When The Sky Fall

When The Sky Fall
Chapter 25's

Dari and Renald sit in a fancy restaurant. Not a word was said from Randy's office except the name of the food they wanted to eat. After ordering they went back into silence with their respective phones.

Before long, the food came. Dance ordered steak, sure. He likes meat very much. When else can eat delicious and expensive meat, free again. This time the steak is larger than any steak that Dance has ever eaten, with mashed potatoes and an appetizing salad. Dance put her phone on the table and then picked up the knife and fork.

Again it happened. Renald took the Dance plate.

"Return. I can do it myself." Pinta Dari. Dance extended her hand

"I'm alone" Renald said without staring at Tari. His hands were holding a fork and a knife.

"Urus just ate you. Don't take care of other people's food." Dance stand. His hands stretched out, trying to grab his plate. Renald kept the Dance plate out of Dance's reach and looked at her.

"Sit down." ask Renald and cut off the steak from Tari. Dance grunting.

"Why do you only eat bothered once?!"

Dari took Renald's steak and sat down and began to cut it.

"Are you sure you're gonna eat that?" ask Renald.

"You also ordered a steak, so it doesn't matter" Tari said without seeing Renald. He picked up one small piece of steak then pointed it at his mouth.

"That's raw medium. Half-baked" said Renald. Dance stopped her movements and looked at Renald. Renald was still busy cutting the steak that was in front of him. "Aren't you always eating really ripe?"

Dari stared at the steak before her for a moment then sighed. Dance finally cut the steak into small pieces.

"Get the plate. I'm done cutting it." Renald handed over Tari's plate. But Dari just kept quiet and still cut the steak. Renald tilted his head while staring at the steak for a moment then looked at Tari.

"Done." muttered Dance with her little smile. Renald's steak. "Give me mine." Pinta Dari. Renald gave Tari's plate. They exchanged plates. "Impass. You cut mine, I cut yours."

Dance stuffed one piece of meat into her mouth. Nodding his head, he enjoyed the steak. Renald looked at him in silence. It's hard to guess what's on his mind.

After the meal, Renald escorted Tari to Randy's office. The car stopped in front of the lobby. Dance opened the car door.

"Wait" said Renald stopping Dance from coming out. Dance who did not stand turned her head and looked at Renald. Renald reached into his pocket and took out a black card from his wallet. "It."

"For what? I don't need it." said Tari.

"For the party."

"party? What party?" tanya Dari was confused.

"Randy hasn't told you? Randy's office is having a party for his company's birthday and you need a dress" Renald said. Dance seemed to think.

"Then I don't just go. I'm a new employee" said Tari and left. Renald pulled out the half-standing hand of Dari until Tari sat down again in her place. Renald closed the door and stared at Dari. Their faces are very close at the moment. Only a few centimeters away.

"I'm going to the party. That's been confirmed. So just take the card and buy a dress for tomorrow. Maybe you didn't like the dress the other day because I chose it. I don't know how your dress tastes. So, just buy it yourself, so there's no need to return it again" Renald said.

"I gave it back because I won't wear it again. I'm not your boyfriend who always goes to parties with you."

"But you are my wife and that is your duty now. Everyone knows it too."

"My friend didn't know anything until you unpacked everything."

"Until when will you keep your status as my wife a secret?"

"I just want no one to know that I'm your wife. So even if we get divorced, people won't know! And when will we be like this? This position?" tanya Dance.

"Why? Are you nervous?"

"Do I look nervous?" tanya Dance back. Yes, he was nervous but he could still cover up his nervousness. He's still trying to normalize his heartbeat. Renald drew his face closer. This time it was really close. Dance had her head back but Renald was still approaching her and was so close, that if Dance advanced her head again, their lips would definitely touch.

"What about this?" asked Renald in a whisper making Tari shudder.

"Well what are you?" tanya Dance.

"Either.. Kiss you?" Renald. Hearing that Dance pushed strong Renald's body. Renald was pushed back but he could balance his body so he didn't fall. Dari was surprised by his actions earlier. He covered his mouth with both hands.

"I'm sorry." said Tari. He took out the black card that was still in Renald's hands then immediately opened the door and left. Renald stared at Tari who ran inside his office building until she was out of sight. Renald fixed his seat.

"Street."

Alan, Renald's private driver, is running his car back. Renald stared out the window. His elbow was placed on the car window while his hand touched his lips. Why did I kiss her?

...***...

Three of Dance's office mates, Jennifer, Michel and Lucy stare at Dance as she reaches her desk. Dance feels bad for them. He feels guilty.

"So you lied to us?" ask Michel.

