THE STAIN OF THE PAST

THE STAIN OF THE PAST
Chapter 59. Hospital

Arriving at the hospital, doctors and nurses rushed Mami Athalla to the IGD room. Ambulance officers handed over items they found at the scene that may have belonged to the victim for identification.

Doctors began to take action to close the wound on the victim's head with help from several nurses. Meanwhile, nurses who received the victim's belongings began to identify and contact the victim's family.

“Good afternoon, with the family of Ms. Kusuma Arupama. We from Jakarta Hospital want to convey that Ms. Kusuma Arupama had an accident and is now undergoing treatment.” The hospital nurse explained as much detail as possible about the victim.

While Athalla who is currently still in the office is very surprised to hear the news that his mother had an accident. He rushed out of the office, drove his car as fast as possible to get to the hospital quickly.

Arriving at the hospital, Athalla went to the receptionist to ask where her mother was. The receptionist explained that Mami Athalla had just entered the operating room to undergo emergency surgery to seal the wound on her head. Athalla sat down to hear the nurse's explanation. Must be the state of her mother is very severe to have to undergo surgery.

Athalla walked lethargicly to the front of the operating room. The lights on the door of the room were still on, indicating that the operation was still going on.

There was a hint of regret in Athalla's heart upon seeing her Mammary state now. Regret as she raised her voice in front of the woman who had given birth to her. If it could be repeated, Athalla would not raise his voice and give little understanding to his mother.

However, it has all happened and is impossible to repeat. In fact, the woman who gave birth to him is now lying helpless inside there trying to defend her life with fragile bones.

A single tear fell from Athalla's eyes imagining that something terrible had happened to her mother. He will not stop blaming himself. Athalla is guilty of everything and that is the truth. Athalla constantly blames himself.

The nurse kept coming in and out of the operating room carrying something Athalla didn't know. Eager for Athalla to ask how her Mammary was doing, Athalla continued to refrain from interfering with their duties. So that they can try their best to save their mother.

Athalla repeatedly prayed that her mother might be saved. For, there is nothing else Athalla can do but beg the Creator to pity his being.

Time feels so long and scary. Every second is like death to Athalla. Athalla asked God to give her time to apologize to her mother.

Athalla looked like someone who had no life anymore. His heart continued to pray, but his body fell into lethargy. Unable to withstand the weight of his own body.

He could only sit and wait whether Mami would stay with him or leave. Somehow the scenario that God had set this time.

Athalla's face continued to be bowed by sharpening his sense of hearing. Hope that door will move and the doctor from inside there will come out and say that Mami is fine. Get rid of all the nightmares that were in Athalla's head. However, the door did not move as Athalla wanted.

Even the ticking of the wall clock could be heard very clearly due to the tension that Athalla created for himself. Very quiet there. Far from the commotion that is usually made in the ER room.

Athalla felt a movement from the door of the operating room. He hurried to his feet, demanding an explanation from the doctor.

“Mother Kusuma Arupama had a very hard impact on her back head that caused her severe bleeding. We have closed the wound on his head. However, Ms. Karina lost a lot of blood before being brought here and also during the operation process.” The doctor paused for a moment. However, Athalla already knew how it went.

“Ab bloodstock corresponding to Mother Karina's blood in PMI is up. Mother Karina needs blood before twenty-four hours.” The doctor continued his explanation exactly as what Athalla had in mind.

It was like a hammer hitting his head hard. It is very difficult to find the same blood type as Mami especially in such a short time. If her blood type and Mami were the same, Athalla would have donated her blood.

“How much, Doc?” ask Athalla considering having to figure out how much for Mami. After all, Athalla had to get that blood.

“Hospital has stock of one blood bag whereas Ms. Kusuma needs two blood bags,” explained the Doctor. Athalla nodded in understanding then contacted everyone he knew to seek help.

She shared on her social media accounts that she needed AB blood for her Mommy. Not only that, he also went to his friends just to ask about their blood type.

Athalla is like a lost mind looking for a donor. AB blood is not the blood that many people have. It's hard to find even a bag of blood.

Looking here and there, but like there's no hope for it. He did not find anyone who had the same blood type as Mami. No one even contacted him on social media.

However, that did not make Athalla desperate. He continued to search even when that hope was completely invisible. If there is no miracle, he will create it. Even when there is no hope, Athalla will still do it.

Athalla immediately returned to the hospital to see a doctor. It seems like he has another solution to this problem.

“Doctor, my blood type O. I know O can be donated to all blood types,”, Athalla said, hoping doctors agree with his advice.

“No, Sir. It's not as easy as Mr. Athalla proposed. Illegal transfusion of O blood to patients with blood types other than O. Unless in a state of disaster or war, we are allowed to do so. It must even be at the decision of the government. We have no power for that.” The doctor explained the situation carefully to Athalla hoping that the man before her could understand her situation.

“Then we have to how doctor! Just being quiet without doing anything will only put Mami's life in danger!” Athalla's voice was rising. The doctor could not answer that. Breaking the law doesn't just make his license revoked. But that would put him in jail.

The ringtones of Athalla's cell phone then diverted them. Athalla immediately raised the call in the hope that it was one of the people who would generously donate his blood.

“Doctor, I get a donor!” athalla said after turning off his call.
