Ch.16 - Necrokeep
Necrokeep was a land of the Undead in the Barren Lands. Necrokeep was originally the majestic Kingdom of Ridgeburg.
Several hundred years ago, the demon army invaded the Ridgeburg Kingdom. The slain king and the royal army that continues to be cornered until isolated in the Royal Capital forces the Queen to use forbidden magic.
The mist of despair spread throughout the royal capital, casting out the invading demons. But the forbidden magic actually made all the inhabitants of the kingdom become Undead.
Although with forbidden magic it saves them by turning them into Undead. The mist of despair had the effect of eroding souls so that those who were unable to endure would make their wits disappear until they became completely Undead.
Instead of grieving over the misfortune they experienced, they still craved a beautiful life. All the inhabitants who were already Undead guarded the kingdom, protecting a glimmer of hope from falling prey to the mist of despair.
Because of that fog of despair, Necrokeep was protected from the attacks of the demons for hundreds of years. But over time the fog weakened until now the incident hundreds of years ago again hit Necrokeep.
Tens of thousands of demons had already attacked Necrokeep's defensive fortress. Thousands of Necrokeep troops had been deployed, the war lasted for days and all of Necrokeep's troops were killed, although the Undead could not be said to be alive.
Now there was only one person left who was still tenaciously fighting against the demons. He was Leomord, the strongest knight of Necrokeep.
The days of fighting certainly drained Leomord a lot of stamina. Now he was sitting on a pile of demonic corpses while adjusting his breathing.
His gaze was still sharp without fear even though the enemies still numbered in the thousands.
Leomord wiped the demon blood on his cheek before descending from the pile of corpses. He walked slowly with the tip of the sword being dragged.
Several demons attacked, all of them were certainly slashed easily by Leomord. Although he was already exhausted but he was not that weak to be defeated by some low-level demons.
One demon attacked from the side, Leomord noticed, he immediately prepared an attack, his body was covered in a blue aura then pierced the demon's stomach into a hole.
*BOM!
A rhinoceros demon ran from behind Leomord, smashing into him until he was blown a dozen meters away.
Leomord looked towards the Fortress, there were still some warriors and a long green-haired beautiful woman who was the Queen of Necrokeep, Vexana.
“Excuse. i.” Leomord muttered softly.
*BAAMM!
An attack of green fire again hit Leomord's back until he was now helpless on the ground.
Seen tens of meters behind Leomord, the one who attacked earlier was a red-haired burly man with a pale face with a huge hammer weapon.
He was one of the Demon Generals, Tarizla.
“Protect in hell!” Terizla grins.
Vexana clenched her hands looking at her strongest knight lying helpless.
“Now no one can stop them,” the knight who was beside Vexana also clenched his hands, “no Leomord, nor did the fog.”
“A oath must be held firmly, Leomord will not leave us,” Vexana put on a firm expression, “we will continue to face this together.”
Vexana walks down from the fortress, followed by a dozen of her patron knights.
Terizla gave a hand signal and then all the demon troops numbering in the thousands immediately ran fast.
The gate of the fortress opened, dozens of Necrokeep warriors with full armor and weapons came out, forming a V formation, preparing to face the onslaught of demons.
“Our troops are falling, like a few hundred years ago,” Vexana gives words to improve the morale of his troops, “if this is the end for us, then I will fight together!”
Vexana kisses the forehead of the royal witch girl and takes her wand.
“They say Necrokeep is a place without a ray of light. But we will create light for our country!” Vexana brandishes her magic wand, “we will not give up!”
On the battlefield, an Undead horse ran fast towards the sprawled Leomord, the horse was Leomord's loyal parner, Barbiel.
Dozens of demons were already close to reaching Leomord, Barbiel would not have had the time to save his master. But before the demons reached Leomord, a wave of lightning struck them to death
A young man landed next to Leomord, he lifted Leomord's body and carried him up Barbiel's back.
Barbiel immediately turned back to the fortress no matter who the human youth had helped him.

About half an hour ago.
Alucard finally arrived in the land of Faramis. They were currently on top of a high mountain.
Indeed Necrokeep surrounded by high mountains that became their natural stronghold. So Necrokeep only built a fort in the south because only there was no mountain.
“It.. Necrokeep?” Alucard frowned, although this was the first time he had entered this deep into the Barren Lands, yet he had seen Necrokeep in the annals.
“Sial! The demons have come to attack!” Faramis clenched his hand seeing so many Necrokeep troops disembarking.
“So it turns out that the country you are referring to is Necrokeep, the land of the Undead! Are you also an Undead?!” Alucard pulled out his sword.
Although the Undead were not demons, but to Alucard both were the same.
“Quiet first, I'm not Undead. We've been traveling together for a few days so you should realize that I'm a human too.”
“Then how will you explain this?”
Faramis clenched his hands, wanting to directly help Necrokeep's troops but he was sure that if he had not given this young man an explanation, he would not have been let go.
“Necrokeep used to be the Kingdom of Ridgeburg which eventually became the land of the Undead because our Queen used forbidden magic in order to exorcise the demons. I who was outside the Kingdom was not exposed to the mist of despair until I had not turned into an Undead!..
I have for several hundred years achieved a way to heal all the inhabitants yet no potion has worked!..
But with the Orb Of Life, I can use the power of life to restore all the inhabitants to human beings. That's why I wanted to borrow that Orb Of Life once from you. This is for the sake of saving my country's inhabitants.”
Alucard clucked in annoyance and then lowered his sword.
“Alucard, Necrokeep's troops are desperate and can no longer fight. I beg you to help me fight the demons, I will activate magic to awaken all our troops. But I need that Twilight Orb.”
Alucard looked at the demons, seeing them alone already made him want to go straight down to the battlefield slaughtering them all.
Alucard takes out the Twillight Orb and gives it to Faramis.
“Take and quickly finish your business!” Alucard immediately moved swiftly towards the demons.
