The Traces of Destiny

The Traces of Destiny
Day Story

🌜Happiness is disjointed like a full moon.

Almost every day we forget to look for the moon in the sky,

The other day we looked for it and found half of it,

Many times we have not found it, either,

Until one day, by accident, we watch the sky, and there is!

Round and full of mystery...🎑

...••••••••••°°°••••••••••...

So, hows? Did you like it so far?" ask Nursy.

It was Monday, Nursy and Saras were sitting at a picnic table outside, the same table that Garin and Saras had visited the previous month.

Nursy bought lunch in the form of rice and soto balung from the Cak Andre restaurant for the two of them, which according to Nursy is the most delicious soto balung se Gajakarta or maybe the world.

"It will give us a chance to rest and have a casual chat, get to know each other further" he said as he unfolded his soto packaging and rice wrapping paper.

While this isn't the first time they've had the opportunity to "chat", as Nursy says, their conversations are usually relatively short and impersonal: where supplies are stored, they're not private, with whom she needs to talk to to to get some stuff, stuff like that.

Of course, Nursy is also the one who first questioned Saras about Raka and Garin, and because she knows Nursy is close to them, she is very close to him, he also understands that this lunch was Nursy's attempt to figure out what was going on.

"You mean work at school? Hm... No different than the class I took in Cijengkol, but I like it."

"You work downtown, right?"

"Yes, I worked in downtown Cijengkol for four years."

"Where is it there?"

Saras opened his rice pack. "That's as good as you might imagine. Children are children, they don't care where they come from, especially when they're young. The environment may be difficult and hectic for adults, but you will get used to it and learn to be careful. I never got in trouble at all. And the people I work with are great."

“How did you decide to work as a teacher there? Is your ex-husband also a teacher?”

"Ngga" he answered briefly.

Nursy looked at the pain in Saras' eyes for a moment, but as soon as he realized it, the pain disappeared.

Saras opened his pocari can. "He's an investment banker. Or. I don't know what he's been doing lately. Our divorce isn't entirely good, if you understand what I mean."

"I'm sorry to hear it" Nursy said, "and I'm even more sorry for bringing it up, I'm sorry."

“Ngga. You also do not know.” He paused before forming a lazy smile.

"Or are you trying to figure it out or have you been looking for it before?" Saras asked.

Nursy's eyes widened. "No, I don't know."

Saras looked at him expectantly.

"Truly," Nursy said again.

"If it is also nothing."

Nursy shifted a little in her chair. "Well, maybe I did hear a few things," she said shyly, and Saras laughed.

"I guessed so. The first thing I was told when I moved here was that you knew everything that was going on around here. You are the mother of the world in the news."

"I don't know everything" Nursy said, pretending to be angry.

"But even though I may have heard of you, I will not reveal everything I know. If someone told me to keep something for myself, I would." He tapped his ears with his finger and lowered his voice.

"Are you saying this so I can trust you?"

"Of course," he said. He looked around, then leaned across the table. "Now you can tell me anything about yourself, guaranteed safe."

Saras grinned and Nursy waved his hand as he continued. "I'm kidding, of course. And in the future, because we're working together, remember that my feelings won't hurt if you tell me that I've gone too far. Sometimes I ask questions without really thinking, but I don't do it to hurt others. I really never meant anything bad to anyone."

"Fair enough," said Saras satisfied.

Nursy takes the jar on his soto and starts sucking it strong. "And since you're new to this city and we don't know each other very well, I won't ask you anything that might seem too personal."

"I appreciate that."

"After all, it's none of my business."

Saras.

The two of them then began to take the lunch meal seriously.

"Wow!" Saras searched his luster.

"I'm right, right?

"Hmm. yes, soto balung cak Andre is indeed steady," thumbs up from Saras.

"I've tried to make it myself, but the flavor is much different" Nursy said.

"Yes, there are many such dishes. Feels really good when bought but when cooked alone it's messy."

"But, my friend said he once ate a meatball that was famously delicious in this suburb. Her customers were so crowded, that she had to queue for almost 30 minutes for a bowl of meatballs."

"Definitely a very tasty and famous meatball," Saras replied as he sipped the jar in his hand.

"Yes... My friend said, he didn't deliberately look into the saucepan of meatballs and found a piece in there!" Nursy's face became dramatic.

"Well! cielanah in whose possession!?"

"I heard it was the underwear of the jinn that made the meatballs sell. He said the genie in the meatball sauce will drool as a meatball sauce flavoring. That's why it's so selling." Nursy said with complete confidence.

"Ih, that's disgusting, '" Saras shuddered.

"Yes, my friend is an indogo, which is why he can see various irregularities that are not seen by us as laymen."

"What is it like?"

"For example, when we look at a banana garden we will only see it as an ordinary banana garden, but my friend can see and perceive that the garden is the home of the dedemites, like a large area with iron bars" Nursy said.

"Oh my God, it's too bad we're talking about this in a hole like this."

"Why?" Nursy's amazed.

"Yes, if you tell this story more tonight then the atmosphere will be more supportive."

"Aren't you scared?"

"Fear of ghost stories?"

"Yes,"

"Maybe a little scared, but it's always interesting."

The two women's talks continue on other random things. Until their lunch was gone.
