Ch 30 - Masked Man
“Haaaahhh.” Noguchi's voice is hysterical.
Noguchi's shout made Firon aghast and immediately shot towards Noguchi.
‘What's up?’ Firon asked as he arrived before Noguchi.
Instead of answering Firon's question, Noguchi pointed his index finger forward. His hand almost touched Firon's ear standing right in front of him.
Seeing Noguchi's behavior, Firon then turned to the back and found a vast expanse of desert. He then tried to use the power of his eyes to see the extent of the edge across the desert.
After failing to find what he was looking for, Firon then jumped onto a fairly tall tree behind him. After he reached the top of the tree, he then squinted his eyes and looked towards the desert using the power of his eyes.
Firon frowned. Again he did not find what he was looking for. He then jumped from a tree and approached Noguchi who was sitting dumbly staring at the desert.
Noguchi's spirit became faint. He never thought that he had to travel in the desert where the end was.
Firon then took out a package from under his clothes. This time he only took one scroll from inside the package.
‘Should the beach not be too far away, but why can't I see the end of this desert?’ Firon frowned. The map he held showed that the desert in front of him was not too broad.
“What's up?”Ask Noguchi
‘Try you noticed this map?’ Firon tightened the tip of his index finger to a certain point inside the map.
“If viewed from the map, the desert is not so wide and I am sure, we can reach it in just a few hours, said Noguchi happily.
‘That's exactly the case, the strength of my eyes should be able to reach him. But I don't see the edge of this desert at all!’ Firon revealing.
“What do you mean?” Tanya Noguchi was curious.
‘There is a strange with this desert!’ Firon replied while rolling back his map. He put the map back in the package and put it under his shirt.
“Brother Firon, how about we rest first in this place? Soon the night will come, tomorrow morning we continue the journey! How?” Noguchi said. There was doubt on his face.
‘Alright’ Reply Firon briefly.
Orange rays begin to boil in the western horizon. The sun was hiding half of his face behind a pile of desert sand. At least that was what appeared before Firon's eyes. He just sits down daydreaming. I don't know what he's thinking. Anxiety was clearly painted on his face.
Noguchi took a deep breath looking at his best friend who was just sitting glued to look at the dim orange sky.
“What are you thinking? At least, help me gather the wooden twigs for the fireplace! Night is almost here!” Noguchi.
Firon jerks. He woke up from his daydream. He then moved from his seat in a lethargic motion. He picked up the wood he found. Face flat. Even as Noguchi smiled at him, he did not react at all.
Suddenly, Noguchi's stomach rang. A sign that he should immediately fill his empty stomach. He smiled awkwardly.
“Waduh, you can't compromise huh?” Noguchi. He stroked his stomach which had just made a sound.
Firon who had put on a lethargic face, immediately reacted to hear the sound of Noguchi's stomach. He smiled and approached Noguchi.
Hearing Firon about to look for food, Noguchi only smiled as he raised his hand while pointing his thumb at Firon in a sign of agreement.
Firon then stepped leaving Noguchi leaning against the tree trunk.
‘Any, there is not a single animal in this place. Where are they?’ Firon who should have been able to easily find an animal to hunt using his hearing, discovered the fact that there was not a single living creature in that place other than the two of them. Even insects do not exist at all.
‘How is this?’ Mumbled.
As he thought hard to find out what the mystery behind the oddity was, the sound of tree branches disturbed his hearing. Firon then searched for the source of the sound.
Dozens of human figures darted from one branch to another. They're so fast. Although it was quite difficult, Firon could finally see that dozens of figures were wearing masks.
‘Wire, they headed towards the Nogu’ brother Firon then rushed after the masked humans.
Because the distance between the masked humans and Noguchi was so close, Firon did not have time to get ahead of them near Noguchi.
Noguchi, who was trying to start a fire, was aghast not playing. Dozens of masked human figures suddenly surrounded him.
“What do you want?” Noguchi. He tried to hide his fear.
“Big are you young man too! Though soon your history will be finished” Sangar voice from behind the mask sounded bully Noguchi.
The figure who had a mask somewhat different from the others slowly approached Noguchi who was already unable to hide his fear.
When the masked human figure stayed a few steps away from Noguchi. He suddenly jumped back dozens of steps. . As he was about to capture Noguchi, he suddenly felt a force pressing down on his entire joint.
“Who is that? Show your face!” The masked man shouted loudly
Firon suddenly emerged from the top of the tree that Noguchi was leaning on earlier. He stood his back to Noguchi.
‘Stay behind me!’ Firon cried to Noguchi.
“Hemm turned out to be a young boy huh?” The masked man was dismissive.
“Elder, watch the young man's eyes!” The whisper of another masked man.
The masked man called the elder frowned and began to take a wary stance.
‘Could it be? Eagle Eye Skill?’ A terrified expression began to appear on the face of the masked human elder.
The atmosphere became silent for a moment. All dissolved in his mind.
“Young people, please forgive us if it is sassy! My name is Yongdai. I am the elder of the Mountain Demon Group!” Reveal the masked Man while saluting and showing a face of regret.
The mood was silent again. Firon did not react at all.so did the dozens of masked humans just fixated on their respective places.
Only Noguchi seemed surprised to learn that the masked man before him was the Mountain Devil Group. He was also astonished to see the change in attitude of Yongdai the Mountain Demon Group elder who suddenly became gentle.
