The Second Lead Fate

The Second Lead Fate
One Hundred Twenty Six

As if dreaming in the morning, Adhi still held her phone for a while before being able to sit again in her chair. Ambar accepted his proposal. Nope. Ambar accepted to come to propose. It is shocking and almost unbelievable. But, surely the woman did not know that she was coming this Saturday. What if it turns out Ambar is disappointed and cancels everything? Does Adhi still have the face to keep going and urge the woman to marry him? Urge Ambar to marry her? Why did Adhi suddenly feel pleased with those words? He can't be happy just yet. Saturday is three days away and he has a lot to do.

Adhi returned to Singapore on schedule and worked as usual until Friday came so quickly.

"Are you going to work tomorrow, sir?" ask the hotel manager who has more than twenty years of experience.

"No"

"Are you going?"

"Yes. I'm going to Jakarta"

"Is there anything you need to do there?"

"Yes. I'll find a wife" he said, then go home soon to get ready. He didn't want to look exhausted when he met Ambar tomorrow morning. He knew for sure the hotel manager he had only known for about eight months would report everything to the previous hotel owner. But Adhi doesn't care. All he had in mind now was Ambar.

Saturday morning, Adhi was in front of a mirror and felt unsure of her appearance. He changed suits a few times and felt it was inappropriate to wear one. His face does not look like it used to. Alcohol is bad for your health and skin. But, he had already cleaned his beard and mustache twice this morning. She also changed her hairstyle five times.

"O Allah" he said, pressing his chest that was pounding so hard. She's nervous. Very nervous. Hopefully everything goes well and Ambar accepts his proposal.

With that belief, Adhi finally went to Ambar's house. Alone and carrying nothing.

Adhi arrived in front of a familiar alley and took his car in to the courtyard of Ambar's house. It's eight o'clock, he's not late. Still feeling nervous, Adhi gets out of the car and sees Ambar's slightly ornate house. There are two bouquets of flowers on the doorstep, as well as Ambar's father who looks neat with his typical Muslim suit.

"You came alone?" ask Ambar's father as soon as he sees it.

Was he wrong for coming alone? Isn't this just a proposing event? Does he need someone else to come? Adhi did not dare to come closer to Ambar's father and just stood up while looking right and left like a confused person.

"Assalamualaikum" he said first after being able to walk closer to Ambar's father.

"Wallaikum salam. You alone?"

"Do I need someone else when I propose?"

Ambar's father looked surprised by his question then nodded his head repeatedly.

"Please enter!"

Adhi finally entered Ambar's house. After two years, he finally entered the house of the woman he loved. There was a smell of Indonesian cuisine smelling in his nose. And in front of him neatly arranged some food or Indonesians call it cake. Flowers are also in four tablespoons of the room, making the atmosphere of Ambar's house look different from its shadow.

"I seemed to have made the mistake of coming here myself" Adhi told Ambar's father.

"No. I forgot about the cultural differences"

"Cultural differences?"

"I'll call Ambar. You just wait here!"

"Good"

Before long, there was the sound of footsteps from the stairs that were visible from the room where Adhi was sitting. He stood up as he saw a woman in a blue dress waving in the wind and also a matching colored head covering walking down the stairs. Ambar's face looked different from when he was observing that night. Real pretty. So pretty. Is that woman Ambar? ask in the heart. And when the woman stopped in the middle of the stairs because she saw him. Adhi's question was answered. Now Ambar's face changed as a wonder. The woman must have been surprised to see him.

"Why?" ask Ambar without taking his eyes off Adhi.

Had Adhi been able to answer, she would have said that this was all the path she wanted to take. But Adhi did not have time to answer, Ambar came down like running and approached towards Adhi. So close that Adhi could smell the scent she had longed for.

"Why are you here?" ask Ambar again.

.

.

.

"Are you ready, son?" asked her mother who had come to Ambar's room nearly ten times this morning.

"Not yet"

Ambar put on his hijab and began to observe his appearance in front of the mirror. Not too bad for a show.

"Duhh beautiful mother's son" said the mother who was suddenly present behind him. That happy face again made a huge pressure for Ambar. This is what both of his parents wanted. Ambar is finally getting married. Marrying someone she doesn't even know. Is she gonna be okay? Don't know. The important thing is that he doesn't make his father and mother sad anymore.

"Can Ambar go down now? I think there was a car sound"

"Yes. But ... Are you really ready?'

Why is his mother asking about this again? When it's like this?

"Udah Ma'am"

"Yes already. Come on down"

His mother clasped Ambar's hand so tightly as she exited the room and prepared to descend on the stairs. Surely make sure he doesn't run away and disavow his own words. Slowly descending and Ambar began to see the feet of the man who came to propose to him. Just one foot away, it meant that there was only one person coming. Wow, it is also strange for Indonesians to come to propose themselves. Does that man have no family?

And after seeing who exactly came to defile, Ambar stopped his steps.

"What's this?" he then looked at his father and mother.

"Yes Nak. That guy came to propose"

Ambar can't believe this is happening? how could this possibly happen? Wait ... didn't his father say that the man would propose to him was a Muslim? That guy's not muslim. Or did the guy change his faith? Since when? No. .. no. That's not what he should have asked. Why did that guy come here and propose to her? Is this a joke? Whatisthis? Why like this?

"Do you know who that is?" ask Ambar again to his mother.

"Yes. Mom and dad knew"

"Keep why?"

"Let's go down first. We're talking down below"

"So. This is impossible"

Really am. Ambar never thought this would happen. He did see the figure of that guy a few days ago but never thought something like this would happen? applying? Is that guy crazy? What's he thinking?

Ambar could not bear the burden he had on his mind and immediately stepped down from the stairs. So fast he walked and was already in front of the guy. Staring and making sure that the man in front of him is right Adhitama Elvan Syahreza. Ex-husband of Felisya. The man who wasted his friend until he died. The man who made her feel guilty until she could not continue living well.

"Why?" the question is not answered.

The guy could only look back at him. Ambar's heart was beating so fast and he wanted to run away from a situation like this. But the happy faces of his father and mother had managed to hold him back.

"Why are you here?" ask him again on the man he hated and loved simultaneously.

"I came to propose to you" replied the man so steadily in front of him. Ambar took one step back and could not believe hearing that voice again. No. .. he didn't believe the guy would say that calmly.

"No. No. gabe. This is not happening. No. gabe. Sir, Mom, this isn't happening, is it?" ask him to the father who showed a resigned face.

"I'm Adhitama Elvan Syahreza came today to ask you Ambar Ramadhani"

Ambar turned his head and saw the man pull something out of his suit pocket. A box in which there is a ring with a circular sparkling decoration.

"Do you want to marry me?"

Maddened. Is it true that he heard a proposal now? From that guy? Ambar felt like pulling out his own ears and undoing everything he heard.

"Am I crazy to accept your proposal?" the answer made the atmosphere even more tense. Now his father and mother have disappointed and sad faces. He didn't mean to, but this is outrageous. No. gabe. There was no way he would accept that guy's proposal. Not likely.
