Brother, May I Love You?

Brother, May I Love You?
Chapter 20

"Where's Dhika?"

Desi who was bored spending her day off just by being at home, decided to go visit the cafe Dhika. At least he can talk and maybe the man who is always there for him will take Desi away. But all is only hope because all he met at the cafe was Ryan.

"Nothing"

There ain't? Dhika didn't come to his cafe on Saturday? How quaint. Though the man was always there every time he dated his girlfriend in this cafe.

"Did something happen to Dhika?" ask Desi again pretending to care. Though he only cares about the cost of food that he will pay because there is no Dhika there.

"Nothing"

Desi was slowly annoyed because the person she was talking to only answered with the same word.

"Can you speak other than nothing?"

"No"

Desi does not bother with Ryan's cynical tone every time they meet. He knew Dhika's friend didn't like her. But how is it? Most importantly Dhika liked it to this point. Or .. don't-don't ... . A terrifying thought emerged from within Desi.

"Did Dhika come out with another woman?"

It is no wonder that a thirty year old man is dating. Or even married. But not for Dhika. He promised to always take care of her.

"Dhika is resting. Don't bother him and go!"

Of course Desi was not satisfied with the answer given by Ryan. He intended to ask again but Dhika's friend walked very quickly to the kitchen area. He could not get in and was forced to leave. A break? Since when does Dhika need a break on Saturdays? Desi knows the hardworking man. He leaves the cafe and tries to find out the truth that happened to Dhika.

Arriving at Dhika's house, Desi honks; the axon. Hoping the fence would open as usual when he went to the house. But now it's different than usual. The fence did not open and the housekeeper ran out to greet him.

"Oh, Miss Desi. Good afternoon"

"Morning!" the correction.

"Why isn't the fence open?" he continued to question the reason the fence was not open to him. The housekeeper looked confused and said something that was beyond Desi's expectations.

"Today Mr. Dhika does not want to be disturbed by anyone. That's why I didn't open the fence for anyone"

"What's? It's me, Desi. Does Dhika know that you didn't open the fence for me?"

"But Ma'am. Mr. Dhika really wants to take a break today. A week ago Mr. Dhika was so busy he couldn't sleep"

"Is Dhika sick?"

"No Ma'am"

Very fishy. Dhika never once refused his arrival under any circumstances.. But now Desi wasn't even allowed to enter the man's courtyard just for the reason of rest? Really funny. Not accepting the grounds of the housekeeper, Desi pulled out her cell phone and contacted Dhika. There was only a waiting tone that greeted him and over time Desi became even more annoyed. He almost slammed the phone when someone came out of the high fence.

A man 180cm tall, disheveled hair and house clothes approached his car after gesturing the housekeeper to return inside.

"Dhikaaa" Desi immediately changed her tone to spoiled and flirtatious when she saw Dhika's face approaching in her car window.

"Desi, I'm sorry, but I need a break today"

"I was looking for you at the cafe. You don't exist. Now I can't even enter your house, why? Did I make a mistake?"

Desi praised herself for being able to act so innocent and spoiled in the presence of this man.

"No. I'm sorry."

"You're also hard to contact, making me sprained. You didn't?"

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make you feel that way"

"Are you really tired? Do I need your massage? Or are we going to the doctor?"

"no need. I just want to rest today. I'll call you tonight"

"Promise?"

"Yes"

"alright. I won't force my way in because I'm not that rough a woman. I'm leaving now"

"Yes. Thank you for your understanding"

Because of Dhika's softness, Desi understands and turns her car to poergi. In the rearview of Desi smiling to see Dhika still there, like not willing to let go.

Dhika heaved a sigh of relief because it could prevent Desi from entering the house. Although she felt guilty towards the woman, but .. she did not want any trouble because now there was Zanna inside the house. Through experience, Desi never liked that Dhika was close to any woman. Even if it's just a colleague or a distant relative. Desi will be very harsh and does not hold back from making all the women nearby stay away regularly. Dhika lets Desi do what she likes because all the women are also harassing Dhika. But different from now. Zanna was the only woman he would always keep close even though Desi did not approve of her. Because Zanna is the only family she has.

"Do you like painting?" dhika asked when she saw Zanna watching the painting in her living room when she returned to the house.

"So. You can't look around, can you?"

"Ohh.of course I can. You can walk around the house and look around. There is a swimming pool and a large back garden behind if you want to swim" explained Dhika trying to make Zanna interested in this house. Trying to make his sister comfortable to stay with him even longer.

"That's arrogant"

"What?"

Dhika did not expect to hear the accusations just because she wanted to make Zanna feel comfortable. Did his tone seem arrogant so Zanna judged it like that? Dhika shut her mouth afraid to speak wrongly.

Then he saw his sister walking towards the front door.

"Where are you going?"

"To the house"

Zanna did not stop and Dhika chased after her sister.

"For what?"

"Help. Let's get the job done"

It turns out that Zanna was indeed uncomfortable living in the same house as him. But Dhika won't just shut up and let Zanna try to get out of this house quickly. It was hard enough to get his sister to move into his house with the help of rats. Now he must try to make Zanna stay in this house at all costs.

"You'll just be a hassle there. You're noisy and scared when you see a rat. It's better to let them work alone if you want everything to be done quickly" he said, making his sister stop stepping and staring at him.

"Yes yeah?"

"Yes"

"Yes, that's it"

Now Zanna turned around and walked back towards her room on the second floor. Dhika followed her sister's steps on the stairs.

"It's Saturday, do you want to go out to the mall? Brother can take you if you want to watch or eat" persuaded Dhika.

"Wouldn't. Because it's a holiday, so it's time to ... sleep"

"What?"

"So much rest" Zanna replied and then closed the door to the room right in front of Dhika. It was truly not as imagined by her to receive such an answer. Aren't all women happy with walking, watching and eating out? Is his assessment of women wrong all this time or .. indeed Zanna is still lazy like the sister he knew first? Dhika let out a long sigh and went to her own room.
