When The Sky Fall

When The Sky Fall
Chapter 46's

Dari sat quietly massaging the legs of Dhea, her mother-in-law who was still lying in one of the hospital rooms.

"Dari, why stay quiet? Is there a problem?" ask Dhea. When Dance came, she did not speak much. Even his expression looked as cheerless as ever.

"No mom, Dance is fine." replied Tari forcing her to smile.

"Not as usual. Is Renald naughty with you? Sometimes his mischief is beyond reason. He's too hyper."

"Renald mom's? Hyper?" tanya Dance. She's surprised. Renald famously cold turned hyper.

"Yes, hyper active. Little ones. Unlike the calm Andy. He and Frans sometimes like to be careless, like to be nosy and can't be quiet."

The dance is beautiful. It was not like the Renald he knew.

"But." said Dhea again. " Renald was also a sensitive child from childhood. With his feelings and also has a great sense of protection. If he saw that the one he loved was hurt, he would immediately step in without any care. That's why he's staying with Veronica. In addition to loving her, she will also continue to protect her. That's why mom keeps feeling guilty about you, for taking you to the middle of their relationship. Mom saw their relationship was already unhealthy. Mom hopes you can change Renald's life. Has Renald ever hurt you?"

Dance smiled and then shook her head. "No mom, Renald was nice to Dance" said Tari. He knows he's lying. He just didn't want to add to his mother-in-law's worries. Dhea smiled and stroked Dari's hair. Dhea knew her son's attitude. He can guess if Renald must be troubling Tari. Dhea actually did not want to marry Renald and Tari. But in order to save her son from a toxic relationship, she has to do it. Indeed, that reason remains unacceptable. Sacrificing someone else's child to save their own. Dhea plans to divorce them if Tari is really hurt by Renald. But thanks to a loyal spy he planted in Renald's house, he knows he shouldn't be in a hurry. She knew the tough girl Dance, who would not be easily defeated by Renald's cold nature. And sure enough, it was his son who fell in love with Tari.

"Mom." call Dance. "Can't mom rest first?" tanya Dance gently and carefully.

"Resting? Whatchu mean? Mom is better. The doctor said mom's coming back tomorrow."

"That's right. Maybe mom's better but mom still looks tired. Real tired. Come with Tari and Renald to America." take Tari.

"And bother you? Nope, no. You better speed up the making of grandchildren for mom" said Dhea with an unsettling smile on her face, making Dari misbehaving.

"M-mom ahahhaah.. It's not mom.." Dance laughs clumsily.

"From you who used to speak English suddenly now to speak Indonesian, mom sure so." seduced Mom. Dance scratched her non-itchy head.

"But serious dance mom. Please, rest."

"Mom's resting here, Dance. It's okay."

"Did mom not want to do it for Dance? At least mom owes it to Dance."

"debt? Whatchu mean?"

"Because mom's already matched up with Renald Dance. Dari sure mom already knows how Renald behaves. But mom still does that." said Tari. At first he was reluctant to bring it up or make it all up as an excuse, but he had to save mom, that was the main thing.

"I'm sorry mom, Dance. Mom just-"

"Come with Dance, mom? Dari will ask Renald for permission from Grandma." refer to Tari. Mom sighed. "Mom.. Pleases... For Dance."

"alright. If grandma agrees, mom will come with you. But if you don't, don't force mom again, okay?"

Dance nodded. "Understanding mom."

Dance walked towards the hospital exit. He came home alone this time because Renald had a job he could not stay in. But Tari told Renald about Dhea. Renald was excited to ask his grandmother for permission.

From a distance he saw dhea's sister-in-law. Dance knows they're going to meet Dhea. The dance quickly followed them.

Sure enough, they went into Dhea's room. Quickly, Tari also entered into Dhea's room.

"Dance? Mom thought you were home." Dhea was surprised to see Dance coming in.

"Aahahaha.... The dance... Dance to wait Renald just mom. Better dance here" she said. He saw the cynical gazes of Renald's aunt and cousin.

"Looks like you're at home here." Renald's aunt Clarisse started with her innuendo. He stared cynically with his hands folded in front of his chest.

"Of course he's at home, Clarisse. He did not need to do his duty as the eldest son-in-law. And look at this room, so luxurious and comfortable." said another aunt Renald named Mary who had surrounded the room earlier.

"You're right, Mary."

"The doctor said I could go home tomorrow" Dhea said with a warm smile.

"Good, don't be lazy! Only a little pain should be treated here, spoiled once." said Mary.

"Eddie spoils him too much. I'm sure the pain is just an excuse so he doesn't have to work. It seems you need to practice discipline again. Too cool."

Dhea just smiled at the sneers of her two sisters-in-law. Dance just stood still by the door and stared at them. He did not want to be disrespectful and made Dhea even more hated. So he could only stare at them with clenched hands. But what he was astonished at was how could his mother-in-law still smile warmly and kindly at the two of them? Dance breathed her breath.

Clarisse placed the lunchbox she had carried on the patient's table and pushed the table closer to Dhea.

