Justin stared coldly at the two men before him. An old man who still looks fresh at the age of 96 years and a handsome man 53 years old who is 2 years younger than his mother. Justin continued to observe the face of Hendra Wongsonegoro, his grandfather. And Anindya Wongsonegoro, her uncle. It was undeniable that he had inherited the facial and eye lines of those two people.
Although he and his friends have gotten the CCTV footage they need and Shaka's problems with Vino's family are over, Justin decides to accept a dinner invitation from his mother's family.
"Anindhita, you've finally come with your son." Greet Hendra to Wahyuni.
"My mother's name is Wahyuni. Didn't you guys kill Anindhita 30 years ago..??" Justin is cynical.
"Justin." Tegur Wahyuni's.
"Your son inherited the Wongsonegoro family's sharp tongue." Said Hendra while chuckling softly.
"There is no need to be a Wongsonegoro just to be sharp-tongued. Anyone can learn fast." Rebut Justin with piercing eyes. Hendra laughed even louder to hear Justin's words.
"Good..!! You are not only handsome and articulate, but also brave. I like that." Said Hendra ignoring Justin's annoyed face.
"How are you, brother." Sapa Anindy. He hugged Wahyuni full of longing.
"Thank God my good news, Anin. How about you..??" Wahyuni asked back.
"good. Despite having to survive with the carelessness of the father every day." Anindya replied while chuckling.
"Your own fault won't bring a son-in-law to me to fight." Hendra murmur.
"That's why. I'm sure those women will run away once they meet dad. I think only mother, sister Dita, and Soraya can be patient with you to argue." Sahut Anindya did not accept.
"God..!! When do you want to fight..?? I'm so hungry..!!" Wahyuni's call stopped the debate between his father and brother.
Justin rolled his eyes panted and smiled cynically at the debate between his grandfather and uncle, although he was a little curious as to who Soraya really was.
"Soraya is my late wife. He died in an accident with a baby in his womb." Anindya said as if she knew Justin's head.
"It's none of my business." Justin coldly walked away from Wahyuni, Hendra, and Anindya who seemed to take a deep breath looking at his attitude.
"Your son is stubborn. Like you." Hendra told Wahyuni.
"And I got it from dad." Sahut Wahyuni stroking his father's arm.
The three of them finally walked up to Justin who had first sat at the dinner table. Wahyuni smiled seeing so many dishes being served. All of those dishes were her and Justin's favorite. Wahyuni did tell Hendra what his favorite food was when his father asked him.
The dinner that originally went awkwardly slowly began to melt as time went on. Wahyuni, Hendra, and Anindya continued to talk and exchange stories as if there had never been a problem between them in the past. Justin kept quiet and enjoyed his dinner. Ignoring whatever the three people in front of him were talking about.
"Justin, I hear you're helping your friend who's in trouble..??" Anindya asked trying to open a conversation with Justin.
"really. And thank you for helping us." Justin replied without taking his eyes off the plate.
"Dad helped you. Father ordered our men to find out. I won't even know that you didn't tell me." Said Anindya who still responded to Justin coldly.
"Who's the one who's bothering your friend..??" Ask Anindya again.
"Fabees. The owner of Orange Clock Club." Justin replied, looking at his uncle.
Justin's forehead wrinkled as he saw the change in Anindya's face. The man who had a friendly face had suddenly turned cold and dark.
"He's a dangerous man. You don't have to interfere with your friends and Fabian's business." Anindya replied coldly.
"You know him, Nin..??" Ask Wahyuni.
"So I forgot that our company is engaged in security..?? We offer not only security systems but also security services and private detectives. One of our clients once dealt with Fabian. Trust me, he's a dangerous man." Anindya answered with a difficult look.
"The case has been transferred to the police. Besides, it's not Shaka she's after." Said Justin.
"Shaka..??" Ask Hendra.
"Sheaka Rahardian. Son of Mahesa Rahardian, owner of RHD Group. He is also the owner of Raven Adventure. Justin, Shaka, and their other two friends have been close friends since High School. I even considered the three children like my own. That's why as soon as I heard Shaka had a problem, I immediately called my father for help." Wahyuni explained.
"In addition, it turns out that Shaka is not the target of Fabian." Keep Justin.
"Then..??" Hendra asked.
"We don't know yet. It's just that a damning witness Fabian said that it was actually one of Shaka's friends who was targeted. Whether it's between the three of us or his other friends." Said Justin.
"Damn..!!" Anindya's fizzled softly but was still heard by her family.
"Why are you..??" Hendra asked with an intimidating look.
"I'll add people to control you. This time in close proximity. Because the last time they let their guard down and you've been dealing with Fabian." Anindya said firmly.
