We are Not Honey

We are Not Honey
Chapter 22. The 48 Hours With You

After a night of not being able to sleep, now Zahra is preparing to perform obligations to the creator. Moving carefully from the bed he had been in one month, so as not to disturb the man who was still sleeping next to him.

"We pray together?"

The man who he thought was sleeping, now sat on the big bed.

"Can you? For the last time." Said Riyan again.

"We still have two days, Mom. And for these two days, I really still want to be your wife. In imami pray by you and prepare all your needs." Answer Zahra. For some reason, he repeatedly reassured his heart at this choice, yet, still, when hearing the last word of the time was so disturbing.

"Yes, tomorrow I will still be your priest." Riyan smiled. A faintly visible smile within the dimly lit room.

Seeing the smile on Riyan's face, Zahra smiled as well. He then moved first from the bed. Turn on the main light in the room, then step towards the bathroom.

On the bed, Riyan continued to follow his wife's body until it disappeared behind the bathroom door.

After fulfilling the obligation to the owner of life, Riyan grasped Zahra's hand, then took the girl who was still his wife down one by one stairs to the family room.

Zahra did not reject any small attention that Riyan had directed at her. For the last time, it was probably this sentence that prompted Zahra to let Riyan's hand hold her hand.

Upon arriving at the living room, Eliana looked at her son and daughter-in-law. The sadness on his face was still evident, even though Zahra was trying to look fine.

"We have breakfast first." Take Kenan.

Eliana got up from the sofa, then stepped into the kitchen. Swiping his son-in-law's head for a while, but ignoring his son just like that.

"Mom loves you, Mom. Take it easy, there is nothing in the world of parents who will hate their son." Zahra said encouragingly.

Riyan nodded in understanding.

"Thank you, Ara." Her speech.

The two then stepped towards the same dining room, for breakfast.

As usual, Riyan pulled out a chair and asked Zahra to sit there. He did the things he used to do for a week after their wedding. It was such a beautiful week, before the tragic incident took place and brought their relationship to the brink of separation.

"Bec...

Eliana's sentence was broken, because it got a headband from Kenan.

"We'll have breakfast, honey." Kenan said to his wife.

Eliana turned her head for a while, and resumed her breakfast.

"A lot of breakfast." Eliana poured the rice into Zahra's plate.

Eliana pulled out her hand, then prepared to eat her breakfast without a sound.

Zahra took the empty plate in front of Riyan, then filled it with rice and side dishes that were on the table. And all that Zahra is doing right now, is getting Eliana's heart to share in a strong squeeze.

As strong as the heart of the girl in front of him, so that in a state like this, it still looks fine.

Back then when he found Ardi betraying him, even just to mention the name of the man, he was so reluctant to do so. However, Zahra even still prepared all the needs of her son to this day. And everyone in this house knows that the separation of the two will still happen.

"You eat too, son." Kenan said to Zahra, after her daughter-in-law provided food for Riyan.

"Yes, Dad." Answer Zahra.

The four people began to eat their breakfast without any interest. Not not grateful for the favors, but, given the circumstances like this will never happen again, making everything feel bland. Eating with a variety of menus on the table, looks no longer tempting.

***

The breakfast so quiet was over. Now, Eliana sat on the sofa while shaking her face at the chest of Kenan's field. I don't know, after decades of happy gulps, this is the first time that consciousness has come back to cover her heart. Given that the girl so dear to the whole family would leave this house, the sense of unwillingness further made his heart moan to want to keep him from leaving.

A while later, Zahra and Riyan went back down to the living room. The difference this time, there was one suitcase that was already in the hands of Riyan, which was none other than Zahra milk.

"You're really going, Ra?" Eliana pulled her face from Kenan's chest, then looked at her daughter-in-law with sadness.

"Bogor ain't far, Mom. Zahra will also still work in the hospital, will find time to stop by here. Or we can meet outside." Zahra replied with a smile on her face.

Eliana no longer held back. He knew this was the only way for Zahra to be no longer entangled in the wounds her own son had created.

"Make sure he arrives safely. If anything happens to her, I won't forgive you." Threat Eliana.

Riyan was silent without a sound. If he could choose, he would choose Zahra. However, Meisya desperately needed herself.

"Zahra said yes, ma'am." Zahra extended her hand to greet her two in-laws with reverence. Riyan also did the same to both parents although still clearly disappointment on the faces of both parents.

After finishing shaking hands, Riyan again grabbed Zahra's hand and grasped it while stepping towards the car.

"Less than forty-eight hours, Ra." Lirih Riyan as she helps Zahra get into the car.

Zahra did not respond. There was a lot he wanted to do for Riyan the rest of the time, but doubts still kept him from crossing the line. When asking Meisya for time, there were many plans that he prepared, but now he began to hesitate to realize the plan.

Riyan's car has left the courtyard. Leaving a husband and wife who he was disappointed, while hugging in the doorway of the house. He cried over the innocent girl he had hurt so deeply.

Love must not have. Perhaps this is what Zahra believed, so he chose this decision for his relationship with Riyan. Choosing to put the feelings of another woman first, rather than her own. Choose not to be selfish, because there are other women who need the affection of a Riyan more than him.

It turns out that one of the most powerful ways to be free from suffering is to let go. Learn to learn, because everything is just a deposit. As time goes by, God will also take the taste that is entrusted to him, just as He took this man beside him and left him for another woman.