"Well I'm not lying actually. I've said I'm married just don't say who my husband is. I told you already.. Complicated." Dance in self-defense.

"Why did you cover it?" ask Lucy.

"Because I don't want to be treated special just because I'm the wife of a handsome billionaire. I don't even want to be in the local news. I just want to live a normal life" said Tari.

"Oh honey, wouldn't it be risky to choose to marry that billionaire?"

"But still..." Dance lowered her head. He really hoped that he would lead a normal life. Especially if the wedding is on paper. He should be able to live a normal life, right? But why is it so hard!

Jen comes to Dari with both hands folded in front of her chest.

"Do you think that reason was accepted?" ask Jen.

"W-well's chat.. I'm...."

Jen hugged Dance and laughed. "Good Dance! You should have said. We understand that."

"Don't worry too much."

Dance smiled and nodded.

"Anyway's... Is anyone coming to the party tomorrow?" ask Jen.

"I don't know. Waiting for my husband's decision. Whether he's overtime or not. If she's overtime, I can't come" Lucy said as she walked to her seat.

"Didn't just leave it to the nanny?" ask Michel. Michel was still sitting at his desk.

"I don't want to. It's been a long time with the nanny. The night he was with his parents or one of them. I don't want my son to be a babysitter."

"You're right. Then just stop working." advises Michel.

"You crazy? How will my children need it? Their school fees are pretty expensive!"

"Stop suggesting it's a no-no, Michel" Jen said. "You're Michel?"

"I? Sure present. I've bought a new pair of tuxedos special for tomorrow's party."

"Good God, rich kid! Just a few weeks ago you bought a tuxedo at the gala dinner. Have you bought it again?" Lucy clucking.

"Hey madam! I'm still single! I'll just buy things for myself and spoil myself! Not like you!" Michel threw away his face.

"Good look at him. I am proud to be single."

"Already, already. Dance, no need to listen to them. They always argue unclear. How's yours?" ask Jen on Dance.

"I... Actually don't want to come but Renald-I mean. He has to come. So then... Don't want to."

"Ah right! Of course your husband should come. He was one of the main guests."

"And already taken." Michle rolled her eyeballs and snorted.

"Okay... I thought you were normal. Why is your reaction like that?" tanya Dance.

"Come on... He's that handsome. I told you not only women are attracted to him, but men are too. Seeing her makes me question my sexual tendencies" Michel replied.

"Oh my goodness!" Lucy patted her eel. Dance and Jen laughed.

"Yes! Does it already exist?" ask Jen on Dance.

"Jen! Why are you still asking? Of course there is. Her husband is a billionaire! Of course he exists! I'm sure they party a lot."

"Ahh that... I don't actually have a dress."

"What?!" his three friends were gawking at the same time.

"We rarely go to parties. Well I mean. I rarely go to parties."

"Why do I feel like you and your husband are in a different world" Michel said.

"Yup! That's it!" dance said half screaming. "Therefore I say our relationship is complicated."

"Then.. We're putting this case into Fashion Emergency" Michel said. Lucy and Jen agreed.

"Hmmm... What does that mean?" tanya Dance. Only he looked confused.

"Don't ask. Just come and get your cards ready. We're going shopping, baby!" cry Michel.

"Ohh... Okay... Somehow my feelings became uneasy about this." muttered Tari saw her three friends cheering.

And it's true. After work, she was at one of Jen's specialty dress shops on Madison Avenue. They asked Tari to try on the party dress. Not just one, but many. He had actually become the walking mannequin of his three friends. Each Dance wearing one of their dresses would comment.

"No, obviously not. I guess the skirt wasn't too short, but it turned out to be very short. You look more like a jal*ng woman than the wife of a billionaire,. Replace it!"

Dance change the dress again and they will comment again.

"God, I'm sure your husband will divorce you in that dress. It's disaster!"

"Hey! That's mychoice. That's nice! Anne Hathaway is wearing it!"

"Yes, that's right. But she's not Anne Hathaway. She's the wife of a billionaire, not a movie star!"

The quarrel made Dari change his dress again. If she has found the right dress they will still ask them to try another one.

"God.... You are so beautiful. The dress is perfect for you. Aren't you?"

"Yes, I agree."

"Me too!"

"But... Better try another one too. Maybe something better."

What then? Of course the dance changed again. If any dresses are open or sexy they also comment.

"Oh wow. You look like jal*ng."

"With that dress you will not only bring your husband home. But other men, too."

Dance grunting. He's so tired. Just this time she was exhausted just from trying on a dress. Why is going to a party so complicated?
