The Pawned Wife
Chapter 7 > Similar?

Musical fanfare greeted Akandra and Affandra, as the two men set foot on the floor of the city's famous nightclub. The smell of alcohol mixed with nicotine smoke is enough to make his chest crowded. His eyes rolled all over the bar. The dance floor was full of humans with clothes lacking materials bending over his body.

"Aren't you sure? Not wanting to back up your intentions?" ask Affandra to her sister.

Akandra nodded, choosing to walk closer to the bar table ahead. He chose to sit at the stool bar, which happened to be empty. There was only one woman sitting at the end half drunk. Seen from the cocktail in the glass is almost toilet, and his body is a little shrewd.

Regardless of the woman's whereabouts, Akandra sat down and ordered a cocktail for the bartender. The bartender was kindly preparing to mix the drinks as nice and luxurious as possible for Akandra who was the owner of the Bar. Affandra who saw her brother acting strange can only be silent while sitting next to him.

Unlike his brother, Affandra only ordered espresso base on the barista who served a variety of coffee menus ranging from espresso base made using espresso machines and espresso maker manual. He deliberately did not order cocktails because if they were both drunk, it could be dangerous. At least one of them has to drive. Once the drink is ready, the two enjoy it with different expressions.

"Sir, are you okay?" ask Affandra by starting the conversation.

"Hm."

That's Akandra's answer. Affandra who heard the short answer felt sure that her brother was not doing well. He patted the softly on the shoulder of the man next to him.

"Say, did you remember Brother Alessa again?" guess Affandra with a serious look.

Akandra who wants to sip cocktails is not so. He put the drink back and looked to the side. The man who was agitated also began to exhale heavily.

"I don't mean to recall it but-"

"But what? Did someone remind you?" Affandra cuts off the sister's conversation.

Akandra slowly nodded steadily. "Yes, there was a woman who looked a lot like Alessa." Akandra's gaze began to glaze over.

"Who is that woman?" Affandra put on a curious face.

"Name Audrey,"

"Who is that woman?"

"What?" Instantly both eyes of Affandra rounded perfectly because a little surprised.

"But how is that possible? Why would a husband pawn his own wife and why would he pawn his precious wife?" There are a lot of questions in Affandra's mind.

"He wants to pay off his debt to me by mortgaging his wife."

"Why would you accept that pawn? Is it as similar as the woman's face until Brother wants to accept a pawnshop wife?" check Affandra with astonished face.

"Do you really think that I accept that woman just because she looks like Alessa?" instead of answering Akandra asked back.

"Wantas? What's your excuse, brother? Oh yeah, show me that woman's picture!"

"If you want to know, you just come to my house. Just so you know, the reason I accepted that woman was because I wanted to release her from her suffering. Know it? Audrey's husband likes KDRT, besides the money for him to gamble comes from his wife who slammed for money. I just wanted to help her a little bit, nothing else."

"You sure?"

"Hmm" Akandra replied as briefly as possible.

After that Akandra continued drinking cocktails accompanied by her sister. The noise, the dim lights make Akandra's head dizzy. Both of his eyes had been flushed until he was drunk and asleep at the bar table.