"Eat this. We kindly brought all this for you. So spend it." said Clarisse in a commanding tone. His snide look did not escape his face. Dance's hands clenched increasingly stronger. Dhea opened the lunchbox. The food is neat and looks elegant. Dhea takes the cutlery and starts spooning the food but Tari's hands are much faster than Dhea's. In an instant he took a spoon from Dhea's hand and took a place to eat and spooned the food into his mouth. He ate that food. All that makes bengong Dhea and aunt Renald. Dance did that without thinking anymore. He remembered the words of those who would poison Dhea. No matter the risk he takes. He could have been poisoned, but he's in the hospital, right? The doctor can help him immediately. The most important thing is that Dhea is fine. Dance devours all the eating inside that food city. She hungry? Of course not. She had just eaten with Dhea before she left and now she was eating again. He was unable to eat anymore, but he was determined to hold it back.

"Dance? Dear? Are you okay?" asked Dhea who saw her son-in-law who looked crazy eating the food that should be for her. Dance only nodded quickly as her mouth was full of food.

"Does anyone from your country have no manners? Very disgusting."

"You should educate your son-in-law well!"

"It's so annoying! Let's go! Not having manners! How disgusting!" Clarisse walked out of the room while throwing her face away. Mary followed Clarisse away.

"Yuk!" Dance starts to cough. Dhea took a glass of mineral water and gave the drink to Tari. Dance quickly accepted it and drank it.

"Why did you do that? Mom knew you had eaten with mom."

Dance painstakingly swallowed the food that was in her mouth. "Mom ate too. If the belly dance is big and young, so it's still fit to eat again mom."

Mom laughs. "You're exactly like Renald, it's just that your way is much more subtle. Mom knows you're trying to defend mom."

Dance smiled clumsy. He's just tired of seeing Dhea continue in the bully. They are like teenagers, Tari complained.

"Once again, stop eating. You are full, my dear. They're not here anymore either" Dhea said. Dance smiled back clumsy.

"Nanggung mom." Dance back to eating that food. Dhea could only shake her head and smile.

"But mom feels weird" said Dhea again.

"What's so weird, mom?"

"Why did you eat this food? Mom could have eaten the food slowly until they left. Is there a sweetheart problem?" ask Dhea. Dance stunned for a moment then shook her head.

"Ti-no mom. Dance just thought mom had eaten and two grandmothers lam-intent The second dance aunt Renald wouldn't just go away" said Tari lying. He ate the food so that mom could avoid the poison that both of Renald's aunts talked about.

"Well, shouldn't you have gone home? What if Renald looks for you and worries about you?"

"Tari will call Renald later" Renald said and sure enough. Dari saw his phone screen bearing Renald's name there. Dance showed her phone screen on Dhea.

"Yes?"

"..."

"Still in the hospital with mom."

"..."

"Yes I know. Don't be chatty with me."

"..."

"All right."

Dance saved her phone.

"What does that chatter want?" ask mom.

"Just said he'd be home late mom."

"Hmmm.. So now you want to go home or do you want to sleep here?" ask Dhea.

"Is mom okay here by herself?"

"of course. Dad's on his way here. Mom won't be alone."

Dance nodded. " Good mom. Then, Tari will go for a walk. Dance has never been in this town."

"Okay, be careful."

Dance nodded then kissed the back of Dhea's hand and left. As he recounted, he took a walk in York City. He admired the city so much. The city, the buildings, everything. He passed through small alleys, saw some old buildings, markets and lastly sat on a bench by the river. He stared at the river in silence. She had previously been chatting with her sister, Dimas. He was told that they were fine and Dimas' graduation was a success. Dimas is still looking for work. In essence, his two sisters were perfectly fine. Dance was relieved but she was a little disappointed she couldn't attend Dimas' graduation.

Dance's phone suddenly sounded. He picked up his phone and read the name on his screen.

"I'll be home soon" said Tari.

"I knew. Are you all right?"

"of course. Kanapa?"

"Then why are you sitting there by yourself and daydreaming?"

Jerky dance. He looked for Renald's whereabouts. After a while he searched, he found Renald standing across the street. Renald smiled and waved his hand. Dance walked towards the side of the road, Somehow she looks happy to see him this time. Even he was unaware he was returning Renald's smile. Renald wore a white shirt tucked into his black cloth trousers, with his sleeves rolled up to his elbows.

"Wait there, I'll be there."

Dance nodded and smiled. He put his phone back in his bag. Dari noticed Renald who was still watching cars and motorcycles passing by while waiting for a pedestrian sign. Slowly, Tari stepped into the zabra cross, preparing to welcome Renald. The pedestrian lights have turned green. From a distance he saw Renald walking towards him. A taste that was originally just a swish. The taste he endured with all his might, the taste he tried to replace with hatred. But the more he does all that, the more he gets into love itself. Even at this moment, when he saw Renald heading towards him, he could no longer hold that feeling back. There was a sense of turbulence in him that wanted to be immediately released, the words he wanted to say. Dance walked towards Renald who was smiling at her.

Brakk!!

Dari could see her body hovering in the air for a moment then landing in a pretty hard place in a matter of seconds. Dance could hear the screams of the people for a moment then suddenly a loud buzzing sound covered all the sounds. He wanted to move but his body did not want to cooperate with him. His eyes continued to try to close on their own. Until finally he saw the figure of Renald sitting right in front of him. He wanted to call out to her, he wanted to run towards her but it was all suddenly dark.
