The Melody of Farewell: The Last Song
CHAPTER 18 Surprise and watermelon

The hot afternoon sun shone on the window of Andra's apartment. In the silence of the room, the sound of water gurgling from the bathroom was clearly heard. Andra, after a busy day at the cafe, was enjoying a refreshing bath. The cold water flowing on his skin brought a sense of relief, removing the fatigue from his body.

When she was done, Andra came out of the bathroom with only a circular towel around her waist, planning to get dressed in her room. However, when she turned around, she was surprised to see Nadira standing in the kitchen, holding a watermelon hemisphere with a spoon in her hand.

Andra felt her blood flow faster, and she immediately covered her body with both hands, feeling embarrassed and surprised. "Nadira!" andra said, her voice surging with her heartbeat.

Nadira, who seemed not to be bothered at all with Andra's state, instead smiled and raised the watermelon hemisphere in her hand. "Sister, want a watermelon?" bargaining, his voice was filled with joy that made Andra even more embarrassed.

Without saying anything, Andra rushed to her room, leaving Nadira who was still smiling in the kitchen. He sat at the door of his room, trying to understand the strange feeling that had arisen within him. She felt embarrassed, but there was also a strange warm feeling in her chest.

After a few minutes, Andra finally dared to come out of her room, this time in full clothes. She found Nadira already sitting on the living room couch, watching television while enjoying a watermelon.

"Sister, let's sit here," Nadira asked, pointing at the spot next to her on the sofa. Andra sat down beside Nadira, feeling awkward but also happy. They watch television together, laugh at the funny parts and discuss about the plot of the story.

Andra stared fixedly at the watermelon Nadira was holding. Nadira noticed Andra's gaze and offered her a watermelon. Andra nodded and opened her mouth, ready to be fed. However, Nadira suddenly stopped and said, "Oh, wait a minute, sis. I'll get a new spoon. It's my old spoon."

Andra laughed lightly and shook her head. "It's okay, Nad," he said, "I don't have a problem with that." The two of them laughed, and the awkward atmosphere immediately vanished, replaced by warmth and familiarity.

One night, after a full day at the studio, Nadira sat on the sofa of her apartment, chatting with Moona through WeChat. Moona, Nadira's best friend, has just told a shocking news story.

"Nad, my mother was planning to set me up with her old friend" wrote Moona, "I don't know what to do."

Nadira was surprised to read the message. "Oh, wow, Moon," Nadira replied, "Are you okay with that?"

Moona responded, "I don't know, Nad. I was confused and a little scared. I've never met him before."

Moona wrote back, "Not yet. I was afraid to talk to him about this. I don't want to disappoint him."

Nadira understands Moona's feelings. "Moon, your feelings are important too" Nadira wrote, "Try talking to your mother. Maybe he'll understand."

Their conversation continued into the late night, with Nadira trying to support and advise Moona. Despite the difficult situation, Nadira knows that Moona is strong and will be able to get through this.

A few days after their conversation through WeChat, Moona attended a dinner held by her mother. The event was attended by several of her mother's old friends, including the man to be betrothed to Moona. Despite being nervous and anxious, Moona decides to attend the event, hoping to get to know the man and talk about his feelings with his mother.

When Moona arrives at the dinner, she is warmly welcomed by her mother and the other guests. She looked at the man she was about to be betrothed to, who seemed friendly and kind. They sit next to each other over dinner, talking about their lives and their interests.

As time went on, Moona felt a little more comfortable with the man. They have some common interests, and their conversations flow easily. Despite that, Moona still felt unsure about this matchmaking and wanted to talk to her mother.

After dinner, Moona gathers the courage to talk to her mother. "Mother," she said softly, "I want to talk about this matchmaking."

His mother looked surprised, but then nodded. "Well, Moona," he said, "Let's talk."

Moona expresses her feelings, explaining that she feels confused and scared about this matchmaking. Her mother listened attentively, seemingly understanding her daughter's concerns.

After listening to Moona, her mother said, "Moona, I understand how you feel. I just want the best for you. If you feel uncomfortable with this matchmaking, we can talk about it further and find another solution."

Moona was relieved to hear her mother's words. He thanked his mother and promised to think further about the situation. Although there is still a lot of uncertainty, Moona feels better because her mother supports and appreciates her feelings.
