Calibra: A Delayed Taste

Calibra: A Delayed Taste
PROLOGUES

Audi stepped foot into the house. He had just returned home from college with a stack of books in hand. As a final semester student, it is clear that the rhythm of busyness has increased. There is almost no time to play or hang out with friends as usual, which is there every day he sports breath to prepare for graduation.

That is if Audi successfully completes the thesis. How do you want to be finished if the submission of the title alone is rejected?

Sighing, Audi's shoulders decayed. The girl was tired. Sweat flooded his body which may have been smelly all day outside. The disgusting sticky feeling made Audi unconsciously wrinkle his own nose.

Sucks. He didn't even have time for treatment. Me time is only intermittent. Brightly enough, every time he wanted to relax his mind about the unfinished thesis kept swirling around the head, making Audi stress as if a heavy load was piling up on the shoulders.

Sometimes he wondered why the intelligence of the father had not come down to him. The mother's intelligence seemed dull unwilling to reach her.

Hey, his parents aren't just anyone. His father was a big businessman with branches of business everywhere, his mother was a former manager of a well-known company. They're family pride. His grandfather was one of the richest men in Jakarta.

The point is, the Audi family is all great people. If likened to Audi is a sheep that narrows between the rulers of the jungle.

"Acrasnodity ..." Audi said hello as soon as he entered the house.

"Vamuhaikumussalam ... Beautiful Mama has come home. How's college, honey?"

A tall beautiful woman approached Audi with a graceful maternal smile. Audi immediately kissed her hand crucifying the woman.

"But a little lethargic? Why?"

"Capek," said Audi lazily while walking up the stairs.

Lalisa shook her head looking at her daughter's back with pity. Looks like finished college later Audi needs to be invited for a vacation.

Audi opened the door of his room, keeping his bags and books on the table before throwing himself on the bed. His eyes stared at the ceiling of the room half-sealed.

He's sleepy. The comfort of the mattress stroking the back makes Audi reluctant to just take a shower or change clothes. Though when outside he misuh-misuh heat, but after lying down like this Audi even dissolve in comfort.

The subtle buzz of the sound of the car undoes the intention of Audi who previously was about to fall asleep. At first he did not care, but a second later a curiosity appeared to make Audi slowly rise and walk closer to the window.

His forehead creased to see the familiar black Pajero parked across from his house. He quickly went downstairs looking for Lalisa who was busy making pudding in the kitchen.

"Ma, Mas Ibra came home from Jakarta?"

Lalisa turned her head for a moment and refocused on moving the pudding to a beautiful crystal container that is usually used during certain events. This makes Audi a little bit of a wonder.

"Yes. Don't you know?"

Audi was silent for a moment. "No," he murmured in wonder.

"Maybe he forgot, or he didn't have time to tell you. I'm busy preparing too."

Audi's forehead is getting crimped in. "What preparation?"

"Guests? Whose guests? Did Ibra bring her friend?"

"No. Your mom brought her boyfriend. Reportedly they will soon be willing to propose. Here to identify the candidate."

Audi's body is squeezing. His sense of hearing was immediately buzzing hearing the information. Audi's heart is like being doused in hot water. It feels crowded and boiling.

Did Ibra have a boyfriend? How, I don't know?

The man never said he was having a romance with someone. They communicate quite often over long distances. What did Audi miss? Why didn't Ibra even tell him about something so important? Is it true to forget about being too busy? Or was Ibra deliberately and did not intend to tell about the proposal?

Audi's heart ached. Before Lalisa caught him crying foolishly, she immediately turned around and went back up to the room.

"Where is Audi going?"

"Room. Rest. Audi's tired."

"Well, when Mama was going to tell you to take this to the house of Aunt Safa, all of you nyapa Masmu and acquaintance with the candidate."

"Audi mager! Mama is there!" audi shouted.

No one knew he was desperately holding back a tear that suddenly forced him to come out. Just like his feelings, only Audi and God know how he secretly admires an Ibra.

But now that hope is gone. Audi inevitably had to bury his one-sided feelings on the cousin.

Even after two days later Ibra and her parents left for Jakarta to interview the girl, the man still did not say a word to Audi.

At least, isn't Audi worthy enough to receive direct information as the next of kin? Or all this time Audi has mistakenly thought that they were not that close?

Audi's heart is broken. In the midst of busy facing graduation, he really hopes that his special day is attended by special people, including Ibra.

But, it seems that desire is just a mere wishful thinking. Because from this moment onwards Audi no longer wants to involve the man in any moment in his life.

This is Audi's promise. If Ibra can ignore him as a family, then he can do the same. Ibra itself is reaping the distance between them, Audi just use her instincts as a woman.

Although they grew up together and Ibra was like a friend and sister for Audi, as well as first love, the first man who managed to vibrate the pubescent instinct in Audi, but what Ibra is doing now makes Audi feel unappreciated.

If the man never looked at him as a woman, at least what was Audi a sister in Ibra's eyes?

Audi and heartbroken, he buried deeply all the memories he had previously painted with Ibra. Lock him in a box and lock him in a remote corner that he doesn't want to open at any time.

Ibra is an old story, and Audi is one of those people who don't like to be out of date. Although antique and expensive, Audi prefers something new because honestly he quickly bored.
