator

The Legend of the Sacred Sword Cultivator
Ch 2: Beginning in the Valley of Hell

For three whole days Xiao Ming continued to treat Yang Jian's wounds until he recovered and did not allow him to do any work.

The morning before sunrise Yang Jian had already woken up from his sleep his face looked fresh and his body had also recovered, he then washed his face. Yang Jian looked around the house there were many herbs and fruits that were so strange to Yang Jian, only this first time he saw all of them.

He stepped his foot into the kitchen to see what he could cook for his savior, he did not want to bother Xiao Ming too much because after all Yang Jian remained hitchhiking in this place.

Yang Jian's residence was quite simple yet unique, his house was made of very hard wood and gave off a refreshing herbal aroma while calming the mind. It seems that wood is not just wood.

There are two bedrooms, a kitchen, a spacious room, a library full of books and a warehouse. The house has a fence and is surrounded by many plants.

"Well..what should I cook?"

Yang Jian scratched his head which was not itchy. He didn't see any food he could cook.

"What are you doing Yang Jian?"

Yang Jian gasped in shock at the sound from behind him.

" Ah, senior Xiao. I just want to cook for breakfast we just don't have any groceries here"

Xiao Ming smiled and walked towards Yang Jian, he stroked Yang Jian's head crest gently" How are you Jian'er doing? "

Hearing that Yang Jian did not answer her, her eyes were teary. He did not expect the person he just knew would care for him. The affection and attention that Xiao Ming had given him over these few days was able to melt his heart.

Suddenly Yang Jian hugged Xiao Ming

"Father.." Her tears were unstoppable again, white circles fell on Yang Jian's smooth cheeks, her chest tightened and her body trembled.

" Don't leave Yang Jian father." he cried.

Xiao Ming gasped in shock at Yang Jian's treatment, yet he understood that Yang Jian was a seven-year-old child who still needed parental affection.

Xiao Ming knelt down to align his body with Xiao Ming, he clenched the child's body affectionately while patting his back softly. Yang Jian's cry grew firmer as Xiao Ming hugged his body.

"Calm down Jian'er, I won't leave you"

Xiao Ming tried to calm Yang Jian down.

One night as Xiao Ming was treating Yang Jian he had asked about Yang Jian's origin and family. However strangely his Yang Jian did not remember anything about it. He did not remember his life before arriving at the Valley of Hell. Although Yang Jian knew about how life was in society.

Finally Xiao Ming did not inquire further as he found no signs of lies on Yang Jian's face.

" Jian'er from now on I am your father, father promised never to leave you" he said as he wiped away Yang Jian's tears. Actually Xiao Ming knew that he would never keep his promise, but somehow he did not want to make the child in his arms grieve.

"really?" asked Yang Jian expectantly

" Right son, I am your father, and you are my son."

Xiao Ming explained that he was a legendary cultivator who had traveled a lot in the martial world, he chose to stay in the Valley of Hell for some reason.

He did not explain about his origin and how he could get to the valley, which was obviously a task he had to complete in this place.

Xiao Ming began to explain what a cultivator was and how martial world life was.

It is said that in the martial world is very cruel there is also a law that the strong are in power and the weak will be oppressed, so if you want to be appreciated and respected, you must have strength.

Often life was not an expensive price for cultivators, Yang Jian seemed enthusiastic to hear it, his countenance was also fickle in every part of his father's story.

"Well Jian'er, are you interested in becoming a great cultivator?"

The look on Xiao Ming's face turned serious, he stared into his son's bead of eyes.

Yang Jian shook his head slowly as a sign of his disinterest in Xiao Ming's suggestion.

"Ahaha okay. But you have to find who you are, right? Then you can turn that excuse into a cultivator."

" Want father, Jian'er will be a great cultivator like father and will protect father from bad man." Yang Jian's answer was completely opposite to Xiao Ming's question. He seemed reluctant to discuss his family matters with the man whose father status was.

"Ha.ha.ha" Xiao Ming laughed amusedly at Yang Jian's innocent reply as it aimed to be strong to protect him.

"Listen son, we become strong not only to protect ourselves and our families, but we can use the power we have to help and protect good people as well to fight evil. Remember Jian'er use your power for good and wipe out evil from the face of the earth. Do you understand?" xiao Ming's tone changed resolutely

Yang Jian nodded slowly, "Jian'er understands father, I will always remember father's message."

" Good, from tomorrow I'll arrange your training schedule. Now I will go into the valley to gather resources that will be useful for the development of your practice. Today your job is to clean up my father's herb garden." Yang Jian nodded in agreement to his father's words.

Then Xiao Ming went to pick the fruit in his garden for his breakfast and Yang Jian,

he picked up some bright red fruits like apples.

"Eat Jian'er fruit is good for your health and growth." Xiao Ming introduced the fruit with the name red aplle, the fruit has many properties and includes being one of the rare fruits.

"Thank you father." they ate voraciously while occasionally conversing about the training Yang Jian would undergo, after which they began to go on their own errands.

" If you are hungry, eat the fruit in the back garden. I'll go first."

Yang Jian looked at his father's back which started to drift away with a smile.

"Jian'er promises to be strong and find himself someday."

After that Yang Jian started to clean the entire garden while studying the plant, occasionally he picked fruit that was cooked and quite interesting for him and kept it in the kitchen.