"I don't want to..!! I can take care of myself. It doesn't mean I'm Fabian's target anyway." Deny Justin.
"And I don't care. From tomorrow you will still be escorted..!!" Anindya forced and spoke with a cold look.
"She..!!" Tegur Wahyuni's.
After doing a walk-out at dinner, Justin finally chose to wait in the front yard of his grandfather's house. Justin had just set foot in this house for the first time, he did not know the ins and outs of a house that was almost the size of a mansion. Justin smiled sinisterly as his gaze continued to browse the house from the outside. The luxurious house looked gloomy and cold. For Justin the people in the house are ridiculous. For what to have a house that big and spacious if only two people live.
Justin took a deep breath. Actually she really hoped her mother would catch up and they could come home soon. After a while, his mother did not come out. Apparently Wahyuni still wants to spend more time with his family. Justin chose to sit on one of the stairs in front of the entrance, ignoring the astonished gazes of the security guards guarding the mansion. Suddenly Justin smiled, his memory drifting at Rania. He missed the little girl.
"Is that girl so pretty..??" Hendra asked Justin.
Justin was startled and turned his head towards Hendra who was taking a position to sit beside him. A man appeared to come with a chair but Hendra refused using a hand gesture.
"Your mother told me. You're in love with your best friend's little girl." Said Hendra while chuckling softly.
Justin snorted angrily when he found out Wahyuni was telling Hendra about his personal problems.
"I used to be just like you. Loving my best friend's daughter. At that time I had been separated quite a long time with Robert, my best friend since childhood because we both studied abroad. I went to college in America while he was in France. The difference, after graduation Robert chose to marry his lover. I continued to travel from one woman to another. At that time one night stand was my favorite activity." Hendra said as he looked at Justin who was looking at him with disdain.
"Don't look at me like that..!! One of those women who kept chasing me..!!" Hendra's grumbling.
"Grandfather could have rejected them. It's basically grandpa who wants to." Justin was no less upset.
"Yes. Is correct. But then no one tried to stop me. Although I like all those women, but no one can take my heart." Hendra said defensively.
"Until I accidentally met Robert and his family. I was going to the beach with one of my women. Robert is on vacation with his family. And I saw Valerie, her eldest daughter. I am 35 years old and he is 10 years old and playing in the sand. I don't know why my heart suddenly beats. I fell in love with that little girl." Hendra said with a glaring look. He seemed to be smiling considering the first meeting with his late wife.
"Since then I stopped playing women. I kept trying to improve myself so that it would be acceptable for Robert and his wife to propose to their daughter. And I kept waiting until my little girl grew up. When Valerie was 18, I expressed my feelings for her. And I'm so happy because it turns out he accepted me. But no matter how good my relationship with Robert was, he still refused when I proposed to Valerie. He even separated us and locked Valerie away so we couldn't meet. Luckily one of the waiters at Valerie's house felt pity and helped us. I was terrified when I heard Robert was going to marry Valerie to the son of one of his co-workers. I finally broke into Robert's house with the help of the maid. That's when I had it. Without force of course. We were happy when we found out that our relationship that night was working. Grandma's pregnant. She's pregnant with your mother. Robert got angry and beat me to death. She stopped when she saw Valerie kneeling down and begged her to let go of me. Robert finally broke down and approved of our relationship, and Valerie and I got married. Although we did it the wrong way, but I never regretted having fought for our love." Hendra said while staring warmly at his grandson.
Justin stared at Hendra's face. He didn't understand why Hendra was telling his past. But Justin could see the man's face sparkling when talking about his wife.
"Then why grandfather actually complicates the relationship between mother and father. Grandpa should have understood their feelings the most." Ask Justin ketus.
"Because I'm a father. Unfortunately I am also a husband who dissolves in prolonged grief." Answer Hendra.
"Valerie died when Dita was 16 years old and I continued to dissolve in my grief. Valerie has always taken care of everything on her own while I'm more busy with my work. After Valerie died I became a limb. Other than grieving, I don't know how to take care of the kids. I don't even know how to take care of myself. Plus have two teenagers who are busy looking for his identity and continue to rebel. I don't know how to deal with them. When Valerie was alive, she always warmed our family. Keeps me close to my two children even though I'm very busy. He was like glue gluing every piece that broke so firmly. And after Valerie died, slowly the relationship with my two children stretched. But one thing is certain. I love them so much." Hendra said with a long sigh, as if trying to shake off the heavy weight on his chest.
"When I found out Dita was in love with your father, I was worried. Not because your father was a bad man. Aksara is a very good person. But I can't shake the worry about my daughter's happiness. I'm afraid Aksara won't be able to meet Dita's every need and it will make my daughter unhappy. Your mother has lived in luxury since she was born. While your father is an honorary teacher with a small income. Your father also refused when I offered him to work at my company because he preferred to be a teacher. Your father was a man with a strong principle of life." Hendra.
