One habit in feeling paranoid.
Garin sighed, finally opening the file back, focused on the pages within.
There's one detail about the accident that doesn't make sense. Over the years, Garin has marked with question marks a few points around him.
He found out when he was taken to the scene of the accident.
Strangely enough, whoever caused the accident had covered Maudy's body with banana leaves and laid a pedestal on her head. This fact never appeared in the newspapers.
For a moment, there was hope that the banana leaf would give clues about the identity of the perpetrator. However, it was just an ordinary banana leaf growing wild in the garden belonging to the neglected residents and had been taken very carefully. There was no trace of fingerprints or any sort of clue left behind by the perpetrator.
There's no way to track it.
But... why?
This part keeps bothering Garin.
Why cover the body, then escape? It doesn't make sense. When he brought the matter to Sutrisno, Sutrisno said something that haunted him: "Like the perpetrator is trying to apologize."
Or distract us?
Some sociopaths kill for pleasure. He had heard of people like that.
Garin doesn't know what to believe.
However, he will find the perpetrator, no matter how unlikely, because he will not give up.
Then, only then, could he imagine himself continuing the search.
🍂•••••••
On Friday night, three days after meeting Garin Antonio, Saraswati felt alone in her living room. He gulped down the second wind, feeling very bad. Although he knew that resisting the wind would not help, he planned to drink the third sachet after it ran out. Even though he didn't feel the cold, the day felt so bad.
Now, he just wants to escape. But it didn't start badly. He felt pretty good in the morning and during breakfast. However, throughout the day, everything slumped quickly.
Some time earlier, the water heater in her apartment was damaged, forcing her to take a cold shower before going to school. At the school, three of his four students in front of the class were having a cold and cough, pointing it at him.
The rest also seemed to follow their example, and the day did not go as he wished. After school, he tried to catch up on some work, but when he was ready to go home, his car tires leaked. He had to wait almost an hour before road assistance arrived, and when he returned, the streets had been closed for the Independence Celebration Festival, forcing him to park three blocks away.
And at the height of it all, ten minutes after she arrived home, an acquaintance of Marlina's cece, told her that her ex-husband would remarry in December. It was the moment when he opened the first sachet of the smart man's watch.
Now, feeling the effects of the clever herbs, his throat began to feel hot and his stomach was somewhat turbulent, a strong urge to wind from above and below.
Actually she was not close to the Marlina cece who called her, because initially they only connected through her ex-husband's family, she felt suspicious. Although the news was conveyed with sympathy, she could not help but question whether the woman would report Saras' response to her ex-husband after the phone was closed. Luckily he was able to maintain his calm attitude during the phone call earlier.
The three sachets repelled the wind then, it felt even more difficult. She wants to avoid news about her ex-husband. They're already legally and emotionally divorced, and unlike other divorced couples, they haven't spoken since their last meeting in the attorney's office nearly a year ago.
Back then, he felt relieved and just signed the documents without much talk. Her pain and anger had turned into apathy, making her feel that she had never really known her ex-husband. After that, they did not communicate at all. He lost touch with his family and friends, and they never got married. At least that's what he told himself.
And now her ex-husband is getting married again. Although he should not be disturbed, but the reality is other. He was troubled by the upcoming marriage.
Nonetheless, she knew that if anything, she was more upset at the fact that it bothered her than at the wedding itself. She already knew that her ex-husband was going to remarry, she had already told him.
This was the first time he truly hated someone so deeply. The resentment arises because there was an emotional connection in the past. She wouldn't hate her ex-husband that much if she never loved him.
At first, he might wish for their relationship to be eternal. They have promised to love each other forever, following the example of her family who have had a long marriage. Despite the problems, she believes that they will be like her family.
Despite the weight, Saras chooses the views of his family and leaves behind the promise that has been given to him. However, he felt unappreciated.
But now, he didn't have to be bothered if he had forgotten everything. Saras drank his last breeze and stood up from the sofa. He did not want to believe or acknowledge this feeling. He's forgotten everything.
If her ex-husband comes back and apologizes, she won't forgive him. Nothing can be done to restore the love that has been lost. He can marry anyone he likes, but that will have no impact on Saras.
In the kitchen, he poured sugar into the tea. While trying to slowly stir her tea, she realizes that her ex-husband is getting married again.
Despite trying to hold back the tears, Saras could not.
She did not want to cry anymore, but her old hope was shattered. When placing the glass, the glass falls off and breaks. When he grabbed the broken glass, his hand was injured and started bleeding.
One more problem on this already bad day.
He took a deep breath and closed his eyes, pressing his hands into his eyes to prevent tears from coming out.
the next day...
"You're all right, right?" ask mother.
Within the crowd, the voice sounded faint. For the third time, "I'm fine, Mom. Really."
His mother tidied Saras' hair from his face. "But you look pale, like someone who's about to get sick."
"I'm just tired, that's all. I stayed up all night for work."
Despite not liking to lie to his mother, Saras did not want to tell about the wind rejection last night. His mother did not understand why people took stall medicine, and if Saras told him about it, his mother would worry and ask a lot. For his mother, the drug must be with a trusted doctor's prescription and from the results of checking by experts.
