The Melody of Farewell: The Last Song

The Melody of Farewell: The Last Song
CHAPTER 07 Resonance of the Past

Nadira and Andra have bad memories of their father. Their father, Baskoro, was a failed musician and always wandered. He left their family when Nadira and Andra were very young, and since then, they have rarely heard from him.

One day, Baskoro suddenly appears in their house. He looked older and more tired from their memories, but his gaze was still the same - cold and uncaring.

"I heard about your mother's accident," said Baskoro, his voice rude and unfriendly, "I think I should see it."

Nadira and Andra felt angry and confused. They did not understand why Baskoro had suddenly appeared after so many years of disappearing. However, they decide to let her meet their mother, hoping that it will probably provide some comfort for their mother.

However, Baskoro's visit did not go as expected. She spoke to their mother in a rude and insensitive manner, making her feel uncomfortable and sad. Nadira and Andra felt angry, but they felt powerless to do anything.

After Baskoro leaves, Nadira and Andra promise that they will not let him ruin their lives again. They decided to be stronger, for their mother and for themselves.

However, despite their efforts to forget Baskoro, memories of him and his treatment of them still haunt them. They struggle to cope with their pain and anger, but they find it hard to forget.

Fortunately, they have each other. They support each other through difficult times, and they find comfort in music and in each other.

One night, after Baskoro leaves, Nadira and Andra sit at the piano together. They play a song they created together, a song about pain, hope, and love.

As they play, they feel closer than ever. They feel as if music has helped them through difficult times, and they feel grateful for having each other.

Nadira and Andra were confused and worried about what they should do. They talked at length, arguing about what to do. They feel angry and hurt, but they also feel that they need to solve this problem, for themselves and for their mothers.

Finally, they decided to visit Baskoro. They walked through the hospital corridor with hearts pounding, unsure of what they would encounter. When they arrived at Baskoro's room, they found him lying weakly in bed, looking very different from the person they remembered. He looked old and fragile, and they felt little sympathy seeing him in such conditions.

Baskoro, looking at them, looked surprised. "Nadira.. Andra." she said in a weak voice, "You both came…"

Nadira and Andra did not answer. They sat by the bed, feeling awkward and uncomfortable. They don't know what to say or how to respond. They just sat there, staring at Baskoro with an expression that was hard to interpret.

After a while, Baskoro spoke again. "I'm sorry," he said, his voice barely audible, "I'm sorry for everything I've done. I know I don't deserve forgiveness, but I'm really sorry."

Nadira and Andra were silent. They don't know how to respond. They feel angry, confused, and a little relieved. They felt as if the burden they had been carrying all this time was slightly lifted.

They spent a few moments there, sitting in silence, pondering over Baskoro's words. They feel confused and unsure about what they should do next. However, they also feel that they have taken important steps to resolve their past problems.

Finally, they stood up and left, leaving Baskoro alone in the hospital room. They walked away with mixed feelings, but they also felt as if they had let go of the burden they had been carrying all along.