"I separated them and betrothed Dita to the son of one of my friends. But it turns out Dita chose to run away on the day of his engagement and then not long later married to your father. I purposely shut down all of Dita's financial access to prove that I was right all along. But it turns out I was wrong. My daughter remains happy despite living a simple life with Aksara." Hendra.
"I made Anindhita's fake death to protect her." Hendra said as he stared fixedly at Justin's face.
"What..??!!" Justin did not believe it.
"The man I had betrothed to Anindhita turned out to be an ambitious man who instantly fell in love with your mother. To be more precise, she was obsessed with your mother. She didn't take it for granted when I decided on the match. And he did a lot of crazy things to get your mom back. He kept trying to find your mother. I kept trying to cover Dita's tracks, but I was afraid that one day she would find my daughter and take away her happiness. Until one day, the man came back with his men. He took one of the servants hostage and threatened to kill him if we didn't tell him where your mother was. I managed to save the waiter and drive him out of here. I reported him to the police and he was arrested. But I realized, after getting out of prison, she could still be looking for your mother. Finally I made it look like an accident and Dita died in that accident so she stopped looking for your mother. At first he did not believe it because Dita's body was not found. But the strength of the evidence I gave him made him give up. For years I had to hold my longing for my daughter and granddaughter knowing that the man was still secretly looking for her. When your father died I wanted to come to my daughter and granddaughter to hug you. But I abandoned that intention knowing he was still watching our movements. The man was still obsessed with your mother, even though she had a family." Said Hendra with teary eyes.
"Then what made grandfather finally come to us..??" Ask Justin.
"Because the man has died. He died 3 years ago from being killed by his wife's affair." Answer Hendra.
"Three years. And grandpa just showed up a year ago..??" Justin did not believe it.
"Don't I tell you that I never know how to deal with my children...?? I didn't know what to say to your mother when we met. And as a parent my ego is too high to apologize to her. But at the end of the day, this parent still loses out to the homesickness of his son and grandson." Answer Hendra.
"Now you know everything. Do you stick to your stance..?? Will not forgive and accept us..??" Asked Hendra with a sad face.
"I'm very old, son. Almost all my friends have gone home. I don't know how much longer I'll live. But what I want is to be with my family in the last moment of my life. Besides, I don't want to face Valerie's anger when we meet. You don't know how horrible your grandmother is when she's angry." Said Hendra chuckling in the middle of his sobbing.
Justin looked at Hendra with an erratic heart. His grandfather suddenly looked so fragile. The truth Hendra told was enough to slap him.
"Grandfather." Call Justin, make Hendra look at him.
"Thank you for taking care of us all this time. Please forgive me for trying to separate grandfather from mother." Justin said while embracing Hendra's shoulder.
Hendra seemed to sigh in relief when he heard Justin's words. She grabbed the body of the granddaughter she had longed for and cried in Justin's arms.
"Do you know Justin..?? I'm one of your big fans." Said Anindya who had been there since when.
"Be quiet, stupid boy..!!" Hendra.
"She put a lot of your posters on her bedroom wall. He's also an Autumn River fandom member and owns all your merchandise, as well as the lightstick. Father has a special room to store all the items related to the Autumn River." Anindya continued regardless of her father. Justin looked at Hendra and raised his eyebrows.
"Are you going to keep complaining..??!! Ohhhhhhhhhhhh..!!" And again Hendra.
"Dad always followed all your concerts, even recorded them. Throughout your concert dad will continue to sing in front of the TV while swinging his proud lightstick. If it wasn't for me banning it, this old man would have been present at every concert." Anindya said while mimicking her father's style while swinging the Autumn River's lightstick.
"Basic brat..!! You want to make another fuss with me..??!!" Hendra shouted while throwing one of his sandals at Anindya who immediately dodged swiftly.
Justin laughed loudly at the behavior of the two men of different generations like Tom and Jerry. Hendra and Anindya fell silent and were stunned to see Justin. This is the first time they've seen Justin laughing so loosely with them.
"Eeeehhmm.. So is it okay for grandfather to acknowledge and show off this famous granddaughter to his friends..?? They always make fun of Grandpa for being your fan." Hendra spoke like a child complaining to his father.
"I'll go with grandpa when I get together with grandpa's friends. Let them know and believe that my biggest fan is my own grandfather." Justin said as he held tightly onto Hendra's shoulder.
"You see. My granddaughter loves me very much." Cibir Hendra on Anindya. While his son and Justin just laughed at Hendra's behavior.
