CHAPTER 16

Tia opened the door slowly after the man in the room told her to come in. The 25-year-old looked at the door to see who was knocking on it. He frowned when he saw Tia coming into his room.

“Who are you? Can I help you?” he asked the man, whose name was Farel.

“Sorry Sir, my name is Tia. I came here to apply for a job. Two days ago I saw there was a job vacancy here,” Tia said politely.

“Sit!” farel. Tia nodded and sat down in the chair in front of Farel's desk.

“Where is your CV?” farel asked as he offered his hand.

“Sorry sir, I didn't bring it. I just graduated school and my diploma has not come out.. “ replied Tia honestly.

Farel looked at Tia closely. He saw Tia's pretty face, but her body was arguably thin or under normal weight. He felt sorry for Tia.

“You can wash dishes?” farel asked, smiling at Tia.

“Can Sir,” replied Tia while smiling too.

“Yes already, you can start working tomorrow. Make a job application letter that contains your biodata. Leave it to me tomorrow,” Farel told Tia.

“I accepted work Sir?” tanya Tia did not believe in the look of a happy face.

“Iya,” replied Farel briefly.

“Thank you sir, thank you,” Tia said as she shook Farel's hand with vigor.

After that Farel explained the working hours, regulations, and salaries that occurred in his cafe. Tia also understood and then resigned.

Tia came out of the cafe with a smile on her lips. He feels very happy. This is the first time he has got a job. Although only as a dishwasher, but he was grateful.

Arriving at the boarding house, he saw Arka was standing waiting for him earlier in front of the door of his room.

“Where are you from?” ask Arka a little annoyed. He had been waiting for Tia for almost two hours, but Tia did not show up either. There was no answer on the phone because Tia left her phone in the room.

“I came out for a while Arka,” replied Tia gently while unlocking her room door.

“Where?” arka asked as she entered Tia's room after the door opened.

“I ... I'm looking for work,” replied Tia briefly.

“Why are you looking for work? I can give you money,” said Arka a little angry.

“No Arka, I don't want to trouble you anymore,” said Tia bowed. He is self-conscious enough not to trouble others anymore.

“Accept?” asked Arka while looking at Tia. Tia nodded her head.

“Where?” ask Arka again.

“In the cafe where we ate two days ago,” replied Tia shriek. He was afraid that Arka was angry, but he also needed a job to connect his life. There's no way he's asking for Ark's money all the time.

“Yes already, let's eat. I had bought food before coming here,” said Arka while giving a bag of crackles to Tia. Tia took it and moved the food to the plate.

Next day

The Tia POV

This morning I woke up with a lot of excitement. It's my first day at work, I don't want to be late and make a bad impression on my first day at work. After bathing and changing clothes, I had breakfast bread I bought yesterday at the supermarket with the rest of the money Arka gave me.

When I got there, many employees came and cleaned like sweeping, mopping, wiping tables, and glass.

Mr. Farel had also come and waved his hand at me when he saw me coming. He invited me into his room. I gave him my cover letter and he read it.

“This is your uniform. Change your clothes before work,” said Mr. Farel while handing me a bag of uniform crackers for me to work.

“Because there are no dirty dishes, you can help other employees clean and prepare groceries in the kitchen,”tutur Pak Farel. I nodded and told him too.

After I changed my clothes in uniform, I helped prepare groceries in the kitchen. I work without a voice because I'm a new employee there and there's no one I know.

“Hai .. “ greet someone suddenly. I looked at him and smiled.

“You're the new kid?” ask the girl who greeted me.

“Iya, my name is Tia,” I replied.

“I Febri. Hopefully you feel at home working here,” reply with a smile I also return his smile.

During the day the cafe visitors are getting crowded. Dirty plates and glasses were piling up in front of me. I washed it patiently because this is the only job I can do right now.

“Tia .. “ call Mr. Farel who is suddenly beside me. I was surprised to be so focused on doing the dishes that I didn't know Mr. Farel was next to me.

Mr. Farel took my hand and led me into his room. There were already two portions of food on the table.
