We are Not Honey

We are Not Honey
Chapters 15. Strengthen Hearts

Zahra stepped inside the hospital with her heart beating. The gaze was less than that of his co-workers, making his heart a little uncomfortable to be there. He should have listened to his father-in-law before the wedding not to come to this hospital again.

"Are you great, huh? What's the pellet?" So painful a row of questions made Zahra stop her footsteps.

The most reliable gossip spreader in the hospital, was in front of him. Not far from where he was standing, saw Doctor Meisya who was also looking at him unfriendly.

"However, everywhere the usurper is always no better than the original owner." The words of the woman who was wearing the same uniform as herself, made Zahra's heart even more sick. However, he resumed his steps without refuting the words, and only tried to strengthen his heart.

There is no need to seek justification for what has happened. Because most people will only judge according to what they see, and will not care what actually happens.

"Your long headscarf is off, it doesn't fit." Said another nurse.

Zahra flipped her body, staring at the heartless woman who judged herself without knowing the truth.

Even more painful, he knew that Meisya's doctor knew of the complicated relationship they were in, and yet, the beautiful doctor did not care at all about the other employees' insults towards him, even looking so enjoyable.

"My attitude and hijab have nothing to do with it at all. I wear hijab only because Allah obliges Muslim women to wear it. And if my attitude today is wrong, then it's purely my fault." Answer Zahra. He turned his body back, intending to leave the hospital.

However, as he made it through the room where Doctor Meisya was, someone clasped his hands tightly making his footsteps stop.

"Bag.." He sagged with tears dripping down his cheeks.

Riyan looked at Zahra guiltily. All these mistakes were on him, however, now Zahra is the target of all employees in this hospital.

"Do you guys not have a job? Have enough time to take care of other people's business?

Do I need to send you back to each other's homes?" Said Riyan annoyed while clasping Zahra's hand tightly.

At the end of the room, Meisya immediately turned around and left the room. So clearly seen in his eyes was anger, yet, he could do nothing.

"I'll drive you home." Pinta Riyan's.

Zahra answered nothing. To be honest, he felt guilty for what had happened. Especially when considering Meisya is also the wife of a man who now holds her hand tightly.

"True Dad, Ra. How nice of you not to work anymore, and accompany Mom at home." Said Riyan as he stepped out of the hospital building towards the parking lot. Zahra's fingers were still within his grasp.

"Mas, I'm sorry. I'm really sorry. We should've talked all this over to Mom and Dad, and Mas could go back with Doctor Meisya." Zahra said. Her tears kept drenching her cheeks. I don't know what he's crying about today. The humiliation of her co-workers, or the guilt of Meisya, or the crying out of fear of losing Riyan.

"Give me a minute. What will it be like if we part with the new age of marriage a week. Mom and Dad will be very disappointed in me, Ra." Pinta pleaded.

Zahra wiped her tears, then tried to smile back as usual. He knew, the burden that was on Riyan, far more than him.

"If you have a job, I'll take a taxi." His word. However, Riyan immediately shook his head then closed the door of the car then stepped towards the other car door and went inside.

"I can do it myself, Mom." Zahra was surprised when Riyan's body was so close to her. The man was carefully fitting the seat belt on his body.

"I'm sorry for bringing you into this situation." Riyan rubbed Zahra's head covered in hijab. "The waiter will beat me because it made you cry today." Reciprocity.

Zahra remained silent. Enjoying the pounding of her heart that was mad because of Riyan's attitude today. If Riyan was like this, how could he erase the taste that had been neatly arranged in his heart? There is, the sense that it will be more neat.

"Rba..." Call Riyan.

Zahra turned her head, looking at the face beside Riyan while waiting for what this man beside her wanted to talk about. Because Riyan never spoke, he turned his gaze back to the street through the car window.

"Rayan said, you are a good girl. I shouldn't have done this to you and Meisya." Said Riyan again.

This time Zahra no longer looked at her husband. He just continued to look at the buildings that seemed to move when passed by the car that was carrying him.

"Do you think it's too greedy for his name, if I don't want to let go of you too?" Ask Riyan. This time, the question managed to make Zahra turn her head.

"Do whatever you think is good. And I will do what I think is good. If later, what I think is good is wrong, then let me be responsible in front of Him later." Answer Zahra. Since that first night of pain, she has decided she will still be willing to be the wife of a Riyan even though her status is only a second wife who is not loved. The most important thing was, Riyan still treated herself so well.

"Can I ask you to wait?" Ask Riyan.

"As long as you haven't asked me to leave, as long as I'm still here. I'll stay in that house, with Mom and Dad." Reply Zahra sure.

Riyan smiled, then gently rubbed Zahra's head.

A few days after the wedding, I thought a lot. Is it not forbidden in Islam? Zahra accepted, meaning that her job only needed to convince Meisya then tell the truth to both her parents, and to Meisya's parents.

Cars continue to drive on the streets of Jakarta to the homes of his parents. His heart was a little relieved, because Zahra was not too concerned about the incident at the hospital earlier. That means his job only needs to make Meisya not to follow the judgment of Zahra. Because after all, all this was their agreement before the wedding took place.
