Be Honest About the Past

After his cry was low, Edmond let go of his embrace. He looked at Mahira. The woman who became his first love. A woman who can't make it move on after years of separation. Edmond did get close to some girls before he finally bonded with Monalisa. All the girls that Edmond approached all bore a resemblance to Mahira. Whether his eyes, his hair, his skin, anyway Edmond will be interested in all the girls who have similarities with Mahira.

"Ma..mafia?"'Mahira's heart was beating strongly. He pulled out his hand which was in Edmond's grasp. For a moment he remembered what Teddy had said to him.

Edmond's heart felt a pain as Mahira slowly withdrew her hand. But he tried hard to tell everything.

Slowly, Edmond told me everything. How he met Monalisa until they finally established a relationship. Edmond also told about his involvement with the mafia world.

"I initially refused to do this job. Marky, Monalisa's brother keeps forcing me. From the start of resisting, I ended up going deeper and deeper. I never killed anyone directly. Edmond took a deep breath, wiped away the sweat on his face, then continued his story.

Mahira felt her chest tight to hear Edmond's story. But he tried to strengthen his heart to listen fully.

"As I told you, I was with Ica because she had frequent panic attacks. She also threatened me with her husband's murder. He even threatened me to tell mommy Rachel everything. I don't want my family to be the victim of my past stupidity. That's why I've been trying to fulfill Ica's wish to meet. Like when you followed Lerry's car I was carrying. We went to that house because Ica threatened to give you pictures of my mafia activities. I wanted to persuade him but one of my men called and said I was being followed by you. Mahira closed her eyes. His suspicions about that day turned out to be true. Edmond already knew that Mahira was following him so he quickly returned and followed Mahira to the minimarket.

"Ra, I'm gonna try to figure out how to get out of Ica. I'm afraid Marky's gonna be so angry that it ends up hurting you, Vienna and my family."

Mahira slowly looked at Edmond. Staring at the man she initially thought to be a true hero who saved her pride as a woman abandoned by her lover. But now, indirectly, Edmond has encouraged him to enter the dark circle of his relationship with Monalisa.

"B......!" Edmond touched Mahira's hand. That soft hand. The hand that turned out to be covered in blood because he was a mafia.

"I.....!" Mahira got off the bed. He took a deep breath several times. "I need some fresh air" he said again and left the room immediately.

Edmond's chest was like being hit by a huge rock. Mahira looks scared of him. Even though his wife did not say it, but the radiance of the woman's eyes could not lie. This is what Edmond feared. Mahira chose to go to the right side terrace of the house. There he sat crying. Trying to make her crying sound inaudible.

Eduardo, who was standing by the window of Edewina's room, saw a weeping Mahira there. Indeed Edmond had told him about the shooting in the coffee shop parking lot. Mahira raised her head. He looked at Eduardo. Quickly, he wiped away his tears. "Why haven't you slept?"

"I was asleep. I woke up because my boyfriend called. Sorry if I disturbed you. I can't see a woman crying."

Mahira tried to smile. He was used to hiding his heart. Like when the oma was still there. Mahira always smiles so that his mother does not know that he is being hurt by his aunt and cousin.

Eduardo nodded. "My brother is full of mystery. But basically it's good. It's just in the story of the bad past. It's just that, regarding his feelings for you, I'm pretty sure that it's not a lie. Because I know how he first fell in love with you. Every day he asks me to tell him about you. I also know he was heartbroken when you turned him down four times. And when I heard that you were finally married, I even wanted to cry because I was happy because my sister was married to her true love."

Mahira looked at Eduardo. Does the man know about the status of their son Edewina?

"Edmond sounded very happy when he said you were pregnant. And when he sent a video of Vienna being born, I saw my brother was so happy. He cried when he said he was already a father."

Mahira nodded. "I knew. Vienna is everything to me, Ed. But, if Edmond had been honest before our wedding, it wouldn't have hurt this story."

"If Edmond is honest before your wedding, then I'll make sure that you refuse him and Vienna will never be present in your lives." Eduardo standing. "I really appreciate your decision, Ra. I understand with all your heart. I won't force you to stay with my brother or tell you to go away from him. All decisions are in your hands. I slept first, right? my plane leaves at 8 am."

Mahira nodded. He was happy because Eduardo became a good brother-in-law and never pressured him. And now, what should Mahira do? How could he be with Edmond when he knew that danger could threaten him and Edewina. If only in the past, Mahira did not follow the advice of the Princess to ask for Edmond's help, surely he is now happy with Edewina. Maybe her aunt's family will throw it away but Mahira is convinced that she will be fine if Vienna is with her. After all, if it was true that Teddy came back then, wouldn't they end up happy?

Regretting the past is useless. Because regret will never come to the front. Regrets always come in the back. When Mahira's heart was for Edmond, he accepted the reality that hurt his heart. Mahira actually does not want to live with a lot of treasure. He just wants to get married and have a happy little family. For Edmond's sake, Mahira had left the job that he had been craving since childhood. Become a bank employee. Now, can he go back to work? Mahira wanted to get away from Edmond, but what about Edewina? What about Rachel's mommy who loves her so much?

"I'm gonna take a little nap. Don't bother me. Because I had to get up at 6am and prepare breakfast for Eduardo before he returned to Madrid" Mahira said before laying on the couch.

Edmond took a deep breath. He tried to hold the tightness in his heart. But he did not want to disturb Mahira at this time. Edmond tries to be patient in order to regain Mahira's love.
