Kiran felt her days were filled with excitement. But it didn't last long. When he realized that his mother would rather treat the boy better than him.
"Here left!" his aunt said he was taking Kiran to study together.
"Kiran wants to be with mom"
"Mom ngajarin DHika. Kiran is with Aunty"
"No!!! Kiran wants to be with mom"
Kiran ran towards her mother and accepted the rejection which then hurt her very young heart.
"Kiran can learn from Auntie"
Soon she was crying. Her crying was so loud that it sounded outside the house. Burhan's father enters by running to calm him down.
"Zanna why?"
"Mom doesn't love Kiran anymore. I just love that child" she said, crying.
"Zanna!! This is Dhika's brother not that person" her mother snapped making Kiran cry even more. Llau the boy who had just stood still slammed the plate he was holding. Surprised everyone and stopped Kiran's cries.
"Exit all!!!!" yelled the boy.
Kiran did not understand. Isn't she the one who should be angry that mom always puts the kid ahead of her? How come the boy is angry? Mom then took her to the room and looked into Kiran's eyes and started talking.
"Zanna. I'm asking Zanna to learn how to sleep with Bi Tia first yes"
"Why?" ask her by wiping away tears.
"Sir Dhika again sad. nantyi if kak Dhika is not sad anymore, mother must be nemenin Zanna again"
Saddened? Boys are naughty, so they can break the plate. But Kiran still does not understand her mother's explanation and goes back to doing everything with Bi Tia.
Since then there have been many changes in Kiran's house. His mother was often seen standing at the door of the boy's room. Calling and seducing the child to eat and get out. His mother now always cooks the boy's favorite food from Kiran. She protested with sulking not to eat but Bibi could always seduce her again.
"Kalo Kiran did not eat, Bi Tia also did not eat. Let us both be thin huh" Those were the words of his aunt who could always make him eat again and not sulk anymore.
After a few months the boy began to eat together. No more breaking dishes or slamming doors. Mother had also started to accompany Kiran back to do schoolwork. Burhan's father also often gave gifts to Kiran. Dolls, cute trinkets and her favorite styrawberry milk. Finally Kiran can feel the complete affection of the parents. It was just that the boy still often looked at him with a frightening look. Make him not dare to approach or ridicule the child again.
"Zanna. Come with dad yuk tomorrow!"
"Where?"
"Ke kali"
"Huh?"
"Let's take him to the river to find a small fish. Find a dragonfly, butterflies the same grasshopper. Wanna don't?"
It seemed nice and then Kiran agreed to Burhan's father's invitation.
Tomorrow he regretted that the scary boy had also come along.
"What?" ask the boy with a deep voice that kasara
"What the hell?"
Both of them were silent and did not speak. Only Burhan's father kept telling me about the place they were going to. During the trip Kiran saw a lot of trees on the right and left side of the car. He was happy just by imagining the river that Burhan's father told him about.
But the reality is not like the one in his shadow. Kiran often saw the river on television, and the one in front of her was no more like a got. Very small and shallow.
"It's a river?"
"Yes. It's river. Good isn't?"
"No" answered Kiran honestly.
"Not good, huh? But there are a lot of small fish. Look at tuh"
Kiran's explanation left Burhan's father speechless. But the boy covered his face, like holding back the laughter that wanted to come out.
"Zanna want to see the big house? There's this here" you know"
Kiran follows Burhan's father who takes her to a large house covered in plastic. It looks terrible to her who is still a child.
"It's a haunted house. Fearful. Huaaaaa" Kiran cried for fear of seeing the big house with that much plastic. Burhan's father's confusion calmed him down. The boy began to laugh. Not trying to cover my face anymore.
"How are we looking for butterflies?" get Burhan's father to stop Kiran's crying.
"Where?" ask him with a sob.
"Disana" said Burhan's father pointing to a vast field.
Kiran waited a long time but no butterflies passed. He didn't even see a single ant passing by. The sun was getting higher and Kiran was getting bored.
"Kiran wants to go home!!!" he screamed and cried again
"Duhhh where ya butterfly kok no one appears"
Burhan's father was confused to find any butterflies or insects for Kiran while the boy laughed again.
They finally came home with nothing. Just a lot of crying and confusion. Failing, Burhan's father invites Kiran and the boy to a restaurant.
Kiran's once ugly mood changed again due to the strawberry milkshake in front of her.
"Don't tell me mommy's buying Zanna milkshakes"
"Yes" Kiran nodded happily and started drinking her milkshake.
He drank it all in just seconds, surprising Burhan's father who could only shake his head and order the drink again.
"Basic greed!" the boy's words were not ignored by Kiran.
Three years passed very quickly. Kiran was now eight years old and the boy was fifteen. Kiran is now in third grade Elementary while the boy is in Junior High School. Their family started to become like any other family. Eating together, talking about each other's activities every day and starting to look like a normal family. Until a lightning bolt suddenly struck Kiran's heart.
"Aunt accepted to college in Jakarta"
Kiran did not believe what she heard. Bi Tia going to college in Jakarta? Why didn't anyone tell her about it? Although her mother often accompanies her, Kiran is still closer to her aunt. Kiran is eager to say objection to her Aunt's decision to go to college in Jakarta. But ... Bi Tia's happy face stopped her.
"You crying?"
Kiran looked up and saw the boy approaching. He was looking for a hidden place to cry.
"Don't bother!"
"I want to sit here. Do it cry"
The boy was completely silent, not speaking anymore. Letting Kiran finish her sad cry. Then he went back inside the house and smiled at Bi Tia.
"After Bibi's holiday will return to Malang" Bi Tia promised before leaving for Jakarta.
"Promise?"
"Yes. Aunt promise. Kiran studied hard huh"
Kiran nodded and saw her aunt being escorted by her father and mother to the station. He came back crying after Dad's car disappeared in the distance.
"Auntie .. "he said sadly.
"There are only six months Bi Tia will be off. So wait a minute"
Kiran turned her head and saw the boy trying to comfort her.
"Yes"
After Bi Tia left, her relationship with the boy began to improve. He even started calling the boy by the name of Kak Dhika.
