(Family) Bound
Peter's Request

Peter is seen sitting in a room in the prison with minimum security. He came to see Hans, his son. His old face looked so tired and burden-laden that he had been carrying for decades. Peter smiled when he saw his son coming. The 43-year-old looked healthy despite being a little thin. Hans face also showed calmness as if showing that he had managed to come to terms with his past as well as his life. Although the crime was severe, but because during the investigation Hans was cooperative and always kind, he was eventually placed in a minimum security prison.

“How are you, pa..?” Hans asked with a warm smile.

“Papa good, Hans. What about you, son.??” Answer Peter.

“Hans is also good, pa.” Answer Hans.

“What is papa here for..?? It's not like Dad visited me this month. Is there a problem, pa...?” Hans.

“Hans, can papa still not invite Edward to stay with papa in Germany.??” Ask Peter.

“Why did papa suddenly ask this problem again.??” Hans asked full of questions.

“Papa wants Edward to learn to manage the company, Hans. Even though you will still take over the company later, Papa still wants Edward to continue the company with you. Papa wants him to prepare to take over the company, at least until you get out of jail.” Said Peter.

“Edward is too young, pa. Let him enjoy his youth. I also don't want to force him to continue with our family company. She is happy with the Kira family, pa.” Hans Sahut.

“Papa is old, son. Papa wants to rest. But you don't know who you can trust to manage the company while you're not around. Radit and Adit are too young. After all their parents are also not necessarily willing.” Peter said with a deep breath.

Hans speechless. He realized Peter was indeed time to rest at his advanced age. But he is still serving his sentence for at least another year. While Edward his son was happy and grew well in the care of Kira and family. Hans did not want to take away his son's happiness. Kira and Shaka often visit him, they always give news about Edward and his development. Hans forbade Edward from coming to visit because he did not want his son to see him in prison clothes.

“I leave the decision to Edward and Kira, pa. Let Edward choose what he wants. Kira and Shaka also have the right to make a decision because they've been taking care of Edward since I've been confined here.” Hans Sahut.

“You agree that papa discussed this matter with them.??” Ask Peter expectantly.

“I agree, pa. But on one condition. If they don't agree, you can't force. Not that I don't care about our company, pa. But I just want Edward to be happy.” Answer Hans.

“Alright, Hans. Papa understands. Papa will talk to them soon.” Peter said with a glowing face.

Hans took a long breath. He did not want any more commotion among their families. Hans really hoped this would not cause any new problems.

Kira and her family welcomed Peter's arrival warmly. Kira's children are also used to Peter's arrival because for the last 10 years the man has come once a month to visit Edo and Dit-dit. Both Rania, Satria, and Nara had considered Peter like their own grandfather.

“Papa tumben this month come up to 2 times. Is there anything to talk about.??” Ask Peter.

“Can you talk to me, Shaka, and Edward.???” Ask Peter.

Ungoverned, Dit-dit who heard Peter's words immediately traces their three younger siblings out of the living room. They know the adults must be having an important conversation.

“What's up, Oom.??” Ask Shaka. Peter took a deep breath before speaking.

“Can I ask Edward to stay in Germany with me.??” Peter asked carefully as he did not want to offend Kira and Shaka. Both Kira, Shaka, and Edo fell silent at Peter's request.

“Opa is old, Ed. Opa is tired and wants to rest. But Opa can't just entrust the company to someone else, while your father is still in prison. You're Opa's only hope, Ed. Because Opa is unlikely to ask Radit and Adit to do so even though they also have rights to the company. Besides they are too young, Opa also can not just separate them from your mommy and daddy. Opa wants you to start learning to take over the company. This is your right too. Later you will also inherit the company in place of your papa.” Peter answered with a heavy voice.

“What about Hans..?? Does he agree..?? Given he himself who did not allow Edo to be treated by Oom.” Ask Shaka.

“Hans actually objected. He did not want Edward to bear the heavy burden at a very young age. But he did not dare to make a decision. He handed the decision to the three of you, because he thought you were the most entitled.” Peter was honest.

Kira remained silent and tightly grasped the hand of Shaka sitting beside her. He looked at Peter's face. Kira could see Peter's eyes were laden with burden and tired. He knew Peter felt lonely in his old age. His wife had died a long time ago, the only surviving child was behind bars, and Hans would not even allow him to gather with his granddaughter.

“Give us time, pa. We have to talk about this first.” Answer Kira calmly.

“Alright, Kira. Please talk and think carefully about this. I'm sorry for back teasing you guys. I have no other choice. But I will not impose my will on you. Whatever your decision will be, I will accept it.” Peter answered with resignation.

Edo kept staring at Kira and Shaka. Actually he was disappointed. She hopes Kira and Shaka will instantly reject her and maintain her existence in the family. But Edo also realizes that he is still not part of their family. Especially considering how Hans almost harmed Kira, Dit-dit, and Rania to save his life. Although disappointed, Edo accepts the attitude of Kira and Shaka. However, they have given him so much as long as he is there and he also realizes that Peter has rights over him.

After Peter died, the atmosphere in the house remained crowded as usual. Edo was more silent and preoccupied with his own thoughts. She swallows her disappointment alone as she feels Kira and Shaka will definitely hand her back to Peter. At midnight Edo went to the kitchen because the drinking water in his room was running out. From the kitchen window he saw two people sitting in the garden behind the house. Out of curiosity he walked slowly towards the 2 people. When approaching it turns out they are Kira and Shaka who are sitting in the park. Kira was sobbing and Shaka continued to persuade her to enter the house.

“Honey, let's go in first. I'm afraid you'll get sick.” Persuade Shaka but Kira does not budge.

“Bie, what should we do. I love Edo so much, Bie. He's my son, whenever he's my son. I don't want to lose him.” Kira sounded desperate.

“I know, baby. But we also have to respect the wishes of oom Peter. He is also entitled to Edo because oom Peter is his grandfather.” Answer Shaka.

“Why are you talking like that, Bie..??!! Are you willing to lose Edo..??!! Don't you consider Edo your son.??!” Kira did not accept.

“Kira, what are you talking about..??!! I love Edo, of course. To me he is my son, my eldest son. I don't want to lose him either, Ra. But we also have to respect Edo's decision and Peter's wishes. Let Edo decide the matter. We have to support whatever the decision is, Ra.” Sahut Shaka explained.

“What if Edo decides to come with papa Peter..?? What am I supposed to do..?? I don't want to lose my son, Bie. I don't want to be away from Edo.” Kira said increasingly sobbing with a voice so desperate.

“Hey, baby.don't say that. Edo is an adult and he can make good decisions. I'm sure he'll definitely consider things before making a decision. We just pray that God will lead him in making a decision.” Shaka said as he hugged Kira tightly to calm her down.

Edo who heard the conversation of Kira and Shaka cried happily. They loved him very much and never thought of getting rid of him. He was the one who had trapped himself with his bad thoughts. Edo continued to stare at the back of Kira and Shaka who still had not moved from his place. He tries to refrain from approaching Kira and Shaka despite the feeling he is so eager to scatter in the arms of the two people who have been taking care of him for ten years.
